- A request from a viewer, the Bakon solder/desolder station.
This is a very good unit for the price. Good temperature control on both solder and air gun. Three preset temps for you to set for common tasks. Iron feels really good in the hand. Quite a few accessories in the box, almost pays for itself with the accessories!
All in all a very good tool, it you’re on a budget or just starting out this is a great choice, and for many people will be a suitable as similar Hakko or Weller semi-pro stations.

Great walk through. As a beginner hobbyist, I was considering buying this and spotted your Amazon review and vid. Thanks for this!
You're very welcome, thanks for stopping by!
This board was likely soldered on a wave line and uses higher temp solder, youll need more heat and maybe a larger diameter attachment on the end
You're probably correct, it's probably lead-free solder which I do not use or have much experience with. Thanks for stopping by!
I did not know the importance of the wire being heat-insulating because I did not have sufficient experience
Thank you for sharing your experiences with us
Thank you! And yeah, when I was younger I did ruin an iron accidentally by resting the iron on the cord, always look for high-temp silicon!
It turns out this station has a number of multifunction settings. The 3 buttons across the bottom were set on the middle setting in your video (Ch 2). Had you used CH3 it would have defaulted to 450C & flow rate 9. At that setting it handles heavy ground plane & power MOSFETS for example. Even then I backed flow rate to 6 to get better heat. FR=17 will blow small smt parts right off the board. 😂
To set the default temps & FR on each CH setting you press & hold the righmost bottom button. The gear looking button saves. You have to learn their crazy system but once you do it isn't too bad & the product seems to work well.
Ironically, I found your video looking for the how to. I enjoyed your video because you validated me! I ran into all the same problems you did, I just decoded more of the manual, because I spent more time with it. At least I wasn't alone. I appreciated your effort.
Thanks, and thanks for the details! I often *don't* look much at the manuals, even for these vids, because that's my usual user pattern, just open the box and start Turing things on. Kindathe Everyman approach to unboxing. That's also why I don't call these things I do "reviews", I'm just trying 'em, not reviewing them.
This looks looks like a great station but are the soldering iron replacement tips the standard 900M type?
I am not certain, the "manual" it came with did not specify. I tried a Weller tip and the heating element is slightly too large a diameter to fit the Weller ones. So I'm just not sure.
Once your happy with the product always upgrade the power cable to a silicone heat resistance one- this could be a life saver!
That would work! Thanks for visiting!
i think you put too much blow speed it cant get worm that fast when air is literally flying tru that small nozzle I think to you did flow rate to half it would work like charm and ofc more temperature... its not soldering iron its hot air :)
Yes, I dialed it back to about 1/2 later in the vid and it worked better.
Youre on Fahrenheit, change to Celcius - temp too low and youre (not) supposed to touch the board with the hot air tube, and GET YOUR CORDS OUT OF THE WAY,-! Youll be melting al your cords with the iron and the air gun
I have been using Fahrenheit for 6 decades, my brain is not going to recalibrate now! :)
