Isn't Cologne Indélébile full of woody ambers too ? Speaking of AdP, The original gets my preference with the Colonia Futura which was really interesting. The Futura one had quite an different style (less smooth) compared to the OG but instead was beautifully raw.
I find most of this brands scents are quite nice, but most of tried do not last long. It's hard to justify purchasing when they are so weak. Great review by the way.
A very happy Lunar New Year to everyone from Hong Kong. Chinotto still readily available over here and got a bottle on your recommendation Mr. P. Looking forward to wearing it when the weather gets a touch warmer. Really like their Zafferano, but baulked at the price.
Aqua di Parma was one of my first perfumes I bought in Milano at their store opposite where I stayed at the Four Seasons in Milan, when I discovered my perfume journey. Love it.
Not-a-surprise-at-all. Ever since 2015, it seems like the conglomerate tagline has been that every fragrance MUST be reformulated into a woody amber. 🤑 Here's me - - - > 😱 But undoubtedly according to the brief, perfumes MuST both last and adhere to an ever dwindling budget, and apparently that's the only way. 🤦♂😖 I have so much compassion for perfumers these days.🎭
I hate that companies use the term "modern" nowadays. Many of us want the old school/classic feel in our fragrances. I can't imagine AdP marketing towards youth who want everything to be loud and sweet.
Part of my roots are from a hot, humid area where Acqua Di Parma Colonia is an iconic presence. I doubt that a woody ambered Cologne-ish EDP will resonate. Sigh.

I think lots of perfumes contain woody ambers -- the problem is when they're overdosed.

Thanks very much indeed.
I don't think Il Profumo could be accused of not lasting.
@Persolaise thanks! That's good to know...maybe will sample this one .
Just received this today it’s honestly amazing long lasting and classic a true gentleman smell can’t wait to spray it on after a clean shave
I'm so pleased you like it. Thanks for watching.

Stock up on Chinotto!

Wonderful. Treasured memories.

I do hope people get bored of woody ambers soon.
Yes Don!

I know what you mean. But I think that often, classic doesn’t sell.
Tried all the colonias and essenza won. I don’t care for citrus and herbs. I bet this is too expensive anyway so I’m not worried
I seem to remember liking Essenza too.

It'll be fascinating to see how well, or badly, it does.
Woody ambers belong NOWHERE in my humblest opinion. I’m sad that AC have gone there when their current line up is generally so natural smelling.
They do have a place in perfumery, I’d say… but it’s the overdoses I have an issue with.
Dear lord, not another woody ambery "interpretation" of a classic... How I miss the old mossy bases! Damn IFRA!
I wonder if one day there'll be people bemoaning the death of woody ambers...
I can definitely see that happening, history often rhymes as they say. Just probably not in the near future, sadly, I would say.
