Enough time has passed, Under Night In Birth II has now been patched. Can we now all admit that Under Night In Birth II is the new greatest fighting game in the world for all eternity, and we need to pump out memes glazing this game like it's Kagura Bachi?
Ngl I prefer the 1st game in terms of music and voice acting lol (don't get the wrong idea, I still like sys celes, especially the color edit & new chars)
Idk, never really went back. The character select had the biggest downgrade compared to the previous games in FG history tho. Would like to play, but when I tried the online after the release bug got corrected I just got bodied by a Vatista and never openned it again and just stayed on granblue, just the dlc char combo trial.
I never even thought of p5arena being a thing in the future, but now that youve implanted that shimmer of hope in me i dont know if i should hate u or love u lmfao
It's not that small actually. You can hop on at most hours and find people in ranked. I'm still kind of new to the game, but I have no issue finding matches.
@qTRA Game is only in it's first year with a ton of new players. You might not get constant games like in SF6 or T8 but if you end up liking it that won't matter in the long run. Although I recommend you plan on PC as it has the most players
With Ghostface, Clive Rossdale and Ronaldo announced, the Mugenefication of the genre continues unabated. I continue to belive Shrek and Omega Tom Hanks are Inevitable.
This is all mortal kombat 9's fault. Shrek will probably show up in some platform fighter but I think the sky would fall before Omega Tom Hanks breaches his Mugen containment.
9:30 I have been playing gbvs rising recently and yeah I also feel the combo system is very barebones surely there's a big flaw in it and I feel like there isn't much depth to it like it's really hard to creat a new practical combo to use while in match and the game's system mechanics dosen't help either like if they can fix the issue I would be very happy to put more time in the game because I don't feel any sense of reward while learning the game
@@Drzuul the joke is that after I wrote this comment I went and started under night in-birth 2 and I can't get enough of It (right now it's one of the best fighting games I played in my whole life)
7:55 Yeah that complaint is a ton of biullcrap. Terry and Mai in Street Fighter 6 is a GREAT move and they deserved to be in that game.Plus Terry was a ton of fun and I can't wait to see how they handle Mai. So no, Let people who are excited for Terry and Mai have this.
I love Terry and Mai but I really really really really really really want cody. Plus I'm going to play them in the better game Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves! Out April 23 2025 ;^)
I'm still playing Idol Showdown, so it was cool seeing it pop up in this video. I'm flying out to Frosty Faustings for my first major to play the game. Everyone should play it. It's FREE!
Uni2 been my main fighting game all year long, despite the rocky start its now a great package if you want a true fighting game made by fighting game players, and ppl who enjoy it still are one of the most loyal mfers i seen in the FGC, aside from this excited abt garou and vf5 revo
doing really well this year for fighting games! i took a bit of a break all year until rivals came out and it took me back, ive started with smash so it was really fun going back to a plat fighter, now im learning mbaacc and that game is so fun c-roa my beloved
tekken is my first fighting game ever so I've been having a great time. definitely interested in a foray into anime fighters like under:night. i got the capcom fighting collection and the darkstalkers series blew me away. def taking your advice and exploring the lesser played games Gonna be playing virtua fighter revo on steam this month for sure to try it out. its been a great year of gaming for me bc of my newfound love for this genre
Best of luck! You should try out some SNK stuff like Garou and KOF98 since you can emulate them easily on anything. Plus the community version of melty blood is free too so It doesn't hurt to give that one a shot.
This is probably one of the most comprehensive breakdowns of fighting game news for 2024 I've seen. Some things I'd probably include would probably be: 1) Tekken 8's DLC season pass. Eddy, Lidia, Not Dead Heihachi w/ weird story justification and miscommunication about paying for stages, & Clive the Soul Calibur guest in a Tekken game. Tekken & Drama just going hand and hand. 2) MK1 possibly losing support according after this season finishes according to a leaker. 3) Multiversus is on the decline this year for WB with WB losing ground thanks to Suicide Squad. But Mulltiversus I think released new characters like Nubia, The Powerpuff Girls, Betelgeuse, Agent Smith, Samurai Jack, Raven and Marceline more recently. 4) At least three Indie fighters showed up on Steam this year: Coreupt, Blazing Strike, & Diesel Legacy actually might've had a multiplatform release. Blazing Strike and Coreupt have solid foundations but lack polish overall. Diesel Legacy is actually more of a 2v2 Lane Based fighter that seemingly has the best reception and most polish but it's also gotten support from Mike Z ex Dev from the Skullgirls and after all his past controversies. It's been a long year but that's been some of the fighting game news I recall engaging with. Happy New Year.
