      Thank you so much! It truly was a breeze to embark from Seattle. A little known fact about the cruise industry, is that all cruises between US ports by law must visit one foreign port. So while you embarked in Vancouver, our trip included a brief stop, 3 hours, in Victoria at night time. So either way you have to visit Canada on your way to Alaska.

    I would love to take an Alaskan Cruise one day. Thank goodness for closed captioning because wow you talk fast in some parts, like during the check in process after you threw away the water bottle. lol

      If you're looking to save some money on Alaskan cruise I highly recommend shoulder season like October. It's the only way it was possible for us this year. We literally saved about half price off of peak season.
      Thanks for the tip about talking too fast. That made me laugh. Lol

      I went back to rewatch the part you were speaking of. At first I thought maybe it was just my Ohio, slightly redneck accent. But I see that you're talking about Christine and her New Jersey accent. Folks from New Jersey do tend to talk quickly. 🤣

    Thank you for your reply. There's no way we can come in the night before because of his work, but I pray, I have some hope to make it. I won't be able to relax until i'm at the cruise port and they're letting me on lol. This paranoia, and anxiety is not worth it.

    We just booked and paid for a norwegian cruise to alaska. We'd let them pick our flights.. On the day of departure. I freaked out and was able to change my flight two a non stop Seven a m morning flight from saint louis to seattle. It calmed me a little bit, But I am still freaking out because so many things can happen. Our plane is scheduled to arrive at nine thirty a m.. I'm sure hoping we make it! My husband's work would not let him off another day. So, we could come in the day before. I'm praying we make it on time! Surely we're not the only people that have to fly in the morning of.

      I think you're right, you are probably not the only person flying in the day of the cruise. But like you said, there's a lot that can happen. If possible best to try to get the day off work and fly in the day or evening before. Good luck! Fingers crossed no issues.
      Sounds like you're taking the early morning flight. Flights in the morning are the least likely to have issues. Weather tends to be calmer, and you don't run the risk of pilots or flight attendants timing out, or the domino effect from issues earlier in the day.

      I've given up on NCL's flight program. The flights they stuck me on were insane, I cancelled the sir part of my cruise and booked my own flights. It's more money, but I don't have to fly in the cheapest seats. I got a great deal on Delta, and am now flying out in First Class, in 5 days.
      I also deleted the air part of my October cruise, and booked my own flight.
      3-1/2 hours in a tiny seat, would not be fun.

      At this point, I have paid in full and i'm praying to the good Lord to get me there in time. I'm at least grateful that I was able to cancel there. Air program that picked flights for me. I was able to do their new program called "Air Incentive program" Where I was able to get the very first flight out at 7 AM. And its nonstop. So much can happen still I know. I was literally making myself sick with worry, So I just have to let it go for now, just to have some peace. I told my husband we are never, Ever, Flying in the day of again, because I can't handle the anxiety of it. Norwegian booking the flights for me with this air incentive program. Saved me over two hundred dollars. So in the future I could still book through them and come in the day before through this program and save several hundred dollars possibly. We will see. I've never been on norwegian. I am staying on the Sun ship, So we may never sale norwegian again if we don't like it. The only other crews i've done is carnival. There's a lot of bad reviews, But when I went, the food was great lol

      @@jenkayla2492 in my experience, even when they offer the " free " airfare, you can still get a better deal booking it yourself. The promotion they run is usually buy one get one free, but the cost of one is more than the price of two on a different airline. By booking yourself, you're in complete control and you get exactly what you want.

    I miss the 25% capacity days vs 100% over crowded ship.

    Can you tell me from the point you arrived at the embarkation process, which you said was 130p, when did you actually get into the room?

    • @professionalweekenders
      @professionalweekenders  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The rooms were not ready until about 3:30 or 4 pm. But you can visit the buffet or gab a drink in a lounge while you wait 😃

    Can you walk from Pikes Place to the cruise ship?

    So do you even need a passport if your arriving late in British Columbia I'm going in August we don't get there till 8pm

    • @professionalweekenders
      @professionalweekenders  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes you still need to passport. I think you can get by with a birth certificate, but don't quote me on that. Even if you don't get off the ship, you need a passport. It's a US law that requires all of these cruise ships to visit at least one foreign port.

      If you have an Enhanced Driver License from one of the five states (like WA) that issue them you can use that for Alaska cruises leaving from a US port instead of a passport. I have done this. It works just fine as your Enhanced License is accepted for entry into Canada by water/land, but not by air.
