- Three things that define the Taigun’s cabin experience. First - it is a proper step up from the Polo and Vento -. From the flush-fitting infotainment screen to the VW logo on the steering wheel and the buttons - the VW looks slick and modern. Second, but it doesn't feel premium. The Taigun looks good and for the most part feels solid. But, premium - it is not. There are lots of hard plastics. Switches feel plain and even the leatherette seats look a bit budget. Third, the feature list is adequate, but lacks wow - the sunroof isn't panoramic, there’s no 360-degree camera, there’s no HUD either, no rear sunshades either.

It may not feel premium, but hold the steering, you can feel the Confidence and ruggedness of its chassis. The planted behaviour and road manners of this tank puts very big smile on your face whenever you look at it.

Its absolutely a step up if you don’t love the polo. And if by any chance you fall in love with polo, the only upgrade would be the new polo or a golf.

I own a 2011 MT 1.9TDI Laura.
I thought the Top end MT Taigun or Virtus would be an upgrade.
I went home from the showroom severely dejected.
Forget the absence of all the modern features. That itself is a deal breaker but No rear discs on a 150+bhp car? No thanks

i liked the polo's understated looks, the taigun feels too blingy with those overdone chrome panels in the front. hence I like the kushaq for its simple front design.

love the engine and transmission. inside is cheap plastic box. just hoped VW gave a little more options. leather seats, 360 camera, black interiors. . im in the market to buy, Was disappointment in i sat for text drive. leaning towards seltos DCT

I own a 2014 Skoda superb had the thought of upgrading to a taigun or virtus,but once i visited the showroom i was disappointed as even after spending 20+ lakhs on the top end variants there is no proper dashboard because it is riddled with hard plastics and even the rear bench is not comfy to seat three,i still own my superb and fortuner
High time, lack of sun roof in these variants, especially the top ones should be considered a PLUS... Certainly makes a difference in the sesting experience. Manufacturers should follow Tata Nexon on this aspect....
Polo was out of features when compared to competitors but it leaves them in the rear view mirror. Can we see this running?

I beg to differ guys, my polo 1.2mpi is a beast. Reaches 100 in about 13 secs. The best part is the stability at high speeds which most of the new cars cannot match. The spec sheet doesnt match the performance imho.

went for a test drive today in 1.5l DCT. love the engine and performance. inside take be back to 2005 Tata indica. really dated interiors. does not feel even a little premium. put car in revers saw the quality of revers camera. really really crap quality. interiors belong in the 2000's.
Yeah the reverse camera is like shit but I don't think so that the interior feels this dated bro
But what's stopping VW from making an Asian special or indian special Polo? They've got the modular platform for it right, so why not make a new Polo if the 6th gen European seems costly for India? It's got potential, we don't have any Hot Hatch in the Indian market or any exciting ones either..
We think it's basically the shift to SUVs means that product focus must be there, and until the SUVs settle in, no one will allocate resources to a hatchback project
Lol it seems like VW paid them too much 🤣 ever Polo/Vento owner knows that Taigun’s quality is no where near as good. Polo is a real German car, while Taugun is an Indian designer and engineered VW car.

It was quite underwhelming when i first got inside this car, I'm not entirely sure I can put a finger on anything in particular but just as an experience it's a Lil bit of a let down.
I have to say a Lil too expensive for what it is, you kinda get the feeling you're paying for the badge.
ADAS is absolutely unnecessary.
I don't know why auto journalists keep harping about it.
Well for one, customer are paying for it, so it must be discussed. For another, whether we like it or not, more and more vehicles will come with ADAS standard. And as is with all new tech, stuff that doesn't work today will get worked out.
When you get sleep while driving suddenly on highways..it helps to mitigate accident in that scenario. I feel it should be optional even from base variant

But I doubt Indian cars are at that level. I think that is auto pilot mode or something.
I prefer simple manual on highway.. To engage with gears.. Even automatic will make you sleepy

Agree, went for test drive. Got a flash back of 2005 tata indica. Foud it really cheap looking. For the price expected better.
It seems he is getting paid to defame Taigun. Fundamentally car is too good. No SUV has driving behaviour like this. It will put smill every time you drive. I am sure people forget those flimsy features on koreans after a while.
You need to have that taste to like it.
People who love driving long distances will never complain.

Engine and gearbox are made for each other and so does the suspension. All three work in tandem with each other.

Agree! But you are publically defaming this car each time I have seen. I havent seen any positive comments. Have you ever said that it feels premium when you drive it. I own one of it and I know where it feels premium. Volkswagen is not really making people fool and giving them good chasis, safety, engine and gearbox that results in premium driving experince at a price point rather than giving gimic features.

went for test drive today, was disjointed as soon as I sat inside. before this saw grand vitara and seltos. for a 24L car. interiors feel dated. expect a lot more features.
