Have just come back to UK from Cala Millor. A beautiful island, but many of the hotel and restaurant staff we encountered made it obvious they did not like us. There were a few lovely people, mostly older. We were polite, respectful, non boozy, mature ladies. Maybe the younger locals are influenced by the adverse press coverage. We took a boat ride to Sa Coma, great fun on the boat, beautiful beach and azure sea, but be warned, no shade unless you spend. All the sun beds taken, so we paid to eat and drink in the cafe on the seafront. Sitting on the grass under the trees for shade not allowed. Not a great holiday and not returning in a hurry, sadly.
Thanks so much Alex for your top tips on things to do, I have now got my check list all set up ready to come out to palmanova 2 weeks today😊 nothing like being organised especially to a destination you've never visited before. Such helpful videos and links to information that usually takes me half my holiday to find out.

Last day of our 2 weeks in Cala Ferrara. Had zero anti-tourist vibe despite meeting hundreds of locals. It's not happening on any scale that will affect your stay. It's just paper talk and a minority of disgruntled people. Had a great time (except for the football!).

Just watched this video, very good information. I then watched the Aqualand video filmed in 2022, how expensive, goodness knows how much it’s gone up to now. A very expensive day out for a family. Thanks Alex.

Hi Alex, in puerto pollensa at the moment on the pine walk end, 2 sun beds and a parasol 27 euros. Gone up by 5 euros. Absolute rip off.
Just got back from Santa ponsa, been going to Majorca since I was 8 years old with my parents and now with my family sadly this will be my last trip, the general vibe from locals is different than 10 years ago. Every shop Pharmacist i went in tried to rob me scanning things twice a one lady tried to charge me 24 euros for 2 bottles of water and a hair bush.
Having said that I didn’t let it spoil my holiday and I enjoyed my wk in the sun.
The Spanish seem to biting the hand that feeds them as tourism contributes to 11% of there GDP. Anyway Greece is now getting my money. 🇬🇷

Not related to this video ,, but how much is the tourist tax when u arrive at a hotel over there now ,, per person ?
It’s around €3.75 per person per night. If it’s a 4 star hotel it’s a bit more. Under 16 don’t pay it. Hope this helps
