- In this video you can see the oil and oil seal replacement process on the front fork of my 650 Transalp.
I would like to thank Cosmin Zgirdea from Timisoara. Thanks to him I managed to do this operation. He took care of everything and did an extraordinary job.
Even though it had no oil leaks, it had to be replaced the oil and oil seals, because they were the original one from 2001 when the motorcycle was built. I chose to put back the original dust rings. They have that metal insert and the rubber was still soft.

Hello. Love you videos, excellent job. Keep it up. As you do a lot of kilometres with a Transalp i would like to ask you a couple of questions regarding the bike, since i recently got one. I done 2,5K kilometres and noticed a drop in oil level to about slightly less than a half of the measure. Does yours consume oil? And what brand of oil do you use? Also what is your average fuel consumption riding with a passenger? Thank you very much.

I'm glad you recently bought a Transalp.
To start somewhere with the story... Unfortunately, many Transalp owners do not use these motorcycles properly. They think the TransALP is a speed motorcycle or compare them to the 1000cc. And they start going on the highway with them at 140km / h with two people, a lot of luggage, etc. This also automatically leads to oil consumption. This Transalp was bought by my brother in 2005, with 2147km on board. From 103,000km the motorcycle is with me. Today he has 159,000km without having done anything on the engine, not even an adjustment of anything. I change the oil somewhere between 6 and 9,000 km. For many years I used MOTUL 10W40, 5100, Semisynthetic. But it started consuming oil after about 4-5000km. So I decided to switch to Eneos 10W40 Syntetic for about 3 years. At an oil change fill about 400ml. I buy 3L, I put 2.6-2.7L in the engine. And after about 4,000km I complete those 300-400ml and go on until it drops to a minimum, then I change it. So I could say that at 6-8,000km it consumes less than 800ml of oil. But the secret is that this motorcycle has always been used up to 100km / h. This Transalp 90% of his life was with two people. But we always went well and gently. We didn't believe us in the rally. The average consumption is 5-5.3L / 100km at this rate. 😁🤝
@@LutziferVideographerVow. Thank you a lot. Mine has only 46K on the clock. It was ridden a very little for the last few years, now i started travelling with it. Sometimes i am riding more aggressively so that explains it. I also used MOTUL 10W40 5100. I just noticed the consumption of around more than 7l when i drive over 100 kph. But i have Mivv exhaust so i will try to fiddle with carb. Thank you very much for replying. Keep up the good job. If you need some recommendations for traveling in Bosnia, there are a lot more beautiful places you cam visit. Especially the off road terrain type.

nice job, just did mine same home made job on the ground .......... good cleaner is also: Fuel with compressed air it dries quick.

Salutare, teoretic da. Ar trebui să fie la fel de la cel de 650 la modelele de 600 , an 97-2000.

At this motorcycle, I didn't adjusted anything. Not the valves, doesn't changed the clutch, etc. Nothing 🙏☺️ 186.000km now. 💪😎

Hello 🙋 In my case it was normal to be so bad because it was the original oil from 2001. At 155.000km. 🙏☺️

Salutare 🙋 mecanicii spun la aprox doi ani. Într-adevăr la mine s-a exagerat puțin 😬 a fost cel original de 21 de ani. Dar nu a curs, nu am simțit să mă deranjeze. Da, după ce l-am schimbat am simțit diferența mai ales pe curbe cu denivelări. Altfel stă pe drum...
