I was putting together my tiles for Terror in the Dark, and thought "Hey, while I'm here, I may as well make up the Space Crusade content too." Then I couldn't resist using it straight away!
Looking forward to this. I have these issues of White Dwarf with the extra rules and this campaign. So looking forward to seeing it in action. The only thing I’m missing are the Tyranid Warriors. Were you tempted to swap out the Terminator squad for a Scout Squad? 🤣
Ha. I do have the rules for scouts and will be doing a playthrough with them at some point, but this campaign specifically says you should use termies (or regular marines if you want a massive challenge).

Nice! Probably a bit late to be any good to you at this point, but as a little side-project this last year, I went and did a graphical recreation of the special counters & cards for this, and the other White Dwarf expanded rules. Just so that they'd look more like they fit with the style of the vanilla game pieces instead of photocopied out of an old magazine. If you want to give them a bash though, let me know and we'll figure out how to get the files to you! ;)
Thank you. That's very kind of you, but part of my thing is using original components and original art as much as possible. I've made up every element from the White Dwarf magazines, mounted on backed greyboard and sealed, and I'm very happy with them.
@@aerouge4492 I would just mention you can find scans of the White Dwarf articles online, so you don't need to hunt down the (stupidly expensive) original magazines.
Flippin Awesome! Can't wait, love the fluff. Played three games today. Blood Angels, fluffed the first game. TPK. Second game I won, but the commander died melee fighting the Dread. Third game was a win! Inspiring stuff.
Space Crusade !! ... my favourite !! :D I'm hoping that for this next series of play throughs you might invite a friend or two round to play with you for the videos so that your opponent(s) might surprise you :) Another idea is to invite members of your audience to write and submit missions of their own design for you to play through the ones you like to encourage viewer engagement, you could run it like a competition or just leave it open ended, if you like the idea :) Just an idea but it would be interesting to see the creativity of your loyal audience receive some light, you could post up your three favourite entries on to your web page, or more :)
As a father who runs a TH-cam channel in his off time, I'm lucky if I can sit down to shoot a playthrough by myself. I have to take time away from work and shoot during the day when kids are at school and the house is quiet. The logistics of getting a group of people together on a work day, who all have their own lives going on, means the chances of a group playthrough are close to zero. Plus, the chaos that ensues when we are together would not lead to the best videos. I like to be able to explain clearly what's going on, get the shots I need, and try not to make too many really bad mistakes. My playthrough style just isn't geared towards doing it another way, and I can only imagine how bored everyone at the table would be as I stumble over my line for the 12th time trying to explain a particular situation before the game can continue. I don't play or review homebrews on the channel. It's not my place to grade the work of other fans. I think the best thing to do for that is get the missions put into pdfs and upload them to Board Game Geek where everyone can download and enjoy them.

No worries. It's a fair request, but at the moment, it just isn't something I can feasibly do. On the few occasions when I have done group playthroughs (like in my D&D playlist) there is a very different energy. It's very silly!

Hey, homie- I'm currently working on something similar but without Astartes. I'm doing a sort of 'Darktide' themed co-op game with players controlling Inquisitorial Acolytes (basically anything from Tech Priests, Vet Guardsmen, Arbites, Gangers, or generally whatever they want) against Chaos Cultists, Traitor Guard, Poxwalkers, and the like. I've been using the most recent Space Hulk board game puzzle tiles, but I gotta say I'm jealous of your setup!

I can't believe I like watching some dude play board games on his own as much as I do ! 😅 keep it up .. love it I'm looking for upgraded buddies for heroquest I've got a load of Miniatures which on painting chaos Warriors age of Sigma and kruleboyz wanting to get some chaos marauders and skaven put into the game as well just need to write up their schematics weaponry and armor and such and such
I love this idea!!! I absolutely love Terminators, and having them in Space Crusade will be so much fun! Will the flamer have limited ammunition? Will the Flamer AOE also damage fellow Terminators? Please add the Assault cannon, thunder hammer/storm shield and lightning claws! I can't wait!!! Will you allow some form of overwatch?
Flamers don't have limited ammo, but all AOE attacks in Space Crusade will hurt friendlies, so you have to watch those tight spaces. There is another terminator playthrough on my channel that uses other equipment like lightning claws and storm shields, but for this campaign, the squad in the trailer is the one that's going in. And no, there are no rules for overwatch in Space Crusade, not even when using terminators.

I'm sure you could probably come up with something. I think the Space Crusade miniatures would seem quite large and chunky compared to the Star Sage ones, but any game can be a tool box when you're feeling creative.

I'm going real old school with nothing painted. The truth is, Space Crusade and Advanced Space Crusade are in the paint queue, but behind Advanced Heroquest and a few other things. It's going to be a while until I get to it, so I thought I would just go for it anyway.
Why is your fallback position always terminator squads. Scouts lose in Lost Patrol.....terminators. Eldar lose in Space Crusade.....terminators. What happens when Tsubasa dies?
Because terminators get it done. It does say you can play this campaign with the regular marines, but that it's "balanced" for the termies. We shall see. No amount of terminator armour can protect you from my dice rolling. Funny you should mention Tsubasa. Last week I figured out how I wanted to build the board for his final outing. I'm not sure many people will care as it's been so long since the last Rangers game, but I need to wrap it up. Other things just seem to keep getting in the way!
