    I get a lot of enjoyment and work out of this sort of knife. The Mora's are also great for learning how to use your stones as you have a nice bit of steel you can actually do something with but you don't break the bank if you really mess it up!!! As regards the sheaths. Got a Hultafors OK4 which has a webbing belt loop on the sheath. I've just copied more versions of that to fit different brands of knife sheath. Old bits of webbing, elastic and buttons, costs nothing.

      I did something similar on an old Mora once, it's easy to do. I should really do that with the wrecking knife.
      Thanks for watching mate.

    Great collection of good honest working knives, I use most of what you have there, I've had a Hultafors heavy duty knife in my bag for well over 10 years, absolutely solid knife, same goes for the bacho wrecking knife and chisel.
    As for Mora's they are hard to beat really.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿😁👍🏻

      Thanks mate, the Hultasfors GK is fantastic and soo bloody cheap. It's a fraction of the price of the bahco wrecking knife and that is cheap enough.
      It's just ridiculous how good some of these knives are when compared to knives that they sell for normal prices.
      Thanks for watching mate.

      @@KuukkeliBushcraft I think the older you get you tend to go full circle with knives, you end up going through the expensive faze before realising your old mora etc did the job just as good.👍🏻

    I’ve met some people who look down on Moras. They don’t know what they’re talking about and would likely die if they were to get off into the woods away from a state park with utilities hookups.

    • @KuukkeliBushcraft
      @KuukkeliBushcraft  9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      🤣yes they probably would. People like to look down on stuff. It is quite understandable though to think that something so cheap is junk. But to confidently say so without trying it for a while first is kind of dumb.
      Thank you very much for watching.

    Mora, Hultafors, Finman, Bahco, ...all these knives are great; quality- and pricewise. Batoning? Yes, you can beat the bejesus out of them. No problem.
    But now chinese kopies come in like this Hong Kong. I bought the same under the name Finbullet. Broke immediately. Shit. Two other bad examples are Meec Tools and Eyeson. All three have former Lindbloms design. I believe, a chinese company bought Lindbloms and sells now their models. Partly with the same good old quality (XXL has one), partly with the blade going only 1 cm into the handle to save material and money. Don't even try batoning....
    Agree with you: The Bahco heavy duty is absolutely the best. A real one knife option.

    • @KuukkeliBushcraft
      @KuukkeliBushcraft  8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      All of the ones made over here are perfectly good knives and some of the Chinese ones too.I think Bahco manufacture all over the place nowadays and their tools aren't as good as they used to be but not bad either. Both the wrecking knife and the chisel version are really good. I totally abused that chisel for years.
      Some of the 3 euro knives are just junk, why bother when you can get a Mora for 5🤣. Thanks for watching mate.

      Those lovely old Moras turn up everywhere in the Nordic countries 🤣. I am glad, people don't value them so they sell them for nearly no money. I need a bigger house 🤣. They are perfectly good knives and the old used ones have a bit of history and class. It's really quiet rewarding to clean them up, wax the handles and put an edge back on them.

    I loved nordic knives so much that I started making my own several years ago. I used to carry many different Morakniv's, they were great knives. I convert old files into puukko blades nowadays, one of my favorite blade types. There's so much variety in nordic knives though, I never get tired of them! My heavy duty knife, when I'm not carrying my own, is still a Mora. Cool video showcasing a lot of well used knives!

      I didn't know such a thing existed, sounds like a good idea though. No, don't forget I am a cheapskate 😂 it's just a bit of wet and dry sandpaper (500 grit) glued on there. Serves the same purpose though, although I guess that I will need to change it more often.

      The old Moras are really lovely knives. With knife design it is often the simpler the better and it doesn't get simpler than a barrel shaped handle, just a little thicker in the middle of the hand.
