No, I'm not 10. I would think the use of punctuation would give that away. As for where he went wrong: everywhere. 1) Demons don't require race fuel. Why put an artificial barrier on what fuel allows the car to reach its full potential? E85 is cheaper than 91 or 93 octane, and I use that in my Hellcat. But I can also use 91, 93, or race fuel. Does that mean my Hellcat running E85 is better than a Super Snake running more expensive 91 octane? 2) Weight: why would you want to drag race a car that weighs 4200-4300 lbs? Because it's fast, powerful, and afterwards, you can load the family up in it and drive them all home. Not everyone wants a car that you can only fit 2 people in comfortably. The Demon is designed to drag race. It has a drag suspension, a high stall torque management system, a line lock, etc. Why would you NOT want to drag a Demon is a better question. 3) Demons can run any of the races he mentions. Because it comes designed as a drag car -- and wears drag radials from the factory -- the speed is rated to match the DRs. That's not the maximum speed the car can do. As I noted elsewhere, it shares the same transmission and engine with the Hellcat, but has a slightly larger SC, beefed up internals, and a higher stall torque management system for launching with a transbrake function. If this Super Snake puts on DRs, it will also be rated to 167 or so MPH. The Pirelli tires the Super Snake comes with can't put down anywhere near 700 horses. Which is why we Hellcat owners often swap ours out for drag racing (I use Nittos for the street, and Mickey Thompsons for the track), and why the Demon comes standard with DRs. The Hellcat with the Pirelli performance tires can do 200 MPH. Many run the Texas and Colorado Miles 4) The Signature edition Shelby Super Snake with 1000 HP costs $155K. Take a Demon, pay 95K for it, and you still have $60K left to do mods, should you wish to go that route. I can guarantee you a 1000 HP Demon won't cost you anything more than $110k. I have no idea if a $155K Mustang will hold it's value long term; but I do know that it's too soon to say that it will hold its value better than a Demon, many of which have been selling for well over sticker. 5) Not everybody wants to drive a stick, especially when you have the option of using the paddles to manually shift. Not everyone feels "rewarded" working a clutch. I have a stick in my Jeep, where I like it for low gearing. I'd rather have faster shifting in my drag car. 6) Just because this guy is unable to tell the difference between the Demon and other Challengers doesn't mean everyone is as confused as he is. 7) There is no dilemma: a pro driver ran a 9.6 on a prepped course. Until you can do it, you don't need to worry about roll cages or parachutes. Once you CAN do it, you add the roll cage and the chute, or you don't race it on a sanctioned track. The roll cage on the Shelby is an option, but frankly, it isn't necessary unless it can put down the power it has. Which it can't do on stock tires. No way, no how, ever. 8) The "box-full of mods" are the drag package. Buying the drag package for $1 to make the car a drag car -- while it can still be a comfortable daily driver -- is hardly a drawback. When you can purchase a Super Snake box that gives you extra room for 2 passengers, give me a call. 9) Some of the dumbest "logic" I've ever seen. I don't even feel like dignifying it with a response. One example: just because Dodge compares the Demon to an "1.6 million exotic car" doesn't mean it needs to compare it to EVERY exotic car. The point of that comparison is not to say there aren't cars that can go faster; it's to show that you can spend an awful lot on a non-production vehicle and still not get a car as fast as the Demon.
Your car is not a production car. You cannot walk into a ford dealership and purchase a super snake. You have to first purchase a regular GT500 and then send it to Shelby and pay about 40k on top of what you already payed to turn it into a super snake. I do not favor one car over the other btw.
Actually you can....if the dealership has put a regular GT500 through Shelby America Inc.. I've seen them a couple of times at dealerships...but you are correct though. It is not a regular production car, but I don't think that was what Speed Phenom was saying about the comparison. I think the emphasis is that the Demon is just not or is not equipped to be a road going car. At the drag strip it is quick, but in now way will the car be good on the street or road course...or mountain road. On a side..have not seen a Demon at the dragstrip. I have seen Hellcats though and they are doing 11s to high 12s on street tires. I'm sure with drag radials or slicks they can match Dodge's "stock" reported times.

The dealership sent it out to have it modified! It is not a factory car nor can a Super Snake be ordered for Ford Motor Company! Again through 40K at a Demon and you can make it a road car also and it wouldn't take 40K to do it. Hands down the Demon and Hellcat are by far the better value.

