  • In this DIY tutorial, I'll show you how to make a Push Pole Shallow Water Stick Anchor for small boats and skiffs. I have to give credit to my friend Joe S., who inspired me to create this amazing anchor for my own watercraft.
For this project, I used a 10' x 3/4" fiberglass pole, an aluminum tip, a 3/4 irrigation T, Marine Tex epoxy, hockey tape, and fiberglass resin. These materials are readily available and affordable, making this a simple and cost-effective DIY endeavor.
This Push Pole Shallow Water Stick Anchor is perfect for those who enjoy skinny water fishing and duck hunting. It allows you to hold your position securely in shallow waters, making it easier to target your catch or set up your hunting blind.
Follow along with me as I take you step by step through the process of creating this handy stick anchor. With just a few easy-to-follow instructions, you'll have your own custom-made anchor in no time. Whether you're an experienced DIY enthusiast or a beginner looking to embark on your first project, this tutorial is perfect for you.

Thank you. I was looking for a way to attach one to my boat without drilling holes.

Great video, but that cleat in the middle of your casting deck? Why lol

You are not the first to question its position LOL. Basically, to go clamming I anchor bow out by channel. Big boats passing by make big wakes. I find it better to use a bow cleat. Personal preference!!

@@DIYeasycrafts not to mention it'll make your pole last longer and not splinter

Hummm🤔 solid fiberglass, well it’s strong ! But if it gets dropped over board is it going to the bottom , what was your total cost of your project ? Maybe a chunk of pool noodle at the t end to keep it afloat if it goes swimming .

Your correct It sinks like a rock. So far I have not had a problem because I slide it through a stainless D ring that is tied to boats cleat. The T handle does not fit through the D ring

@@DIYeasycrafts I’ve built one out of 3/4” pvc with a point made from a solid bamboo dowel epoxied on the bottom end my fear is it won’t be strong enough, haven’t tried it yet , but for now it’s just an experiment, I found an old surfcast rod someone tossed on the trash I might pull the guides off it and slide it inside and seal it up 🤔

Would this concept work for larger boats? I have a 26 foor tritoon

I dont think so. You would have to get a larger diam pole so they would not bend as much in heavy wind
