Another hugely enjoyable video! Your new colour palettes are lovely. I really need to check out the DeepDeepLight watercolours. Cedar Teal - wow!

As always, a super lovely and oh so cozy art video. 💕 You have such a strong artistic identity that comes through on all of your art. I keep meaning to get some watercolor from Deep Deep Light, but then I forget.🤓 Their blues and greens are magical. Thanks for sharing.

I loved your dog supervisor. I always put out some sort of figurine or statuette while I paint. I have a silicone crab brush holder that makes me giggle. These things are important while you create. Fun and whimsy are of very high importance and priority.

Watching you making that swatch grid was a joy. The fact you didnt go row by row created beautiful patterns on the grid and watcing the patterns change and then slowly disappear into colour was lovely.

I always add a drop of gum arabic and a drop of honey to all Daniel Smith mineral colors when I squeeze tube paint into pans. This makes them very easy to rewet.

This was another excellent video Kriksis regarding palettes, including the added humourous moments (match lighting) and experimentation. I liked your clay dog: very cute. Thank you for being inspiring 🦋

That’s an amazing chart you’ve made with your watercolours! I remember doing this many years ago at art college. It’s such a helpful exercise to do.☺️ I need to put a ban on buying more art materials too although I absolutely love spending happy hours deciding what to get!

The Coastal Fog is actually PW6, PBr7. And the Buff Titanium is PW6:1. (I've not used Coastal Fog, but I have other brand's comparable mixes. And the Buff Titanium is a staple for me) 🥰
If you swatch them side by side with a lot of water, you'll probably get quite a bit more granulation from the B.T. than with the C.F.
They will very likely mix with other colors differently too - give it a good play and you will probably find both colors useful for different reasons 😄

I thought your little dog was a rare antique from Latvia. I love it even more now that I know you made it. When you answer questions next week, I would like to know what you have studied that you enjoyed the most. What did you study that you did not like? And what has helped you the most in your art journey?

Such a cute palette! Thank you for the cozy video! I needed this today - chilly winter day with some snow! Also - I recently got Buff titanium by Daniel Smith and I have kind of fallen in love with it! I think you might, too. ❤ I love the experimental sketches with watercolour - you’re so good at it, Kriksis! I love your style so much.

thank you Heather! I have been using Buff titanium now a bit more and I really love to use it when I mix skin tones. Happy that I got it. :)

If I may also make a suggestion - at 26:55 when you light candle, your video gets a little bit darker to compensate for the flame - if you set your white balance to manually adjust, it will prevent your camera from doing that.
I tend to set my white balance to "auto" while I adjust my light setup before filming (because my setup is *chaos* right now, bahaha) but once it looks good and the "auto" setting says the white balance is at 5000K like I want - I set it to "manual" so it won't change even if a candle is lit (or - more realistically - when a cat comes and lays on top of what I'm doing) 🤣🤣
If that makes sense. Sorry, I might be overcomplicating it! 😅