Would like to see you take on a Demon with a driver that knows what he's doing. Pretty sure your car is no where near mid to high 9's. The HP difference between running 100 octane and 91 is less than 40HP. HP is mainly top end, so it's not the end all to a race. Also, you can remove the rev limiter on the Demon, one just hit 211mph.

If you are going to talk about cars you need to know a little bit about them. You see, those "videos" you talk about, what is the experience level of the driver? Trust me, I am a Dodge guy, but I will admit the Demon isn't the fastest thing out there all the time in every scenario. Also in the videos, is the Demon running race gas? If not, it isn't at 840HP. Did it have the skinnies on the front? If both of those are a no then that car is not going to reach the rated 9.5 (I believe one guy did better) quarter Dodge states. ESPECIALLY if the guy can't drive! So don't come on here and say just because there are a handful of videos then all GT500's are faster. I have seen plenty of videos where Demons spank 500's. dodge’s SRT performance group is just like Shelby is to ford. Ford requires the shelby to be sent to them for the upgrades where dodge just gives you a little bolt on box so you feel like you contributed. I'm a Mustang guy too('66) but your list is really a list of excuses. The Dodge doesn't require 100 octane, just to get the full hp. Different octane gas will also affect your Shelby's hp too, and any car, as the computer will adjust based on the octane. Style? That is purely subjective, but to me the Dodge is far better looking looking than the Mustang. And the Shelby's hokey quarter window pieces are ugly. The Demon crate are extras for taking your car to the drag strip. It's not like you are assembling the car. Stop being an ass. False claims. Wikipedia as your source? Pathetic. Very respectable but not demon worthy until you sent the car off to have it transformed into a super snake by Shelby American for the same price you got the original car for. So technically the super snake is not a production car because the car didn't come out of the factory making 850+hp. Still an awesome car though 👌

Challenger is much more comfortable. After you reach a certain age... This becomes much more important. All modern muscle cars are very fast and look pretty cool. My friend has an SS Camaro with almost 1000 HP and is very very very fast but,it's so uncomfortable to drive and even ride in. My other friend had a Super Snake and found out that it wasn't as fast as he thought when tried to pass four cars in a spot where he shouldn't have and totalled it. ( Not the brightest bulb on the tree.) At the end of the day, they all have their own merits. There's something for everyone's liking out there. Great content in this video. Couple observations and please by all means correct me if I'm mistaken, but first I believe the claim Dodge made was fastest production V8, not fastest production overall, second, unless you have other 0 to 60 and quarter mile times, the Dodge Demon still had the slight edge on the Chiron. I believe Chiron was 9.69 compared to 9.65. Lastly, why are even doing this video comparing the Demon to a road course vehicle? The Demon has clearly been marketed as a quarter mile car and the top speed is governed due to the tires the car is outfitted with, so trying to compare it's road course ability and top speed is pointless. If a road car is what people want than the Demon would not even be considered

Let me be clear hear, I am not disputing the differences he points out between the Super Snake and the Demon, the point to my post was comparing the 2 vehicles is comparing apples to oranges unless your comparing quarter mile performance between the 2 only. The Demon was built to appeal to the Drag Race enthusiast and the drag course is where it shines. If you are a road course enthusiast than the Demon is clearly not the car for you. Me personally, I am a car enthusiast in general and if money was no object I was buy both the Super Snake and the Demon. That way I get the best of both worlds. Lastly my comment about the governor due to the tires had nothing to do with the Demons lack of road course ability, but the reason why its top speed is so poor. Any idiot knows there are much better cars out there that can perform well on a road course and the Demon is not it. I'am sure someone at some point will take the governor off to see what the Demons top speed is, my guess is it would still be under 200 due to the gearing. Again the car is designed for quarter mile use only, so a high top speed isn't needed.

Those are pointless comparisons. The demon is Drag race only. Not top speed or a road course vehicle. I have yet to see another production v8 that has comparable numbers to the Demon on the Drag strip at this time. I agree the claims dodge makes is very limited to specific performance categories, but than if you want a Dodge with a broader spectrum of performance than you need to look at the Viper or don't look at dodge at all since the Viper is discontinued.

Thats right, since YOU are installing the parts. The Shelby is built that way. You pick it up from the dealership done and ready to go. The fact that it goes to Shelby before the dealership makes no nevermind. GT500, GT350 and GT350R. Pay the moneys and off ya go. But if you want to play that game, the Hellcat is the exact same thing. It isn't factory. It goes to SRT and has all the goodies added to an otherwise stock Challenger.

