The X Factor is a British television music competition to find new singing talent. Created by Simon Cowell, it began in September 2004 and is contested by aspiring singers drawn from public auditions. It is the originator of the international The X Factor franchise. The eight series of the show to date have been broadcast from August/September through to December. The show is produced by FremantleMedia's Talkback Thames and Cowell's production company SYCOtv. The "X Factor" of the title refers to the undefinable "something" that makes for star quality. The show is broadcast on the ITV network in the United Kingdom and TV3 in Ireland, with spin-off behind-the-scenes show The Xtra Factor screened on ITV2. The X Factor was devised as a replacement for the highly successful Pop Idol, which was put on indefinite hiatus after its second series, largely because Cowell, who was a judge on Pop Idol, wished to launch a show to which he owned the television rights. The perceived similarity between the two shows later became the subject of a legal dispute.
The original judging panel was Cowell, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh. Dannii Minogue joined the panel in series 4, and Cheryl Cole replaced Osbourne in series 5 after her departure. After series 7, Cowell and Cole both left to judge the American version of the show whilst Minogue left the show due to commitments on Australia's Got Talent. Kelly Rowland, Tulisa Contostavlos and Gary Barlow then joined Walsh on the judging panel for series 8, though Rowland announced she would not return for series 9 and was replaced by Nicole Scherzinger. In the initial televised audition phase of the show, contestants sang in an audition room in front of just the judges. From series 6 onwards, auditionees sing on a stage in front of the judges and a live audience. Successful auditionees go through to "bootcamp" and then to "judges' houses", where judges narrow down the acts in their category down to three or four acts to mentor for the live shows, where the public vote for their favourite acts following weekly live performances by the contestants.
There have been eight winners to date: Steve Brookstein, Shayne Ward, Leona Lewis, Leon Jackson, Alexandra Burke, Joe McElderry, Matt Cardle and Little Mix. The winning contestant's single from 2004 till 2010 was released in time for the end of year chart battle for the UK's Christmas number one, a spot which was gained in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2010. In 2011, the winner's single was released a week earlier. All of the winners' singles have gone on to achieve the number one chart position nevertheless, with Brookstein and McElderry going on to claim the New Year's number one spot a week later instead, and Little Mix a week earlier. As of January 2012, a total of 28 number-one singles have been released by artists who have appeared on the show. The all-new X Factor champion receives a recording contract with record label Syco Music with a stated value of £1 million. This includes a cash payment to the winner, but the majority is allocated to marketing and recording costs.
The show is the biggest television talent competition in Europe and has proved hugely popular with the public. Series 6 attracted 200,000 auditionees and peaked at 19.7 million UK viewers (a 63.2% audience share). 10 million votes were cast in the series 6 final as well. On 18 October 2010, ITV announced that Cowell had signed a three-year contract renewing The X Factor until 2013.

Not only did they bully her, but they edited things like the audience. the audience was cheering while she sang and it was edited to look like they cheered when the judges stopped her singing. honestly feel so bad for zoe the whole video is edited to make her look bad
honestly I can't believe her. she was fully aware of what she was doing. when she stepped on the stage she introduced herself as a "pink tribute artist". I'm not saying they didn't play her but she claimed she was a victim but that's only accurate if she didn't have a brain. she sang a pink song then said she was trying get away from the pink thing. couldn't she hear herself talking?

Yeah I heard that too! What I found out is u can also hear Zoe saying “I’m gonna kill myself” and her dad saying “This is absolutely disgusting” just before X is put over Zoe’s mouth which was pointed out in another TH-cam video.

Nah, all the editing in the world doesn't justify her behavior. Many other contestants experience the same things. True, she was set up by producers, but the jduges gave her a second chance, tried to give her sound advice in a sensitive way. She acted like a two year old up there that is used to having her way. Her "defense" video has more holes in it than Swiss cheese. Again, I'm sure she was manipulated and set up, but her meltdown is hers to own fully.

Once you listen to her side of this, you really can see how they just wanted to embarrass her and how much editing went into making this story as entertaining as possible for the viewer.

