I had a 82 z28, and a 88 sport coupe with the 305, both awesome seats for bad backs, both rusted away😢 had 384,000 miles on the 305. Drove it like a butt hole every day.
Yes, you DO need a 3rd gen F body however, do an LS swap with modern trans and it is a hoot! my 83 z28 is a 500 HP rocket ship now, and you giggle like a school girl every time you step on the throttle. Love these cars, they were built for handling and driving, just short on power.
Agreed, in stock form they're perfect for any teenager that wants to hoon it around or just have a fun comfy daily on par with a 928, but with an ls, best of both worlds, fuel economy and horsepower. The right gears with the right transmission and a tiny tiny cam, 350 horsepower 4.8/5.3 and 30 mpg hwy... WITH T TOPS... PERFECTION
I think it's 130,000 miles by the looks of it, but still an awesome car. My first car was a 1983 Z28 with T-Tops and a 5-Speed manual. I'd pick a 3rd Gen today if I had the spare garage space because I'd never let it sit outside.
I bought it initially thinking it had 130k with the sagging headliner and the pedal wear but after finding out the car sat for a long time I kinda doubt it.(i should prob make a video on it) Ether way 30k or 130k I plan on driving it as much as posible and I'm not to worried about resale value
@@theredtruckyt1193 I got mine in 1986 and it had 33k miles. Enjoy the heck out of this one! I put nearly 150k hard miles on it (16 year old kid back then) and enjoyed every minute of it, leaking T-Tops and all.
@@theredtruckyt1193 my IROC has 39k. It's been in the family since new so I know this is accurate. It does have a bad headliner, I think they are just cheap. It doesn't have petal wear though.
I have a 1982 red Z28 Camaro with a built motor with a big cam and headers with duel flow master 10’s exhaust at the rear end it’s really fast and loud just the way I like it 👍
A crate 350 and a carb would make a night and day difference in power and lots cheaper then LS swap but LS is the best option if you have some coins to play with.
I think they are a good builder and a cheap project. But it's an 80s car. The plastics suck, the electronics suck, the brakes suck, and every little thing besides the power train will go bad. The quality of the plastics and electronics was crap to begin with on top of them being almost 40 years old.
I was stupid enough to trade in my 1991 Camaro Z28 just to impress a girl, back in 2007. These cars are amazing.
Yes you wasn’t thinking
I still have my red 91 z28
@@karlgrimm4428 That's wonderful.
Lmao big trippin!
@NudaMan 😫😩😩 Exactly.
Just bought an 88 iroc. 5 speed. Mint. Everyone wants it
I’m still searching bro $$ is goin up on the 3rd gen
@@johnlynch6988 Ayyyyyyyye 💥✌🏾
I just bought a 1985 z28 383 5spd for $6,500 the good deals are out there you just have to be patient.
@@themannis479 Yeah that's true Congrats. Must be nice.💥✌🏾
I had an ‘87 IROC back in the day. Loved it and funnest car I’ve ever driven. Congrats and you will love it!
Ive had my 1990 for almost 8 years now and it's by far my favorite car.

You got a bunch of gems in that driveway
Man, I've been looking. Gotta have the T-Tops, for sure! I miss my '85

Hey, I also own a 83 Z28! It has a 350 that does a decent 450 horses. Nice to see someone who owns a Camaro of the exact year and trim!
Yep got my 86 z28 about to get new drive train from a custom shop. Cannot wait for the swap.
I was thinking I over paid for my IROC but seeing what people are paying for lesser cars I guess it wasn’t that bad.
Why care how much you paid for it if it makes ya happy, Ya can't put a price on that
Im pretty sure i got screwed buying mine
@@reaper_Z28what did you pay n what the condition
Nice find brother.
I love my hardtop Firebird with 350 swap.

i want your tan interior for my kitt
10 gs that's a steal
I'll keep my first gen.😊
I have a 91 Rs an 4 foxbodys , this will be the 3rd stock distributor I've put in it on its stock motor , does anybody kno why?
More like I need a 4th gen Camaro!!!!
I agree 3rd gens are going up in value but 4th gens are so daily-able especially the later 3.8 cars or ls1 cars
just brought a nice 92 Rs convertible V8 in low mileage before the price go rocket high
I refuse to over pay for one😂 I will be patient and wait til i find one for under 2000$ like 10years ago.
If that's 10k what is my IROC-Z convertible worth?
We've had one since 88 lol
ill stick with my 00 mustang
I own an 82 Camaro pace car, but I actually kinda want to sell it
Yes the 3rd gen is the best !!! Check out my 92 Camaro!
More like $1500
Your crazy
I bought an 86 Trans Am that needed restoration in 2015 for $1000. Now? No way. They'll cost you way more than that.