Sorry Bro. i have a Mustang myself - 67 Fastback - but I also have a Challenger Hellcat Widebody. With the pulley change and remap its had its not that far behind a Demon on a good day. Would I switch mine for yours? No way... There's just something about the new Challengers that has an "X" factor the new Mustangs just don't have. Good video and well argued - but the vital ingredient which separates the two is just the feeling it gives you. And the Challenger - for me - wins that by a country mile.

I appreciate all good cars no matter what the brand is it's obvious to tell that you're extremely biased and I promise you if you lined up with the demon in any form or fashion it would drag your ass regardless that it weighs more. The GT500 Super Snake is not a production car for starters and it's a terrible track car do not ever use that again for a valid discussion the chassis has been constantly proven over and over the limit of it is about 500 wheel horsepower anything more it gets pretty wild. Not to mention it's only available in a manual and it is nowhere near as quick is the 8-speed that Dodge uses in their automatic regardless of how good you think you can shift you will never win. Especially if your roll racing because this car never gets out of boost and the hemis gains ridiculous amount of horsepower just from a tune. You need to learn to give props when due, you keep claiming that your car is supposedly faster and better but yet you have no actual races or evidence to support your so-called claims. My money is on the demon and you getting your ass drag both and roll races in Diggs. Another thing I noticed you posted a video showing your car supposedly doing a 0 to 60 in 3.3 seconds last time I checked the demons 2.3 seconds 0 to 60 is faster, that's basic math and the car even makes less horsepower 840 horsepower on race gas compared to your supposedly 1000 horsepower mustang, that's an absolute lost in any book. And last time I heard a brand new Shelby 1000 was about $200,000 a demon was roughly 87k that's maxed out with every option you don't even win on that point 🤔

The base Shelby SS in $70k including the car, but the cheapest ones sell for $100k. This car has options galore that cost a fortune, it had to cost nearly $200k. I know someone who spent $250k for a Shelby modded GT500. Take a Demon and add $25k worth of mods and it's game over.
David Anderson you clearly didn't watch the whole video. The demon is made for the strip, but you can't use it on the strip because it doesn't have a roll cage, and there is no package that you can get from Dodge for a roll cage

Sorry but I have to disagree. The Mustang looks good but looks like most other mustangs from a distance. The demon sticks out (until wide body challengers hit mainstream). Demon is much faster unless you are road course racing, but muscle cars aren't made for that... they are made for the strip. Demon is a factory stock car with a warranty from dodge... super snake is not a dealer car from ford, it is custom from shelby. No ford warranty. If you put 40k in a demon it would be faster too lol. No, I'm not 10. I would think the use of punctuation would give that away. As for where he went wrong: everywhere. 1) Demons don't require race fuel. Why put an artificial barrier on what fuel allows the car to reach its full potential? E85 is cheaper than 91 or 93 octane, and I use that in my Hellcat. But I can also use 91, 93, or race fuel. Does that mean my Hellcat running E85 is better than a Super Snake running more expensive 91 octane? 2) Weight: why would you want to drag race a car that weighs 4200-4300 lbs? Because it's fast, powerful, and afterwards, you can load the family up in it and drive them all home. Not everyone wants a car that you can only fit 2 people in comfortably. The Demon is designed to drag race. It has a drag suspension, a high stall torque management system, a line lock, etc. Why would you NOT want to drag a Demon is a better question. 3) Demons can run any of the races he mentions. Because it comes designed as a drag car -- and wears drag radials from the factory -- the speed is rated to match the DRs. That's not the maximum speed the car can do. As I noted elsewhere, it shares the same transmission and engine with the Hellcat, but has a slightly larger SC, beefed up internals, and a higher stall torque management system for launching with a transbrake function. If this Super Snake puts on DRs, it will also be rated to 167 or so MPH. The Pirelli tires the Super Snake comes with can't put down anywhere near 700 horses. Which is why we Hellcat owners often swap ours out for drag racing (I use Nittos for the street, and Mickey Thompsons for the track), and why the Demon comes standard with DRs. The Hellcat with the Pirelli performance tires can do 200 MPH. Many run the Texas and Colorado Miles 4) The Signature edition Shelby Super Snake with 1000 HP costs $155K. Take a Demon, pay 95K for it, and you still have $60K left to do mods, should you wish to go that route. I can guarantee you a 1000 HP Demon won't cost you anything more than $110k. I have no idea if a $155K Mustang will hold it's value long term; but I do know that it's too soon to say that it will hold its value better than a Demon, many of which have been selling for well over sticker. 5) Not everybody wants to drive a stick, especially when you have the option of using the paddles to manually shift. Not everyone feels "rewarded" working a clutch. I have a stick in my Jeep, where I like it for low gearing. I'd rather have faster shifting in my drag car. 6) Just because this guy is unable to tell the difference between the Demon and other Challengers doesn't mean everyone is as confused as he is. 7) There is no dilemma: a pro driver ran a 9.6 on a prepped course. Until you can do it, you don't need to worry about roll cages or parachutes. Once you CAN do it, you add the roll cage and the chute, or you don't race it on a sanctioned track. The roll cage on the Shelby is an option, but frankly, it isn't necessary unless it can put down the power it has. Which it can't do on stock tires. No way, no how, ever. 8) The "box-full of mods" are the drag package. Buying the drag package for $1 to make the car a drag car -- while it can still be a comfortable daily driver -- is hardly a drawback. When you can purchase a Super Snake box that gives you extra room for 2 passengers, give me a call. 9) Some of the dumbest "logic" I've ever seen. I don't even feel like dignifying it with a response. One example: just because Dodge compares the Demon to an "1.6 million exotic car" doesn't mean it needs to compare it to EVERY exotic car. The point of that comparison is not to say there aren't cars that can go faster; it's to show that you can spend an awful lot on a non-production vehicle and still not get a car as fast as the Demon.
Your car is not a production car. You cannot walk into a ford dealership and purchase a super snake. You have to first purchase a regular GT500 and then send it to Shelby and pay about 40k on top of what you already payed to turn it into a super snake.