I feel so sorry for her. When the penny finally drops, I can see the disappointment and shock in her face, she was justified to react like that, anyone would react like that after being stitched up like that.
It was disgusting how she was manipulated by the producers almost to the point of an awful panic attack, also the fact that she spent all of 10 hours in a room with no water, singing without proper hydration will dry your voice out.
Before I forget anything, they also turned her stage monitors off and changed the key of her second song from G to F#, that would mess with the muscle memory.

Definitely watching this now with the different perspective, I have to say the editing of this is Amazingly terrifying. Also the judges agreeing with doing this is also quite concerning, "you told me to sing a Pink song" this make her look like she's insane, but damn... The truth will always come to light, no matter how much it's hidden in any shape or form, and this is the perfect example. Justice for Zoe!
They told her to come back, they told her clearly, in plain English to go away, and come back, like plenty of people did on that show. It was all she had to do. She had no reason to flip out at all, no reason to be upset. She wasn't asked to be on the show, she wasn't guaranteed to be put through, they had no obligation to her at all. She was so entitled, and so deluded in to thinking that she was about to make it in the music industry that she couldn't handle a minor setback. She wasn't mentally mature enough to graciously take the advice, and reapply the following year. She ruined her own chance, and now she makes insane conspiracy videos about how they used CGI to make her look like an evil clown. She is absolutely nuts and no professional would ever want to be responsible for her when she's that unhinged and unpredictable.

Not that I gave them much thought before, but I basically lost respect for every "judge" character on that panel and stopped watching all of these talent "reality" shows after hearing what really happened to this young woman. Good for her for coming out later and telling the truth about all of this.

I feel so bad for Zoe. Waiting there since 6am. Being told to come to sing Pink after she insisted she didn’t then when the second song comes in they screw up the music in her ear piece on purpose. The music industry is screwed. I would rather have no “entertainment” if that means bullying and embarrassing people nationally to the point they were suicidal. She is a beautiful person inside out, and they took such a nice person and teared her apart. Those judges knew too. The one that kept saying “Did you hear us say that come out of our mouth.” They know how reality TV works. Imagine if the switch was flipped on them. Sickening. They did the same thing to that one judge, and her husband just to get the views back. Set up a publicity stunt. These contestants get HATE MAIL. DEATH THREATS. And PTSD. I’m sick of this crap.

They obviously set her up but she done herself no favours by reacting the way she did. They even let her sing a second song, and I agree with the judges she was very average.

Her excited energy was amazing at the beginning. It's really sad that the judges & media treated badly. I never trusted TV shows anymore since I watched ANTM that the show bullied aspiring girls in disguise of 'challenges' they would face if they worked as models. TV shows clearly bring other people down to increase the ratings.
I knew ever since 2013 this was a setup. I knew it. I even said to the Facebook page of X-factor that they deserved to be cancelled for what happen to Zoe. I am so glad the world now sees the truth. Because that truth is heartbreaking.

Because she practiced in one key then got on stage where you can’t really hear the music…then they played it in a different key. Whether or not the judges knew that is a different story. But the producers on these shows just want to make headlines. They set some people up to fail and others to succeed. The auditions are for show. They already know who’s making it.

When you're young, you have standards against Zoe's behaviour and temper. When you're older, you sympathize with her and realise everything she did was understandable.
Zoe is not a cruel person, and it's shocking that some people seem to think that way. She just wanted to be herself. This is why you always need to be yourself, no matter where you are.

The puzzled look on her face about it all tells the whole story. You can see she wanted to speak up, and was trying to find the words. She was set up to fail. They didn't like that she spoke up. Four against one at the end of the day. You can't tell me the judges aren't in on it, but they can plead the fifth and act like they didn't know what they were up against because technically, Talisa is right -- the words "do a P!nk song" did not come out of *their* mouths, but it did from the producers. They knew what she was talking about, and scrambled, and dogpiled her for it. It looks obvious to me.
And after watching her other video explaining the editing tricks, I can hear how they added the applause audio while the judges were speaking. It's so obvious. I'll be looking for this any time I'm stuck watching these shows from now on.

