Now I know why we was allowed to wear our unit citation the Croix De Guere as a shoulder patch as I was part of the 1/51 Battalion that was once a division,Hurrah K Coy 1/51 my heart is at peace,as my Granda fought in both WW's and my father and all my uncle's all 6 of them,and they all came home,lol exceppt my uncle Dante who demobbed in Australia and stayed married and Irish lassie ,the only sailor in the RN of all of them LoL,God rest them all,as they are all peace now,RV later lads.
I heard this song so many times when I was a young boy. My mother played it since she lost her older brother in 1943, WW2. All very sad.
Heard it a funeral today for an ex service man. Very fitting
