I'm studying Indonesian and Spanish. I saw some words in Indonesian that looked similar to Spanish but when I searched about them, they're actually from Portuguese haha.
More than words in Spanish, I would say words in Portuguese, both descend from a common language and I suppose that part of Indonesia has the knowledge due to the Portuguese influence in other times.
No. They're Portuguese. Spain is a little bit to the northeast, Philippines is Spanish colony, some part of Indonesia was under Portuguese Empire instead due to their treaty up until they got kicked out by the Dutch

No idea about indonesian, but japanes and spanish pronunciacion are really close. If indonesian is also similar to that, it makes sense.