Actually you can....if the dealership has put a regular GT500 through Shelby America Inc.. I've seen them a couple of times at dealerships...but you are correct though. It is not a regular production car, but I don't think that was what Speed Phenom was saying about the comparison. I think the emphasis is that the Demon is just not or is not equipped to be a road going car. At the drag strip it is quick, but in now way will the car be good on the street or road course...or mountain road.
On a side..have not seen a Demon at the dragstrip. I have seen Hellcats though and they are doing 11s to high 12s on street tires. I'm sure with drag radials or slicks they can match Dodge's "stock" reported times.

Would like to see you take on a Demon with a driver that knows what he's doing. Pretty sure your car is no where near mid to high 9's. The HP difference between running 100 octane and 91 is less than 40HP. HP is mainly top end, so it's not the end all to a race. Also, you can remove the rev limiter on the Demon, one just hit 211mph.

If you are going to talk about cars you need to know a little bit about them. You see, those "videos" you talk about, what is the experience level of the driver? The Dodge doesn't require 100 octane, just to get the full hp. Different octane gas will also affect your Shelby's hp too, and any car, as the computer will adjust based on the octane.
Style? That is purely subjective, but to me the Dodge is far better looking looking than the Mustang. And the Shelby's hokey quarter window pieces are ugly.
The Demon crate are extras for taking your car to the drag strip. It's not like you are assembling the car. Stop being an ass.

Challenger is much more comfortable. After you reach a certain age... This becomes much more important. All modern muscle cars are very fast and look pretty cool. My friend has an SS Camaro with almost 1000 HP and is very very very fast but,it's so uncomfortable to drive and even ride in. My other friend had a Super Snake and found out that it wasn't as fast as he thought when tried to pass four cars in a spot where he shouldn't have and totalled it. ( Not the brightest bulb on the tree.) At the end of the day, they all have their own merits. There's something for everyone's liking out there. Great content in this video. Couple observations and please by all means correct me if I'm mistaken, but first I believe the claim Dodge made was fastest production V8, not fastest production overall, second, unless you have other 0 to 60 and quarter mile times, the Dodge Demon still had the slight edge on the Chiron. I believe Chiron was 9.69 compared to 9.65. Lastly, why are even doing this video comparing the Demon to a road course vehicle? The Demon has clearly been marketed as a quarter mile car and the top speed is governed due to the tires the car is outfitted with, so trying to compare it's road course ability and top speed is pointless. If a road car is what people want than the Demon would not even be considered

