My husband asked me what I wanted to do for my B'day last year and I wanted to go to my favorite used book stores and B&N, so we had a book weekend, it was a blast so you are not alone. Thank you for a great video, I added a couple of titles to my long TBR wish list. I read a couple you had in there and you are in for some awesome adventures.
I’m thinking Where the Crawdads Sing. I did not think of it as a mystery/thriller at all. It wasn’t my favorite book ever but it kept me coming back. To many it was slow but I thought it was paced very well.
Everyone in my family is so sick of getting me books or book gift cards for Christmas and my birthday. Now they ask " besides books, what would you like"? I'm glad your family gives you what you love 😍 📚
So many great books Amy Marie!! I have a couple of thoughts! 1. Laura Childs is my absolutely favorite modern cozy mystery writer! I would suggest reading her different series in order. They can be read out of order but you'll get so much more out of them if you read them in order. Her character development is fabulous and she often bring minor characters from earlier books into the main spotlight in later books. See if you can find the scrapbooking mystery book 1 and start there. It's set in New Orleans. In a ater book in that series Laura Childs actually has her characters experience and deal with hurricane Katrina and it's aftermath. 2. Where The Crawdads Sing has a mystery element to it, but it's not prevalent for a big part of the book. I started and dnf'd the book x2 and then picked up the audio book and enjoyed it. There is a lot of dialect from the Marsh and it's easier to understand hearing it rather than reading it if that makes sense! Good book. Not great. The better mystery is about the author and her husband and son who have been accused of murder in real life but they refuse to leave the jungle where they are now living! The author grew up in the town just south of me where I go to church! She's originally from GA but moved as a young child I believe. 3. Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone is fabulous!! The writer breaks the 4th wall and does it so well. The audio book is amazing! 4. The Twyford Code...on my TBR this year. I loved her book The Appeal! Multi-media... written through a series of text messages, emails, police reports, etc. I think The Twyford Code is the same style. The Appeal is a great audio book too...just takes some time to get use to the email/text/etc format on the audio. 5. Agatha Christie all the way! It actually has been revealed now where she was during the disappearance. That particular book by Marie Benedict was not my favorite but she writes mostly fictional accounts of real people and incidents with as much fact as possible. She's a good author! I just read in Feb her book The Personal Librarian...fascinating story! You got so many books...I forget all I was going to say! I can't wait to see your reviews! I LOVE your channel! Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much Susan! You're so kind 💙 Thank you for all the recommendations. I need to check The Appeal out! I'll look for the first in the Scrapbooking mystery too.
Ohhh...where to start... go for some of the cute cozies. The Mac and Cheese one takes place right outside of DC. Everyone on My Family Has Killed Someone takes place at a ski resort in Australia in the middle of winter. Villa in Sicily sounds great!Or start with the one you won! That's fun!! The Uninvited Guest sounds great! I'm adding that to my TBR! Have fun!
My daughter-in-law and her mother take me out to dinner and we go book shopping for my birthday and Christmas gifts. Like you, I love book shopping. Also, a lot of the books that you share I own most of them. There are a lot of great books to read.
I knew it was fate that I found your channel ….. I have loved Scooby Doo since 1969 when I was 4years old ❤❤❤ I have been enjoying watching your videos … I’m going to pick up No one saw and the marriage lie … Highly recommend pretty girls by Karin slaughter
Adding a bunch of them to my list (only to find I already have them there, oops). I think you should start with "Everyone In My Family Has Killed Someone", it's on my TBR list too
I've read Where the Crawdads sing, gave it 5 stars, and I remember nothing about it. 😂 I would love to hear your thoughts on the Megan Miranda thriller!
Happy belated birthday! I really enjoyed All The Missing Girls and I’m glad to see you got a few Agatha Christie’s. I’m trying to read the complete Poirot series this year. And spending the day with books is a perfect way to celebrate a birthday 😊
Awesome book haul. 😊 I love Karen Slaughter but she is not for the faint of heart. I absolutely loved Pretty Girls maybe start with something else first. I read and saw the Crawdad book /movie. I enjoyed the book but not as much as everyone else. I thought the movie was better but I'm sure most people would disagree. Oh and hey I'm from the Sicilian heritage. MY dad is full my mom is not so I guess I'm half Italian. ❤ I'm thankful to be part ...we age beautifully..lol 😊
Thank you 💙 I'm Italian on only one side too! Irish and German on the other. I'm thankful to be part too! 😊 Thanks for the heads up about Karen Slaughter.
You got a lot of cozy mysteries I've never heard of but they sound interesting. I have the Cats and Curio series (How To Wash A Cat is book 1 in the series). It has an interesting synopsis but I haven't picked it up yet. Not sure why. I can't wait to hear what you think of all of the cozies!
A very happy, belated birthday to you! 📚 What a great haul! 👏🏻 I *adore* Agatha Christie and I have had The Mystery of Mrs. Christie on my shelf since it was first released, but I have yet to read it. Crazy right?! 🙄 I love Cards On the Table, Appointment With Death and Midsummer Mysteries (like you, I'm not a huge short story reader...well except for Christie and Sherlock Holmes 😬 ) and I hope you enjoy them! Where the Crawdads Sing is good, I hope you enjoy that, too! Thanks for sharing! ❤
I ended up DNFing "Everyone In My Family Has Killed Someone". Just couldn't get into it. "The Twyford Code" is on my list. I read "The Appeal" from her and absolutely loved it.
I actually just DNFed it too! I filmed this a little while ago and tried to read that book last week, but I couldn't get into it unfortunately. That's great to know! I haven't heard of "The Appeal."
Till Daph Do Us Part and the Mac N Cheese one would be cover buys for me. I love the color purple and Mac and cheese. I like how you spent your birthday. I would do the same. Love shopping for books especially library sales. Amazing haul!!!
What should I read first? 📚
Faraday House!
The marriage lie
A Fatal Groove
Ok, changed my mind to Faraday house. It sounds really good. Creepy husband, two wives trying to solve the creepy mystery? Yes
Thrifted/library book sales will forever be my kryptonite! ❤📚
Agreed! 💙

