Yes, an unplanned visit to the mountain often turns particularly surprising. Spontaneous events really enrich the experience. We visited this area just at the time when the last snow melted. I missed this wild, intact and clean area, washed away by the cold winter storms that started when I left it for the last time. Although it was a long winter I did not have the opportunity to enjoy it. Late spring climb and as always short stay .. but that was just the preparation for the next visit a month later. And here we are again but it is the summer now. The night in my small tent set at the edge of the forest. Early in the morning we realized that the bear family had already checked us out. They left the label in their own way, fresh droppings, ... probably a mama bear. Setting up a tent in such the environment means that a bear encounter is quite to be expected. I was sleeping in the night with a deep sleep and I did not hear anything but Mario said ... so that was the noise that was heard from the tent in the middle of the night !? Our tent was probably set up on their own path, where the bear descends to the grassy meadows where they spend the night at this time of the year. In the next couple of days we went to the surrounding area and visited beautiful places I could never imagined such would exist. The beauty that radiates can hardly be described in words. And then, as usual, before the twilight, we found the bears. Two young that were probably just getting separated from their mother ... but even though we could have expected her, she did not show up. Probably there must also have been another, younger generation with her. We did not approach them, but took some nice shots from the distance. I am aware that many people can't even imagine such the scene in the wild ... we should be extremely happy. The bears did not notice us ... we left them in peace and left the area the next morning. The full moon at the of the video is gorgeous 💗...it is very pleasurable and exciting to come along with you in the forest and get to see the wonders of the forest ...beautiful video dear Pavel!! Thank you !
_A fantastic adventure in indescribably beautiful nature, and a gift to be able to watch the bears, incredibly beautiful, great shots! I am very excited. A stay in nature, from which one can eat long time .... great. Best greetings from Germany, Angela_
What a beautiful movie, dear Pavle. It was such a great feeling to see the Velebit mountains from your point of view. I read somewhere, it's not WHAT you see, but the way YOU see it and this really holds true in this case. You always present a quite different and magical view from others. The way down the dark road reminds me of when I used to travel Mt.Tremblant, very carefully, because of the bad roads and hoping always that some animal would not pop out in front of my vehicle. The bear droppings signalling something special, a bear, no doubt about it and the anticipation of seeing one and finally being rewarded. The bird sounds emanating from that forest scenery are not familiar to me, although I think I heard the Cuckoo bird near the end. The little Monitor peering shyly out at you and finally, the icing in the cake....the Brown bear minding his own business as if he doesn't have a care in the world. How lovely....and Mario with his long, long lens having the time of his life. Beautiful trips and wonderfully filmed, as always. Joan ywm
Oh yes I've heard that, too ... "it's not WHAT you see, but the way YOU see". First I really have to thank you for your great comment. As you mentioned the dark roads ... quite often or I might even say, always, I used to travel those roads by night ... to check for the possible wildlife or simply because in such the interesting environment I couldn't sleep but use every single moment being in the wild active. I even used to drink a bit more coffee that helped me stay awake ... usually in mountain huts with forestry workers who were returning home after finishing their work near evenings. Besides, through all those years I learned to track wolves mostly at dusk or dawn and that is the time when I had results filming them ... although those wolves were used on me because I raised them myself. Even other wildlife as you know well, can be seen mostly in the same time as Mario and me filmed those bears, evening. It becomes risky for the cameras especially those with long lens ... you know that well, too. There were two older cubs alone as I described, one still got that typical white collar as most of smaller cubs have. We haven't seen their mother but she knew were we were, absolutely. That nice bird singing late afternoon and mornings is Black bird ... at that time and in summer I heard Nightingale, too. The Cuckoo for me is almost the simbol of new fresh morning in the mountains but it sings at evening, too. It is always well hidden and difficult to be seen. The trip was just an idea as we both have the chance to go that time. We planned to join many times before but it never happened. He himself prefers Plitvice lakes the National Park were he spent quite a lot of time. I told you about him before. Hope we'll have the chance to visit those mountains this year at least once before the snow. (ywm)
You simply surprised me how quickly your comment showed up because just awhile ago I posted this video and came to check it here as published. I am very glad you like it ... hope it does show at least a bit of atmosphere from there where I really feel myself like home. Thanks Andy.

Hi Pavle, I just picked and clicked this footage totally randomly and wow! what a fantastic place to be at one with nature. There's so, so much territory to explore there and some wonderful bird calls. It was interesting to hear the Cuckoo calling, as it has a slightly different tone to our own Cuckoo I hear in the UK. I loved the bear too and will have a look at some of your other footage at random times. I must add, that track road you drove down... it looks like you have to run the gauntlet of the possibility of falling rocks! :) Very enjoyable.
I am very glad you visited these mountains on my video at least this way, virtually. I know them well enough ...spent many years visiting them for real to be able to share such short virtual trips in public. I added some description to each video to explain more details. Most of them are presented like in "real time" so you can enjoy discovering the wilderness and wildlife as I did. Take a time and join my journeys.
Thanks for stopping by my channel. As you probably noticed here are more than 100 uploads already, most of them on the mountain wildlife and my own experiences from the wild. Take a time and check the rest of the archive extracts I am sharing. You are always welcome.
Welcome back my friend. Hope you spent your summer vacations well ready for the rest of this year. I have been mostly home ... repairing my Land Rover. She deserved some care of mine after so many years (20) in my hands. This season has been extremely warm, with much to high heath and even fire in the wild mountains especially along the Adriatic Coast. I do not like summers much but winters are what I really prefer. I sorted some equipment and am ready for the winter, perhaps wolves would be an idea to search for this time. Mine at home they say ... will you be able do get there alone again? I know I am getting older as we all do, but still something pulls me hard ... to get up there, high in the mountains. Regards from rainy Croatia.
I have been eagerly awaiting another upload from you & your amazing adventures ~ Beautifully filmed as always ~ You always manage to capture my suspense with your clever sound techniques ~ It is raw but also polished ~ I just love your films ~ Something to look forward to ~ A moment of calm amongst my storm ~ Thank you Xx 🐻
Nice message, indeed. Thanks. I hope soon to start uploading short parts of my long documentary on wilderness especially wolves ... the project that is waiting my decision to finish and complete it like a documentary or break it in some shorter pieces to be uploaded here (!?). It was extremely hard work to edit that from really huge amount of archive footage and a lot of various formats as many different cameras recorded that through many years. Besides I have new footage to sort too what simply shortens my time to ... In a way I am afraid that I won't be able to prepare all the footage for viewing. ... and I am aware that I am the only one who could know to explain what is in fact filmed on it. I am very glad that you noticed the way how and why am I presenting the wilderness that way. My intention has always been to show it as real as possible. The truth. Nature is like a masterpiece in every detail. Paul..
Oh I totally think you should make it like a documentary ~ Of course I would equally enjoy watching many of your short clips & films on here, but I am always greedy for more, so in that respect, a nice lengthy documented piece would be right up my street & I could get lost in it for an hour or so… I know life is short & we can’t make real plans, but I don’t like it when you say you might not be able 2 finish it in your lifetime, it makes me sad, because time is something none of us can turn back or lengthen & as real as those statements are, you are the one with those magical memories locked in time, for always, these are your secret captures & they should remain yours ~ You don’t have to give it all in this short space of time we all have left…you have given us so much already, even just with giving us Lik & his family ~ Your story & travels with one beautiful wolf may have changed the world for many… Keep on keeping on…🐺 Xxdawn

Besides, there is the option to translate any language so that English can't be as dominant as is. People from English speaking areas are almost like privileged by all means.
Take care and keep on working on your new ideas.
