If it hadn't been for the movie on You Tube to view free, I would have never known this incredible story. I wish I could have had a bunch of teachers like Ron Clark. I was scared of my own shadow and afraid to speak up in class throughout my time in school. My kindergarten teacher should have retired 20 years before I entered her classroom. I was terrified of her. It was easy to look back and see who my best teachers were just by looking at my report card. I had A's and B's in classes where I did well, and struggled to keep C's in the classes with difficult teachers who had no time to explain things so that we all understood. Ron Clark needs to be cloned to create great schools from sea to shining sea.
Clark was a keynote speaker at a workshop I went to some years back as part of a district PD. He was very energetic and charismatic....a master performer. He didn't offer much useful information, but he sure had a lot of spunk. I doubt if he would still have his energy if he taught in a teach to the test public school where republican politicians disenfranchised the educators by silencing their voices and cutting their funding.
I wish he was my teacher when I was younger, I'm in the 9th grade now, but my teachers in the beginning they gave up on me and made me go to the front with the principal everyday
this intrigues me... Im a British English teacher at a large middle school in Hunan, China Ive a good rapore with many of my students now but the school days here are very long for students... they aren't really badly behaved but motivation can be a huge challenge
I'm worst teacher ever. I can't maintain discipline in kids. They won't listen to me. They say I'm too nice. I'm too kind. I pity the kids. I myself a kid coz I don't have no discipline myself