The look on her face when they were criticizing her was heartbreaking. If you listen carefully to what she starts to say when she comes out with her father (right before they beep it out) you can clearly make out the words "All day...." That corresponds to what she says she said...she was trying to explain that all day they/the show's producers were trying to force her to sing Pink, emulate Pink and BE PINK. She really was set up. I feel badly for her. Yeah, she probably cursed too. I would have as well!

SunnyV2 was far from the first to make a video about the incident. And he's not one to talk when it comes to throwing people under the bus for drama.
Mang, you guys have to realize that X-factor heavily edited their videos. They will only keep the drama, actions, love, and happiness moments of the auditions. No way will they ever show us the RAW footages of the whole ordeal. They likely still have it stored away but will never show it to the world. Their cameras are always recording so if they were not in the wrong, they would show the world the raw recordings especially the interview part. Not just a few seconds showing Zoe crying. And to think that a lot of you all still think Zoe is wrong, then tell X-factor to explain their side of the stories. 10 years later and they haven't explain nothing or shown us the videos. Zoe's truth videos are still up and you can still watch them today.
So sad when you know what was behind. This part „we wan’t orginal artist” it’s such a lie.

Then acting shocked when she finally breaks down after being totally set up and abused all day. They tried to destroy her existing singing career. She was nothing more than cannon fodder to get dramatic tv.

5:38 when she says you told me to sing a Pink song, look at Louis, he immediately gives an oh shit look, she’s about to expose us, that’s why they hurry her along. You then also hear her say that she’d been there all day and knew she was set up.
This is why the auditions work best in a room rather than on stage with music.
Thing is, the only thing she really needs to work on is her breath control. She always sounds like she's panting out the words and the (otherwise very good) stage presence doesn't help with all that walking around. If she'd stayed on the X and relaxed in place, her performance would've probably been a lot better. X Factor crew did her dirty on so many more levels than just 'do a Pink song.'

Zoe, even used the make of jeans as a example of not dressing like pink saying Pink wouldnt shop in H&M, which was utterly bizarre, She even said they rigged the music, She said they changed it to a deeper version of the song to throw her off, Well, Zoe has performed in very small rooms, Not huge theatres, Anyone whos been to a concert knows the sound is completely different than it is in you're car, Its deeper and has more bass, Its completely normal, Zoe also admitted it was the most nervous she'd ever been in her life walking on the stage, Anyone who has been in a high stress situation like that knows that everything is blurry, Nothing seems real, I'm sorry for the people that believe stories like zoe told, People are very gulible, I believe they wanted her to sing pink, But the rest of it was copium, 8 years of brain self manipulation to cope with getting rejected, Its a natural human setting. Take the time to really watch and analyze her video she released explaining it and then revert back to the audition, Editing can only do so much, What it cant do is put words in you're mouth, Editing cant make you lash out. Zoe fabricated the stories in her mind as a way to cope, And now this is what she believes, Nothing more.
I mean they can edit the singing, the track song, the crowd cheering, throwing the mic and even hiding the fact that they told her to sing a Pink song, but what they can't edit is the mental breakdown she was having when hearing the word NO, the attitude she and her dad had, so one thing is that they set her up but another thing is how she reacted, they set her up hoping for a reaction and she gave them EXACTLY what they wanted and thats on her... 🤷

They chose that pink song for her just b4 she went on stage. She said numerous times she wants to be herself not pink. I think when she had the chance to sing a second song her nerves and emotions was already shaken. You could see it in her face when she realised they had sabotaged her audition to make her look bad.
Then she was all over the papers for her breakdown after. The screwed her then gas lighted her infant of the nation. Very sad..... and it was set up for more views at her expense.

6:03 You can just see her thinking about it, adding it all up, and realizing that she was set up.

6:20 "You sang a second song babe you did" This was from way earlier in the audition. Which makes sense, because her dad was going to go on stage in a few seconds This was cut in.

I listen to opera usually. She has a strong, clear voice. It’s obvious music was manipulated. In the first song it’s the same. When she changes from cabaret intro to true singing the music is so loud you bearly can hear.
