- There was a time Marco Asensio, while playing for one of the biggest clubs in world football, Real Madrid was seen as one of the brightest young prospects in Europe.
Despite not being a consistent starter, there was a feeling that he was just one major opportunity away from becoming one of the biggest players in the game or at least at Real Madrid.
He was so good that even former Spain manager Vicente Del Bosque labelled him the most promising Spanish talent.
And just like that, everything all came to end.
He got injured and well............everything went downhill from there. He went from people seeing him as one of Ronaldo's potential successors to a liability and a failure.

Sad to see so many talents lost to injuries
Asensio was never the same after his ACL injury. In any other clubs, fans would be sympathetic and give him time to get to his best, the problem is it's Real Madrid and in Madrid it's either you sink or swim. Asensio can play for any big clubs in the world but yet to find his form at PSG and still a bench warmer to Dembele.
Poor Marco was so unlucky 😭.
