    I keep trying to like modern architecture, I really do; but then buildings like these get designed and built and I get disappointed all over again. I just cannot relate to amorphous blobs and glass boxes of different proportions. Who needs undulating grass, for the love of god? How is a pillar evocative of a ginko tree in full leaf? A building has failed in its design if its design needs to be explained to you.

    Apart from the museum in Cairo which we are ought to compromise as it relates to a great civilization the others all look awful. Everything is too loud with sharp edges or disgustingly tubular that gives the onlookers a headache and uncontrollable amount of negative energy.
    We were looking for something that's pleasing to the eyes, which possesses the perfect BALANCE and HARMONY, something that's close to nature and gives you peace of mind once inside.

      maybe its time to switch careers then. these buildings are an insult to intelligence, beauty, and the cities in which they are built.

    • @Relikvien
      @Relikvien 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      DO NOT TAKE INSPIRATION FROM THIS!
      If you are an arcitect it is your job to make places where people meet, live, work and thrive.
      Arcitecture is public and we are forced to look at everyday. So it is not about trying to be original or making some "wow-building" and showing what a fancy "artist" you are.
      The "wow factors" mostly go away after 2 seconds, and then we are all left with a building no one likes.
      Remember to build with color, nature, beauty, funcionality and respecting the local cityscape, materials and culture.
      For real inspiration: Clementskvartalet Oslo, built this year or Nygaardsplassen, Fredrikstad, (both designed by the same studio).
      Sjøparken Stavern: Agnesbrygge and Tukthuset Trondheim, and Eidsvoll Police station are also examples. (I give you norwegian ones because as a norwegian these are the ones I know)
      Good luck!🎉

      @@timm.8729 Actually, "native American" is an oxymoron, a misrepresentation, and cultural appropriation , among other things. All extant humans are native to one place on the planet, only one and that is the Rift Valley in Africa. From our first step onto new soil we humans have come up with creative ways to make a claim on every patch of dirt on the planet or, more importantly, deny others a claim. Being the first human to such dirt is one method, another is throwing things at the people currently on some dirt until they relent. Of all the ways we have come up with so far, making up fairy tales and false narratives may be the least effective. As a member of several minorities, a person of mixed heritage, and an American Citizen I say "their contenant" my arse. They have no more right to this land than any other human, being first isn't a right and even if it was they lost it because they had smaller projectiles.