Let me be clear hear, I am not disputing the differences he points out between the Super Snake and the Demon, the point to my post was comparing the 2 vehicles is comparing apples to oranges unless your comparing quarter mile performance between the 2 only. The Demon was built to appeal to the Drag Race enthusiast and the drag course is where it shines. If you are a road course enthusiast than the Demon is clearly not the car for you. Me personally, I am a car enthusiast in general and if money was no object I was buy both the Super Snake and the Demon. That way I get the best of both worlds. Lastly my comment about the governor due to the tires had nothing to do with the Demons lack of road course ability, but the reason why its top speed is so poor. I'am sure someone at some point will take the governor off to see what the Demons top speed is, my guess is it would still be under 200 due to the gearing. Again the car is designed for quarter mile use only, so a high top speed isn't needed.

Again the Demon is a drag car and every dodge hater wants to keep throwing jabs at them and throwing out facts that go beyond the scope of what the Demon was built for. Those are pointless comparisons. The demon is Drag race only. Not top speed or a road course vehicle. I have yet to see another production v8 that has comparable numbers to the Demon on the Drag strip at this time. I agree the claims dodge makes is very limited to specific performance categories, but than if you want a Dodge with a broader spectrum of performance than you need to look at the Viper or don't look at dodge at all since the Viper is discontinued.

The fact that it goes to Shelby before the dealership makes no nevermind. GT500, GT350 and GT350R. Pay the moneys and off ya go. But if you want to play that game, the Hellcat is the exact same thing. It isn't factory. It goes to SRT and has all the goodies added to an otherwise stock Challenger.

Would I switch mine for yours? No way... There's just something about the new Challengers that has an "X" factor the new Mustangs just don't have. Good video and well argued - but the vital ingredient which separates the two is just the feeling it gives you. And the Challenger - for me - wins that by a country mile.

I appreciate all good cars no matter what the brand is it's obvious to tell that you're extremely biased and I promise you if you lined up with the demon in any form or fashion it would drag your ass regardless that it weighs more. Especially if you lined up next to it on a drag strip you are going to be needing a pretty big basket for all of your hurt feelings. The GT500 Super Snake is not a production car for starters and it's a terrible track car do not ever use that again for a valid discussion the chassis has been constantly proven over and over the limit of it is about 500 wheel horsepower anything more it gets pretty wild. Not to mention it's only available in a manual and it is nowhere near as quick is the 8-speed that Dodge uses in their automatic regardless of how good you think you can shift you will never win. Especially if your roll racing because this car never gets out of boost and the hemis gains ridiculous amount of horsepower just from a tune. You need to learn to give props when due, you keep claiming that your car is supposedly faster and better but yet you have no actual races or evidence to support your so-called claims. My money is on the demon and you getting your ass drag both and roll races in Diggs. Another thing I noticed you posted a video showing your car supposedly doing a 0 to 60 in 3.3 seconds last time I checked the demons 2.3 seconds 0 to 60 is faster, that's basic math and the car even makes less horsepower 840 horsepower on race gas compared to your supposedly 1000 horsepower mustang, that's an absolute lost in any book. And last time I heard a brand new Shelby 1000 was about $200,000 a demon was roughly 87k that's maxed out with every option you don't even win on that point 🤔

David Anderson you clearly didn't watch the whole video. The demon is made for the strip, but you can't use it on the strip because it doesn't have a roll cage, and there is no package that you can get from Dodge for a roll cage
But you need to remember this, Dodge get a prep track, with Jim Wilder, and 500 runs, so no average driver can do the 9.65 that easy, it would take a lot of practice to reach that time. Don't get mad at me, I'm just telling you the truth

Jacob Powers That 9.6 or 9.4, whatever it was, wasn't an average time. It was 1 lucky run they got on a colder day, perfect track prep, and just overall conditions were perfect. You're not gonna run 9's consistently.

Sorry but I have to disagree. The Mustang looks good but looks like most other mustangs from a distance. The demon sticks out (until wide body challengers hit mainstream). Demon is much faster unless you are road course racing, but muscle cars aren't made for that... they are made for the strip. Demon is a factory stock car with a warranty from dodge... super snake is not a dealer car from ford, it is custom from shelby. No ford warranty. If you put 40k in a demon it would be faster too lol.
Oh and horse power doesn't mean faster. A car with 800hp can be much faster than a 1000hp car. It's about getting power to the pavement and moving quickly and efficiently. Talking hp numbers for nimbers sake is worthless... might as well grab a ruler brah, because it's just as juvenile.
