Deja Vu is nothing short of a masterpiece. It is a beautiful, fragile ballad that kicks your teeth down your throat in the chorus. It is extra difficult to sort out, because it tells the story from two perspectives. You know how even evil people think they are the good guys? This is reflected here. One perspective is Yoohyeon's, who gets corrupted right in the beginning. She thinks JiU is bad (does not want to share power) and backstabs her and kills, imprisons or banishes the other members so that she can rule alone. The other perspective is reality, where we can see JiU be kind to Yoohyeon, but she gets killed for it. I believe this is a commentary on the different perspectives people can have about the same event. The lyrics seem to hint at an abusive relationship, where there are usually two perspectives as well, and the abuser finds excuses to justify their actions, while the abused find themselves in an endless Deja Vu.
Deja Vu is the one song that made me a true fan of Dreamcatcher. I just love their sound. Also, the video story is about the perspective of the evil people and the reality. Yoohyeon plays the evil girl who is envy and ambitious to the point she betrays/kills/destroys everybody around her, including Jiu - the good ruler. Yoohyeon was good in the beginning, but she got corrupted. She see things as if Jiu was the mean/evil person to her, that's why in the first sword scene Jiu is in black. but you find out jiu is pure, so she wears white clothing. After betraying Jiu and the others, Yoohyeon can sit on the throne but now she is all allone. So it's basically how evil people think they are the victim with their egotistical mindset.
Another theory is that yoohyeon was the ruler but became a bad one exiling and isolating the other members from power whatsoever , so jiu had to step in and took the throne ,Yoohyeon then rebels against her but looses .In the end jiu forgives her but yoohyeon stabs her in the back and proceeds to kills the other members as well and is left alone with the throne ,
the difference between the first scene when jiu tried to take the throne and the rebel of yoohyeon , is the chaos in the last one ,it adds so much sense into the story and their intentions .
I just saw Dreamcatcher in concert for the second time and it just reminded me of how good they (and their discography) are. I swear they sound and dance even better live than in videos.
Deja vu is literally a false memory. You remember something that never happened. In the song, one of the princesses (black hair) rebels against the rightful queen (blond) because she is overcome with dark ambition (the black mist). They had once been friends. Initially the queen spares her life, but is then murdered. The other court ladies are either banished, imprisoned, or murdered. At the end the usurper queen sits on the throne amidst a country wrecked by civil war. In her mind she justifies what she did by creating false memories that she was the victim and that the queen was trying to kill her. She's lost in this deja vu and is quite mad. The memories switch back and forth between the false ones and the truth. The usurper dressed in black is true, but dressed in white is false. Usurper in the coffin is false, queen in the coffin is true. The song was made to promote a Japanese mobile video game called King's Raid which has similar themes. The game later was made into an anime series. Dreamcatcher sang one of the songs, Eclipse, for the series.
Fun fact and To keep it short, Deja Vu, the song that should’ve given DC their first win. However, the lost made their journey for their first win more special ❤

The storyline is that the Usurper Queen is sitting on the throne, while she remembers what happened and having a moment of Deja Vu, as she relives the events. She's slayed her good friend, the former Queen and her friends to take the throne. She's regretting her actions, as she's all alone now, right before Darkness consumes her.
This....! This my first watching MV from Dreamcatcher, bcoz of this I'm curious about them and bcoz of this I become InSomnia ❤️

deja vu refers to recurring hardships in life. one of dreamcatcher's recurring themes is to not give up on your dreams but more importantly not lose yourself in its pursuit. dreamcatcher often warns of the 'dark side' within ourselves and it's portrayed her by a member betraying everything she once held dear for the dream of being queen but in the end ruled over nothing. there's a lot more to it with all the imagery and references within their discography but that's the short version :D

Deja Vu MV is a bit hard to decipher for one simple reason: it is a story told from two perspectives - but you are never told that explicitly. JiU is the benevolent ruler, but Yoohyeon becomes jealous, thinking she is more worthy of the rule. JiU forgives her treachery, which Yoohyeon exploits to literally stab her in the back, fearing that JiU hates her and would get rid of her. She then proceeds to exile or kill the rest of the people around her, believing they are all plotting against her. The MV shows you the reality that most others see, and the twisted paranoid dark fantasy of Yoohyeon. In the end, Yoohyeon rules over the barren land, alone on her throne.

Yes the most logical scenario , some also said that it could be yoohyeon who was the ruler cuz she wore a crown but became a bad one exiling and isolating the other members from power whatsoever , so jiu had to step in and took the throne ,Yoohyeon then rebels against her but looses .In the end jiu forgives her but yoohyeon stabs her in the back and proceeds to kills the other members as well and is left alone with the throne
One sad note is the choreo of then in trench coats shoes Siyeon, Dami etc miming the hand gesture of committing harakiri/seppuku (ritual suicide)
Dejavu still gives me goosebumps. Still my favorite dreamcatcher song up to date.

As for the plot, girls themselves didn't say much about it, except "this is story about friendship and betrayal", so all we have here is our theories.
Since it's a collaboration with mobile game called "King's Raid", I guess I can suggest a little explanation about the game plot and see if it has some parallels with MV.
So, what happened in game:
1) The main hero defeated the king of demons (I forgot the actual title, played it a while ago), but he got consumed by darkness in this fight and became the new demon king
2) Countries he was defending now raised against him, and he did quite a lot of damage on his way to hell
3) His best friend was hurt to see that all his friends turned against him, so she turned to demon herself and departed to rule the hell with him
4) Previous demon king was once a hero too, he defeated his enemy and became the new demon king just like our main hero - that's about deja vu part, timeline is kinda spiraling here.
What do we see in the MV?
1) Our main hero sitting on the throne in the beginning and getting consumed by darkness.
2) All her friends are against her now (she is in the middle in the "last supper" scene, it suggests she was betrayed by her friends)
3) She returns with revenge and destroys the queendom (we see the red skies and other omenous pictures in the window)
4) New queen still considers her friend ("I'll do whatever it takes to save you, even if my wounds will deepen" - the last chorus lyrics), and tries to settle things by forgiving her, but gets stabbed in the back.

i always interpret this mv as having 1 storyline with 2 viewpoints. the mv is the view of Yoohyeon and the song is Jiu's point of view.
for me (a german) its a great example of the german saying "to walk over corpses" meaning trying to reach your goal without any thought to the consequences
