  • Today is something called the Winter Solstice, which also means it's the shortest day of the year! In Antarctica there's a bit of a tradition of going for an icy swim. And it looks like they do it in Tasmania as well. In the nude. In Japan they have a yuzu bath with citrus fruits and capybaras. In England, they light lanterns to look like clocks and then burn them in a massive bonfire. Overall, it's a cool day!
    FLOODS
Millions of people have been left stranded after massive floods in Bangladesh and India. Authorities are working round the clock to get people to safety as well as deliver food and clean drinking water. More than 50 people have died and millions have lost their homes as the two countries were hit by some of the biggest monsoonal storms in recent years.
    ART THE ARTIST
Gladys catches up with the 12-year-old Artist Art.
    STINGRAY
Coming in at almost 4 meters tall. And a whopping 300 kg. This is the biggest freshwater fish ever recorded! A team of researchers and fishermen caught this GIANT stingray in the Mekong River, Cambodia and the whole discovery is well very exciting!
    INFIORATA
In life it's important to stop and smell the roses. And here in Genzano, Italy well you can stop and smell the petals! Locals use 350,000 flowers to make this massive parade of colour…as well as seeds…bark…and even rice! The 'Infiorata' festival is a tradition that dates back to 1778 to celebrate a religious feast. And this art didn't really occur naturally but it sure is wonderful!!
    OTTER
Finally, it's time to meet Jenny the albino Otter! A fisherman spotted her in the Tigris river, Iraq. And after posting a video online he found out Jenny isn't just cute she's super rare! According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature this is only the second time an albino Eurasian Otter has EVER been seen in the wild. So, experts and environmentalists have come to check on her, but it looks like she just wants to enjoy her fish!
