I would respectfully disagree, I was born in the 80s USA and I'm very familiar with this song. My wife was born in the 90s in Japan and this is one of her favorite songs. Its such an iconic and cult like following song that many young people are familiar with. I think there's a new trend of younger people in their teens, 20s, and 30s listening to more 80s music because of things like stranger things that opened up a door to a new culture that they can better relate to then say the 60s hippie or 70s disco culture since it's closer to their time.
