as a billy player: what he really needs is for CotW to come out and let him reinvent himself. holy moly e: it's also impossible to overstate how good that 6A buff is for duo lon. he finally gets very respectable damage from lights when before he could really only get light rekka or light stomp, now he gets basically anything he can get from heavy starters and it's HUGE imo. he ate quite well
31:01 About Ryo, you forgot to mention the Hien Shippu Kyaku (HK version) buff, that is not longer whiffs on crounching opponents, made it viable for mid-screen combo into the LK version.
The changes i really wanted were the return of Terry's vanilla EX crackshot, and Blue Mary getting climax cancel from Mary's Typhoon. I think Leona got a good change to earring heart attack, but honestly this patch didn't seem to do anything to fix low tiers, and the changes to high tiers just seem to make them less fun rather than less dominant. We'll see how it plays out though
There’s definitely a hesitation this time when it came to the top tiers it really has me curious. It would have been nice to see some change to ex crack shoot
@Drzuul When Terry was top 3 in the game it made sense, but there's so many characters with better EX overheads than he has, and they refuse to roll back the nerf he got at the start of the game. it just doesn't seem justified anymore
@@Countdownsmiles yeah totally. When I play him I just forget he has that move my meter is better spent elsewhere. If they want to keep it how it is just give a better reward on hit, make it faster etc or like you said revert it
As someone who plays Kyo/Ash/Benimaru as a team since 2003, the buffs to all those three characters are great, Kyo's hop pressure is now good even if he won't reach his season 1 or early season 2 top tier status but he feels fun to play still, Ash's zoning is now a threat especially at mid-corner range given that you can eat a combo, Benimaru got away but his buff to ex-raijinken improves his combos and setups. K' can now do ex minute spike after landing a chain drive (normal and EX including) which buffs his combo in the corner, speaking of chain drive the ex version has anywhere combo properties, K' will be seen more even if his skill ceiling is high. The buffs to Rock are appreciated, they absolutely murdered Ryo imo with the change to ex-zanretsuken, they should have increased it's scaling heavily rather than removing the ability for midscreen combos imo. Overalll a really solid patch and I missed a lot of other characters like Iori and Gato who are the winners of the patch and potentially the new best anchor of the game in the future Orochi Chris.
I also play a lot of Kyo and he does feel better and I’m okay with him not being as good as he was as long as he’s not terrible. Something I didn’t include was my extended thoughts on Ash. With the changes to counter hit jump blowbacks I feel like his niche of high damage that can kill you off one combo is getting taken from him. Now that damage isn’t going to be as universal as Ash comboing into his install but I still think when everyone has such high damage ash loses some of his purpose and It doesn’t help kof15 is such a high damage game with meter. I wouldn’t mind seeing some 2003/XI aspects of his move set reintroduced in the next kof. I’m not sure if Ryo deserved the nerfs as I felt the ex machine gun punches made him unique in this game. But like I said in the video it seems like they want you to play towards the corner then cashing out with big damage. They could’ve nerfed the scaling but I think that would’ve made him worse overall.
the nerf on chizuru's ex dp is pretty big, it means now she gets no oki off of any combo that ends in ex dp which was super good before because it set up cross up same side guessing game, this is a good video overall maybe could have been a bit more in depth because it misses some changes that were not in the patch notes like some damage changes to ralfs standing C and others but overall you do a really good job especially with showing the old patch and new patch, that's a really nice touch gg's
Yeah I was shocked to see the difference in ex dp. I did gloss over some changes but I wanted to keep things concise and straightforward. There were also some changes I didn’t understand so instead of spreading misinformation I omitted them. I miss so many of the kof 14 characters that didn’t make it. Nelson, Zarina, Alice, Hein, Love heart, Mui Mui, Bandeiras, even verse was sick. Seeing how well Vice and Mature play in 15 has me wanting more. Thanks for watching!
I doubt this will be the FINAL balance patch, usually they do one where EVERY character gets something and given Mature and Vice jsut released, they still need to be buffed and nerfed accordingly...
If we're lucky, we might get one. But there are a lot of games where they just left it at the final patch. Biggest example being BBTag and BBCF. UNIcl:r also just bounced. Arcana Hearts 3 is also an example of this as after Dark Hearts release to home consoles.
@@AlchemistStar50 I trust SNK, I feel they'll let the game ride for a few more months in 2025 then release a final BIG balance patch for EVERY character in the game as a thank you for playing now we're moving on patch and then go prepare the release for City of the Wolves...and given how 15 played out its easily become one of my favourite iterations of KOF, 14 was a good start but 15 just blew it out of the water on every level, system mechanics, alot more good characters on the roster, and while there were 14 characters I would have liked to see back the characters in 15 really didn't make me miss them too much
I feel the same way about kof 14 and 15. I can see one more patch but I think certain characters would barely get touched. Like Duo Lon for example it seems like they’re happy with him. Honestly I wouldn’t mind if they just ported over the remaining characters from 14 to 15 and support both KOF and Fatal Fury at the same time but then again I think I would prefer if they just got everyone back for 16 plus old favorites like the NESTS bosses, American Sports team and for the love of god more Ash saga characters besides ash and Elizabeth.

The biggest lie known to mankind is Isla getting nerfed. She is still moving like she was never nerfed in the first place. Heidern on the other hand got a decently damaging nerf. If he wants invul, he gotta spend half a bar. I still can not understand why Yashiro got nerfed.
