This old man has seen many bands from many genres of music. Ive seen the advent of mtv;ive been on stage with music legends, but I've never seen a group of musicians with the depth of talent and charisma than the beaches!!
Tim, I would have said the same thing. Started playing in the early ‘80s in the Southeast alongside bands like REM and B-52s. U2 wishes they were this good. Such depth! This other old man agrees with you!
Heard this song when they played in London this week. It was probably one of the best live acoustic songs I've heard in years. It was such an amazing concert overall!
This and "Shower Beer" are the best songs on this absolutely amazing album I've been waiting ten years for!! They finally got a production team to match their immense talent because this album sounds utterly fantastic!
Their ability to write blissfully silly pop songs like I'll Grow Up Tomorrow one day then serious heartfelt earworms like this the next day tells me they will be around as long as bands like Blue Rodeo and Sloan. Sometimes it takes longer than it should, but cream rises to the top eventually.
This song. Wow. It’s hard to listen to. It pulls me in to the center of all this crushing raw pain. Such a good album! Looking forward to Half Moon Bay on Oct 1st!
Im seeing them in Winnipeg this November.... and so far im in love with this album yet alone the older songs.... I'm gunna cry .. not gay btw lol 😅😅but I do love their music soooo much ❤❤❤
Hiding in your hoodie, pulling on its strings Haven't took it off since you told me everything God, I wish that you didn't Had to take a knife and open up the cut Silver in the light, watch it tear me up I'll bleed out any minute I could look the other way again 'Cause I learned from the best how to play pretend If a tree falls I don't wanna hear it 'Cause if I don't know I don't have to feel it If I don't see it going down Then why can't I just block it out? Watching you fall And I was nowhere near it But I heard it, and I hate it Back at the beginning, older than before Wish I could remember the girl who I adored I don't know where she's hidden Running by the water, sun-burning my skin Gotta keep on moving before it all sinks in How is he getting through it? I could look the other way again 'Cause I learned from the best how to play pretend If a tree falls I don't wanna hear it (I don't want to hear it, I don't) 'Cause if I don't know I don't like to feel it (I don't have to feel it, I don't) If I don't see it going down Then why can't I just block it out? Watching you fall And I was nowhere near it But I heard it, and I hate it If I don't see it going down (does it make a sound, does it make a sound?) Then I won't have to be let down (oh, I hate the sound, oh, I hate the sound) If I don't see it going down (does it make a sound, does it make a sound?) Then why can't I just block it out? (Oh, I hate the sound, oh, I hate the sound) Yeah, I heard it, and I hate that I did, now I'm hurting (oh) And I heard it, and I hate that I did, was it worth it? (Oh) If I don't see it going down (does it make a sound, does it make a sound?) Then why can't I just block it out? (Does it make a sound, does it make a) If a tree falls I don't wanna hear it
I’m convinced this band sold their soul to the Devil because they Can’t write a bad song! LOVE the direction on this new stuff! Sonically lush, emotionally exposed lyrics, Tight instrumentals. Damn.

"The Beaches, Plz!"

This makes me think of something you'd crank up at night on a road trip. Great song!
This is the only song that has a modern country sound, and yet it’s one of the best on the album

I don't know if it's intentional but it's like the band plays sunsets😭. And it's super fucking rad!
EVERY SONG JUST GROWS ON ME SO FAST KEEP IT UP GIRLS!!! SO TALENTED AND I AM OBSESSED WITH YOUR STYLE!!!!!
Probably my favorite song on the album!!
This song. Wow. It’s hard to listen to. It pulls me in to the center of all this crushing raw pain. Such a good album! Looking forward to Half Moon Bay on Oct 1st!
Just discovered this band through David Dean Burkhart's channel, instant crush on Blame Brett and this one.
Will follow up closely from now on !
Fantastic song, you really feel it 😢❤
This is my current fave! This band slays so much! In every way! Keep crushing it out there! Huge fan from South Texas❤
Finally the album is out!
The accoustic guitar and backing vocals give this song a bit of a country vibe.
Taylor Swift could have wrote and sang this one and it would have been an instant hit. That's how great this song is
Well now, this one is simply amazing.
Im seeing them in Winnipeg this November.... and so far im in love with this album yet alone the older songs.... I'm gunna cry .. not gay btw lol 😅😅but I do love their music soooo much ❤❤❤
I didn't even know they were playing at the Burt! Looks like a sold out show- maybe next time
As soon as I seen the blame my ex your dates I immediately got them... So excited...!! This Sunday!!
Playing this one on KNCE-FM this Monday morning.
Love this song, best on the album imho. As mentioned by others, it has a country vibe, it kind of reminds me of Brandi Carlile/Highwomen.
Hiding in your hoodie, pulling on its strings
Haven't took it off since you told me everything
God, I wish that you didn't
Had to take a knife and open up the cut
Silver in the light, watch it tear me up
I'll bleed out any minute
I could look the other way again
'Cause I learned from the best how to play pretend
If a tree falls
I don't wanna hear it
'Cause if I don't know
I don't have to feel it
If I don't see it going down
Then why can't I just block it out?
Watching you fall
And I was nowhere near it
But I heard it, and I hate it
Back at the beginning, older than before
Wish I could remember the girl who I adored
I don't know where she's hidden
Running by the water, sun-burning my skin
Gotta keep on moving before it all sinks in
How is he getting through it?
I could look the other way again
'Cause I learned from the best how to play pretend
If a tree falls
I don't wanna hear it (I don't want to hear it, I don't)
'Cause if I don't know
I don't like to feel it (I don't have to feel it, I don't)
If I don't see it going down
Then why can't I just block it out?
Watching you fall
And I was nowhere near it
But I heard it, and I hate it
If I don't see it going down (does it make a sound, does it make a sound?)
Then I won't have to be let down (oh, I hate the sound, oh, I hate the sound)
If I don't see it going down (does it make a sound, does it make a sound?)
Then why can't I just block it out? (Oh, I hate the sound, oh, I hate the sound)
Yeah, I heard it, and I hate that I did, now I'm hurting (oh)
And I heard it, and I hate that I did, was it worth it? (Oh)
If I don't see it going down (does it make a sound, does it make a sound?)
Then why can't I just block it out? (Does it make a sound, does it make a)
If a tree falls
I don't wanna hear it

Best GiRL band in Canada, It'd be nice if they could further internationally, they're very talented
If a tree falls... blame Brett.
great song
Another gem! Thanks gals! This kicks a$$!
"Blame My Ex" is a remarkable album; a triumph in every respect. "If a Tree Falls" is IMO the second-best song; "Edge of the Earth" is first.
All shows from October 7th to November 13th: SOLD OUT!
I’m convinced this band sold their soul to the Devil because they Can’t write a bad song!
LOVE the direction on this new stuff! Sonically lush, emotionally exposed lyrics, Tight instrumentals. Damn.

Does anyone know the chords they use? Would love to learn for my ukulele

I love youuuuu

not bad at all
Afe..I dont wanna know
If Taylor Swift wrote a rock song it would sound like this. A collab between the Beaches and TS on this song would totally (pop-country) rock!!!
This is how pop should sound like in the Ks. They remind me a little of Wilson-Phillips and Dream Wife.❤❤❤❤❤
Just discovered the band recently and helping me through a breakup ❤️🩹❤️🩹 love y’all !!! also the album is amazing