I don't like multiverses. I am a bit of a hater and even I forgot it existed (I don't play platform fighters anyway.) I was bound to miss a few fighters I'll have to talk about them next year,
Personally, I’ve been dabbling all over both old and new. I played the R.E.V.O. Beta test on a potato, which shock of all shocks actually worked which left the impression “Sega is back” Every once in a while guile of the winquote variety would mention one or two things that sounded interesting so I would try something he would recommend. But otherwise I try to strike a balance
I've always been more of a 3D guy that ended up playing 2D fighters because my friends were playing them and they jumped on the Rollback revolution earlier. But VF5 REVO, VF6 and Tekken 8 season 2? For once, it feels like I'm not on the verge of starving to death.
I wish we had more 3D fighters Out there I never got the chance to really get into them because It's always been Tekken or bust with SC6 sprinkled in there. I hope VF6 does well enough to boost interest in the genre.
Blazing Strike released October 24, 2024 Diesel Legacy released December 3, 2024 The former is an homage to pixel Fighters of the past and the latter is a 2v2 that has lanes similar to Fatal Fury Real Bout.
Nice video. I'm only really interested in what Arcsys is cooking up (with Strive as my main game and T7 + GBVSR with a friend). I was really happy to see Lucy as our first collab character since I'm a massive Trigger fan. Hoping to see more of you next year!
Don't get me wrong I loved the cyberpunk anime but for Guilty gear, a series that has been anti guest character for the longest time to pull out a random Collab character after all this time. Just strange, I don't play strive but I think the slot would of been better off going to a GG vet not in the game. But Lucy will probably have a cool move set at the very least. Interesting that you're still playing t7 when t8 is out why not switch? I plan to keep making lots of content this year so I hope you look forward to it.
@Drzuul I comletely understand the sentiment about GG being "anti-guest", I was one myself when they were introducing the guest char option in surveys. But having a Trigger rep in strive is just too much of a miracle for me to not be excited. Always wanted to get into tekken and I've been seeing 7 here and there for years. Would've tried 8 if my pc ran it but learning 7 now that its "dead" has been very peaceful and relaxing tbh. Cheers!
That's BS about people not enjoying the new versions of the big fighting games. Everybody I talk to love Tekken 8 at least. SF6 is good, they just need to make some adjustments, as well as Tekken 8. But if you hop online on either of those games, you'll consistently find matches and people enjoying the games. The thing is, the voices on Twitter and social media are extremely vocal about the negative, but the vast majority are still loving those 2 games. I'm not sure about MK1. I think that game is actually on its way out. But when it comes to Tekken 8 and SF6 (I'm predominantly a Tekken player but I love SF as well) those games are far from bad or dead, and will only get better with time, just like Tekken 7 and SF5 did. Both started off worse than Tekken 8 and SF6, but they ended up so great at the end that people are going back and playing those games. So I can only imagine how great Tekken 8 and SF6 will be with a couple more years of support.
I've seen a ton of people online being negative about both. But like you said on social media the loudest voices are the most negative so maybe I have to tunes those out a bit. Both game will only get better with time and I think we've got a bright future ahead.
Strive is still unplayable because Ky's lightning is still orange

I picked up Under Night 2 on Switch for $30. Great game! I'm actually introducing my buddy to fighting games with it.
I saw that there is a doujin fighting game developed by only one person. The game is called Hinokakera.
Gotta look into it. Thanks for the suggestion
10:19 ah, the rule of three

Its because people like you that capcom and bamco can get away with their crap
