Hello, Sorry did you mention in your interview that you were on maternity leave? Or did you tell them after? Also, did you resume immediatley or after you finished your mat leave? I am on mat leave and applying just like you did.
Hello Tomisin, I told them during the interview I was on maternity leave but emphasised the fact that my maternity leave was coming to an end as I had just 2 months left. Also I did my keeping in touch in the new post as it was still the same NHS.
@@OpeGodis Thank you! I have two weeks left on my mat leave. How do you suggest I bring it up in the interview? Or do I not mention it as I will be resuming soon. (Same trust. Diff department but same job and higher band)
Thank you for sharing I have a question Is it possible to apply to another NHS trust while on Maternity leave and resume there immediately after your mat leave without implication (for someone with COS)
You will need to go back to your NHS and work for three months before you can move to another trust or else you will be mandated to pay back some of your maternity pay. It’s best to double check with your Trust’s HR.
@OpeGodis Hello sis I just read through the Maternity leave policy It says it's possible to resume in another trust at least 3 months before the 15th month following the start of your maternity leave. So indirectly I think it means resuming in the new NHS trust anytime before the end of your maternity leave/before the 15th month. The policy also says you should resume for at least 3 months in either your present trust or any other trust if you have received OMP. But like you said it's best to confirm from the HR.
@@bmsolayinkaafolabi Thanks for letting me know. Like you have pointed out, I think the goal is to at least return to an NHS trust and not necessarily your present trust as long as it’s the NHS. Ultimately, do let your present trust (HR) know your plan and ask for advice. I really appreciate your feedback.
@@OpeGodis Ohk .. Thanks for your reply.. please I also want to enquire if I am allowed to enrol in a paid online course whilst on maternity leave with the NHS
