I used to look at Khalil Kain a certain way and to know he played this role so well made me look at him much differently. Like this scene is powerful but heartbreaking at the core. One hand you have a woman who came from a bad relationship and got raped in her own house in her living room from a man she thought she could build something with. On the other hand, you have a woman and man who decided to enjoy a night out but the man is hiding a deep secret that’s physically and mentally killing the woman inside. She hoped through this opera he would look at her with love and support but instead he looked somewhere elsewhere.
