    I used to work at a shoe store with my 25-year-old brother, and often at night-near closing when we'd straighten out shoes and clean the store up when it wasn't as busy-I'd play some of your videos to help me relax after a long and difficult day. When my brother noticed me listening, he'd ask what I was watching. I'd tell him about all of the videos I'd watched and the stories I'd heard-it was the best-we'd gotten closer, but he passed away unexpectedly in his sleep overnight on September 21st, 2022. Your videos are literally the only thing keeping me going right now. I miss him terribly.

    • @schrodingerscatboyirl
      @schrodingerscatboyirl ปีที่แล้ว +1

      sure, i can explain it to you no problem! i know it can be tricky to understand.
      in most of these videos, there are stories about somebody being sexually assaulted. im sure it's fine for anybody who doesn't feel compassion, and for those who don't have the trauma of experiencing something like that. what "coded" means is that you are heavily implying something without saying it. so, stories about sexual assault and those that have it heavily implied.
      when i say this, i do not mean it in a bitchy-kind-of-way. but those stories are deeply disturbing and should have a content warning before being shared. for context, i am about to use the word "trigger" as in the psychology term. these videos can be triggering to some, if not most people who have gone through traumatic experiences having to do with said topic. when somebody is triggered, that means somebody feels extremely distressed to the point of having a panic attack. it can cause an intense mood swing for the worse. for example somebody with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) can be triggered by things that seem unimportant to you, but can greatly effect them. unless you have it, it isn't something you can totally understand but that's okay. you don't need to in order to listen. it's just an example after all.
      this is more or less me simply sharing my opinion about my love for joel's videos before they got "triggering." i can cope with it, and so can many others. but hearing something so alarming without warning is never easy. it makes me feel sick and anxious to the point of dissociating, and not being able to breathe properly. but once again, i can handle it. i am an adult who can handle his trauma, but that is not the case for many other people.
      it is the same as taking a war veteran and putting a video of rapid gunfire next to his ear. sure, you may want to disagree with that! but you can't if you are unable relate on a personal level. everybody handles their trauma differently. PTSD is PTSD. doesn't matter what caused it!
      so if you are following now, that's great! if not, i can break it down further.

      @@ebenbelezakiala2506 THANK YOU!!! Me too, but, every time that I sat something, I am pilloried by listeners who say that they are enthralled by the narrator's narration. I guess the days when the average person knew how to read and was called upon to do so regularly, thus was able to and exposed to good narrators is so long ago, that people no longer know quality when they hear it. Shoulda just avoided M55 and gone a bit down the M6 to Charnock Richard services! There's a hotel there but even if it was fully booked you could go into the services for the loo. Why would you go somewhere you'd have to pee in the bushes!? Man if you go to Blackpool you're gonna witness a murder. Common knowledge.

      Also why did they go to Manchester for hospital? Blackpool has a hospital, Preston has a hospital, Chorley has a hospital, St. Helens has a Hospital. The geography doesn't make sense! If they were in Blackpool they'd have had to go past like 4 or 5 hospitals (a couple of them MAJOR ones) to get to a Manchester hospital.

    Getting lost on the highest mountain east of the Mississippi...that was a bit unnerving. Luckily my partner had a general idea where we were bc he used to work in the area. Still I was expecting to see someone with a banjo coming after us...🤣

    Your voice is amazing for these kinds of stories and you're really good at story telling, I love your channel. Tho I have a hard time focusing on your stories because there's just 1 picture for each story, maybe you could use more pictures like dark places or an abandoned house or something, just a suggestion and it's my problem but anyways I love everything else.

    Regarding Story Three - that just proves WHY people need to conseal carry, or just be armed in general.
    Do you hear that California, or anti-gun state, country or person?
    Then again, that is far from the only thing wrong with California's laws...or it's people...

    That girl that was driving home to San Diego… what was she doing in Nevada?? The drive from Tempe, AZ, where ASU is, to San Diego is nowhere near Nevada. Even if she actually meant she was attending NAU, which is the northernmost university in Arizona, there is no reason to cross into Nevada when driving from Flagstaff to San Diego.

    Story #1 WOW Story #2 I hope you got the tag and called the police! And kudos to getting involved. Story #3 People make fun of my "hyper vigilance". I NEVER go anywhere after dark unless it is a serious emergency. My hubby is asthmatic, once he asked me to go to a drug store for meds as he was having an attack and out of his. If I stop for gas (always during daylight hours) , I grab my debit/credit card, hide my purse and lock the door as soon as I get out. Friend of mine had her purse stolen at a gas station because she didn't. Lived in Georgia all but the last 11 months of 2022, got into training for the Peachtree Road Race and would run around Zoo Atlanta (just a 2 minute drive from my house at the time). I would get home around 4:30ish, change and go up to the Zoo parking lot. Was watching the news and caught a story of a woman carjacked at around 3pm. There is literally a precinct at one corner of the Zoo Atlanta area, about a 5 minute walking distance to the zoo. Cop cars driving in that area always. If someone will pull this in the daylight, remember they grow bolder when it is late and dark. Can't be seen and very few people if any out and about. Don't leave it up to chance like this OP, they were lucky.
