This video is serendipitous GOLD for me! I previously ordered the V3 of this motor last week before I discovered your channel. Motor arrived yesterday and windings look great. Plan is go wait until the motor dyno arrives an do some test comparisons from your original research using 80A speed controllers from Z, Sky Lord, and Spektrum Smart. I previously ordered 2 Mini-Uproars last month....one will be built with this power, while the other one awaits future long-term power advancements. The Mini-uproar will be my mule for rippin up the skies with balsa. Hmmmm...maybe I should order a couple more Mini’s for those unexpected gusts of gravity or occasional dumb-thumbs syndrome. Thanks for posting, it is very much appreciated! Jim
Those v3 motors look very very good. I want to use one on my next project. I've looked at that Mini Uproar a couple of times too. Have you flown it yet?
Have not assembled the Mini-Uproar yet. Still trying to determine best type of servos to use. I am not a 3D pilot, but I’m looking to use both 3S and 4S power on the Mini. Just want the servos to hold using 4S during windy days with high throws, and spoilerons.
Thanks John...These servos are perfect and I ended up ordering 5. These represent a 64% cost savings over the Hitec. For the Mini-uproar, I’m going with the Detrum SkyLord 60a ESC, and the Detrum 8 channel (mounting orientation reqt). A complete Mini-uproar build purchase comparison between Tower and The Web is $369 (Tower) vs $213 (Web). Yes....your research and sharing of this information is very much appreciated!!! Jim P.S. The Rimfire .15 is almost 2X the cost of this motor....and not available until “Mid-Oct”.
You'll be very happy with Sunnysky and those Corona servos get pretty strong reviews. Good choice ordering a spare. I ALWAYS add one servo to the order. Also good job doing the shopping. You are on to my strategy.... ;)
The master airscrew props tend to have slightly less pitch in my experience. On a static test like your running you are not measuring airspeed. But you will see similar static thrust with less amps because of that. But the APC will have more pull in the air.
Like the test videos, the different battery and prop combinations are interesting to see. I'll look Sunny Sky up, just to see the prices. AirHammer out!!
I’m looking at a sunny sky v2 or v3 2814 for my 1.1m T28, I want to run a master air screw 9 x 7, 3 blade, any recommendations re what kv I should select and whether I should go with v2 or v3? Thanks!
Sunnysky does a great job (but not perfect) of posting motor test results for various configurations on their site. You didn't provide voltage/amperage information, so I can't make a recommendation, but if you go to the Sunnysky website and look at the different Kv options, look at the motor test data to sort it out. General rule of thumb is you can give up pitch or diameter for an additional blade. So if you see something that works in a 10x7 2 blade, that should give comparable results to a 9x7 3 blade.
@@RCVideoReviews thanks, I’d be running on 4s, the weight of the plane is 1260g. I have upgraded to a 70A esc as I had one lying around. I’ll check the website again, but would appreciate your thoughts
@@RCVideoReviews after looking at the website, I’m thinking v2 (black version), 900kv, as at a 1300g flying weight, that should be more than enough thrust?

I'm straight up impressed with this little motor. I think when you guys see it on the plane you'll belly laugh. You're probably right about the wrong hand comment. what do you think if i use a 8x6x3 propeller to this? do you think it will produce higher thrust or lower? or the same in the video? thankyou for the anwer. btw. thanks to this video. its really help us . keep it up sir.
If you compare the thrust to pitch changes, here's what I would expect to see with that swap: - Thrust about the same. You've gone down an inch in diameter, but added a blade. So I think thrust will stay close. - Speed will go up some because your pitch changed from 5 to 6, however, since you've added an entire extra blade, I don't think the speed will increase as much as if you stuck with a 2 blade because you've added more mass. Net effect of this is thrust is probably close to a wash, speed will increase some, amperage and watts input will increase. That said, I would measure with a watt meter. Results aren't always perfectly predictable. I shouldn't have seen prop stall on the 9x6 but it's the only explanation anybody came up with for the lower power development in this test.

The company has released a new series of engines version 3, claiming that the utilization is 30 percent higher, suggesting that you do a test for this series. SUNNYSKY X2216-III 1250KV

I just came across your channel and really enjoy it. What all did you use to build your JUDGE, I would really like to have one of them for my planes. Great channel!!!!
I used this: hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-thrust-stand-and-power-analyser-v3.html But it's discontinued at HK. They just white labeled it though. I think it can be found as a Racestar, or Trackstar, or something like that.
Hi Charlie, That one kind of goes against the grain for me. I normally buy and review motors that fit with the airplane review plan I have. If you'd like to send one in for testing, I'll put it on the stand. Otherwise, if I were in the market for a .15 class motor, I'd be looking at Sunnysky.

my only gripe with sunnysky is that now they're so popular they can't keep up with demand.

I will look for an opportunity to do that. I've heard this before on the v3 motors.
Os Motores Sunnysky são melhores que os motores da T-Motor ?
No estoy seguro de entender tu pregunta. Si pudiera elegir entre las dos marcas, buscaría Sunnysky primero, aunque t-motor es muy bueno.