Everyone in My Family is a fun mystery that pokes fun at the mystery genre. I really enjoyed it!
It's a very interesting style! I like it 😊
I’m thinking Where the Crawdads Sing. I did not think of it as a mystery/thriller at all. It wasn’t my favorite book ever but it kept me coming back. To many it was slow but I thought it was paced very well.
I'm curious to start it! Thanks for watching Glenda 😊
Love library book sales

You are going to love that Scrapbooking series. But start it with Book 1
I will! I think my library has it 😊
Going to my used bookstore is like going to Disneyland! 💒
Agreed! It's amazing 💙

That's amazing! I've been watching Scooby Doo since I was a kid too 💜💜💜 Thank you for the recommendation!
I am currently mothering a 5-year-old for the 5th time and I can attest that, no, I would never let them out of my sight at that age!!
I didn't think so! I'm curious how the author will explain that away 😅
Adding a bunch of them to my list (only to find I already have them there, oops). I think you should start with "Everyone In My Family Has Killed Someone", it's on my TBR list too
"Everyone In My Family Has Killed Someone" has such an interesting premise! I hope we both enjoy it 😊

Thank you Glenda! 😊 I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it.

I completely agree! Both covers really caught my eye. Purple is one of my favorite colors too! 💜
It will be hard to choose from so many interesting possibilities. I think I would start with "All The Missing Girls". HAPPY READING🌷📚🌷
I love the premise for that one! Thank you. Happy reading 📚
I do the same for my bday....book shopping and reading! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on Faraday House
I'm so glad it's not just me! 💙 All I wanted was book shopping, reading, time with family, and good food :D
Thanks for this! So interesting! I’ve been to Leavenworth WA. So I need to read Beyond Reasonable Stout! ❤
It sounds like the most beautiful town! I definitely recommend the series. It really picks up after book two, but book one was solid too 💙
I'm so jealous you got an ARC of Faraday House. I can't wait for this one!
Me neither! I loved A Dreadful Splendor 💜
I enjoyed If You Knew Her. However, if you are a fan of happy endings this might not be the book for you.
Thank you for the heads up! 😊
