I really dont understand what people mean when they say things like that. Duh, it doesnt look finished till lashes, mascara and liner...bc its NOT finished until..... then. Does their base look "finished" and good before they conceal and set?!. Some people just need to say, really anything, just to complain lol
i hope i don't get attacked for this but compared to someone like iluvsarahii or nikkietutorials jackie's eyeshadow blending skills are not that good, karen's eyeshadow doesn't need lashes to look put together, same with nikkietutorials
No, dont worry about being attacked. I hope noone attacks you for your opinion. Youre entitled to it. I do however feel its bad form for anyone (not trying to single you out) to say things that are negative or could hurt someones feelings. There is no need. Everyone does things different not better or worse just different. Thats the beauty of the world, all the different colors and sizes of all things living. There is a place for everyone and everyone influences and is a role model to someone.
Christi Caballero yeah you’re right but there’s a difference between constructive criticism and malicious comments, no matter how anyone wants to put it, in general in the makeup industry there are levels of skill that can clearly be seen artist to artist, not everyone’s forte is blending and creating seamless almost photoshopped looking eye looks
some people have better skills than others that’s just facts no matter what job field ur in
someone can nicely tell anyone that they need to work on their blending, now if they’re saying it to be rude and make fun of someone i agree with ur statement
Braxton Payne nah i’m talking about the level of skill of blending, i think people mean sometimes you can throw on lashes and hide not that great of a blend on an eye look, i’m not saying she’s bad at eyeshadow i’m just saying compared to the two people i mentioned u can tell the difference of skill when it comes to blending
thank yooooou for pointing this out! and a lot of people often will name drop other youtubers in an attempt to downplay or compare each others skills to others. The truth is there is SOOOO much more to makeup artistry than just eyeshadow looks. there's building a flawless face, theres skin, there's brows, and so much more. Being able to do a cut crease or a halo eye is not the only qualifying factor for a skilled makeup artist. Everyone has different eye shapes, different features, and makeup styles. Even the way I do makeup on myself won't look the same when I do it on someone else. I don't get why people say all youtubers lack creativity, but then critique us when we put our own spin on things. not everyone is going to do super sculpted eyeshadow looks for every occasion or follow a particular look because it's popular on instagram. Some of the highest paid artists of my generation aren't doing makeup looks like youtubers do 🤷♀️
