    Excellent video. I usually replace screws that were removed and dip the new ones in the ProFlex to try and seal against water intrusion on the screw threads. Almost every screw I've removed shows signs of corrosion.

    Exactly the video I was looking for. My question is. My slide's out 3 feet and is 12 wide and works with cables. Will I have to do any adjustments to the cables or chains or are they thin enough that won't make a difference? And that outside trim, Is that just trim or is that a guide also to keep the slide right ?

    • @RVLivingYet

    Great Video! Thanks a lot, another tip you might give people is that if you do a quick line across the trim & sidewall at each screw location before you remove it, you can easily line it up when you go to put the trim back on. less guesswork.

      Since our new plastic ski split (reason I put on a new one, old one split), I ended up using 1 1/2 inch angle aluminum, 1/8 inch thick, made a template of the angled floor inside, cut the aluminum… used aluminum brazing (solder) to finish the angle for the floor. No more breaking 😊

    Hi we just found your channel great idea about the slides. We have the same Silverback yours, ours has a Manufacture date is May 2013, but it is titled as a 2014 model year(not sure how that works). We bought ours in February 2020 used from a dealer.
    I did find a small soft spot under our bedroom slide and think the water is getting to this area as you showed during the rain. I wonder though our bedroom slide doesn't have the black barrier on the bottom and wondering if yours does. I will follow what you did to stop the water intrusion which is a great idea. Glad to find fellow Cedar Creek Silverback'ers...

      Thanks for stopping by and checking out our channel! Thats too funny, our Silverback is a 2013 and we too purchased it earlier this year as well. As for the bedroom slide we have not had any water issues and it is different than the other slides since it has a plywood bottom. We ended up sealing the edges really well with Proflex and I painted the plywood with an oil based exterior paint to seal it. Hope than helps!

    So I do not have the leaking problem at this point, however we noticed the slide out has cut the linoleum. Will this product help to prevent that in the future?

    • @RVLivingYet

      We noticed our carpet wearing and this really helped, if your slide is rubbing at the edges this will work for you.

    So could this cause moisture to move up into the wall or would it have to be coming from up top or a window for it to be in the wall as well? The bottom portion of our wall is soft and a good 7ish inches of the floor is rotted along the side wall of the slide.

    • @RVLivingYet
      @RVLivingYet  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its possible the moisture has wicked up the wall, but I would also keep all the seals and roof.

    • @JosieAriah
      @JosieAriah 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RVLivingYet I checked the roof and typically I can spot cracks in the seals and edges but I can't see any points where it would be leaking unless its leaking from the window. Noticed only the top of the window was caulked, not the sides. The wall starts giving from the window down, but it's worse at the bottom where the wall meets the floor.

  • @marcusaponte1287

    It would be a nice deal if the manufacturers did this prior to the final inspection to avoid this kind of eventual damage. I'd look for the company that did this as a preventive measure rather than a after thought.

    Instead of the “very expensive plastic” I’m thinking aluminum fascia would work, it’s pretty cheap and comes with the 90° bend. Liked and subbed!

    • @RVLivingYet

      Hey! I wanted to give another opinion. My wife and I just purchased a 30' Bunkhouse Keystone Sprinter.. I had no clue about skis so I had to figure it out by myself. What I did was wash the surface really well then dry it well, then use white duct tape.. Try to use 1 or 2 whole pieces and make it look professional. It doesn't come off for a long time only if you clean the surface. hope this helps!

    Great video. This was very helpful. I think you have the best video on TH-cam about this. Question regarding the ProFlex RV. I have used it as well, but using my finger to smooth it out, or Tooling it, just never seems to work since it is so sticky. Do you have any helpful hints in using the product? Thanks.

I’ll have to get these skis really soon. I’m glad I ripped out all my carpet when I did so that I by chance found the leak problem.
