I love this video with the narrating you were doing. It was like you were telling a story. You two have created a really great community here. Loved seeing you out there on the “togging grounds” catching them up! Amazing video as always. 🤙
I actually never heard anyone say, if you catch a fish on the first cast, you won't have a good day, but it's happened to me so many times, where you just say to yourself, I shoulda' quit when I started. A very real omen.
the first day we were there for striped bass and decided on a whim to try for tog. we came back the second day with lighter setups and had way more fun!
Hey this is geo we met when you where fishing for black fish .it was great seeing you guys. thanks for the tips for black fishing i caught some the same day we spoke....keep up the great videos. Hope to see you guys again.
Try flipping rocks and catching your own crabs. I have just as much fun doing that as fishing. I hate bait and wait also, but with Tog you don’t have wait long.
@@tracynshea1333 nice, i have been to Avalon but never been in Cape May heard its nice down there i mostly fish in OC, and i have my little Channel, but in spanish.
I use a Jigging World Nexus 7ft spin rod with a battle dx 3k with 15lb braid and 50lb floro. I tie a "Belmar Rig" with 4/0 or _ 3/0 octopus hook or I use 3/4 or 1oz tog jigs. I fish more vertically in inlets, but they are my main target in September and October in NJ.
I’ve been trying to cross paths with you guys for a long time. I fish anywhere from shinnecock East to Montauk but primarily I fish in Watermill, bridge Hampton area.
You'd be better suited with a sensitive 7ft rod with a tog jig, and fishing a bridge, pier. or jetty. I also wet a rag to get better leverage gripping them, if you have one handy Also make a better habit of laying your measuring tape flat on the ground before you measure a fish. You will end up taking home a short fish that way which would suck if you run into Fish & Game
ironically the bay constable showed up and was checking licenses and fish as we were leaving. it’s nice to see they’re out there enforcing regulations.
@@ericao2559 yeah exactly my point. But when you measure over the top, it'll add an extra 1/8th inch or so to your measurement, which you wouldn't get when measuring on a flat surface. You gotta be careful with that
Not the proper way to measure a fish. You should know better by now! Either next to fish or a bump board. The way your measuring fish makes them bigger than they are from girth. I hope you video the ticket when DEC finds you out there.
the bay constable actually stopped everyone over there as we were leaving and checked licenses and fish. We were all good, but thanks for your concern.
OMG Erika your so mean and cruel killing those poor crabs !!!!! You smooch and release the fish but viciously slaughter live crabs oh the humanity Just kidding lol but atleast I didn’t make no short jokes…..
I'm in Manhattan have 4 rods...would love to fish and film sometime before the season is up. Lmk!

thank you so much! we appreciate the compliments and appreciate your support even more 🙂
Nice to see the expansion in your fishing. Invest in a flat/bump board for proper measure.

Content ugh ....yes!!! Hey always a pleasure guys! Nice video and another yes! Never enough sleep when we are fishing! great job on the Black fish!!
Hey buddy the next time you go for tog use a light set up like a 7 foot rod with a 3/4-1 oz tog jig it’s so much more fun that way

Blackfish are fun to catch and really tasty. Fill your freezer while you can! Great stuff!
I hear they’re delicious, but we don’t eat fish! I’m thinking that maybe I wanna try a blackfish before the season is over though
Good to see you back. Keep up the good work.

Its been slow south in Jersey too. But glad to see you guys having fun with the blackfish. Great video as always✌️✌️
Been killing them in South Jersey, cold spring inlet is very productive
@@tracynshea1333 no idea where that is but glad you are catching them.
Cold spring inlet is in Cape May, and thanks we’re killing them

wow!! I think you guys are the first to use circle hook and get Tog! everywhere I read about using circle hook for tog was don't do it
Looked like fun thanks for sharing
Enjoyed the fish story's
Such a cool looking fish! Looks like such a fun time!
Hey brotha definitely take advantage of November...I'm hoping some gator blues show up in my area this season!
Black fish( tautog) may be slimy but delicious white meat and great when made ceviche style, and yes they have better looking teeth than many humans.

we fish all those areas, so i’m sure one of these days we will see you out there!
Its justin here paul . Id like to give you some advice on black fishing it would help you amazingly ill talk to you in our chat
Just started to fish…. love your vids w/ quotations man!!! Newly sub also…
you can use articial for summer flounder and porgies

When cutting the green crabs, do it where you’re fishing. The legs and bits that fall off get in the water and act like chum
i collected all the extra bits and threw them in the water below us because i read that it makes good chum
I never blackfishesd at the plum.U guys should plug there low tide at the boulders.👌👌👌
Where is this ? If u don’t mind me asking
@@janexan8161 "the point" at Orient Point, Long Island. all the way at the tip. be mindful, you'll need a permit to drive there and fish.
Yeah I would use a 7 foot rod with a S&S blackfish bottom sweeper jig 3/4 ounce
Another great video~~
Try blackfish jigs. You'll hang up way less and it's a different level of fun.
…..and I’m complaining that I didn’t have a single hit for six hours of fishing this weekend.
I feel like i seen you around my town or somewhere
The first cast curse sounds stupid until the 38th time it happens...

Lmfao a fucking 10ft rod and a vs for black fishing 😂😂😂😂
