I have euthryoid with thyroid eye disease. Why is this the most dangerous? there is so little literature available to public. You are the first doctor I've come across who mentioned this is dangerous. I'd love to learn more please :)
I believe he means it’s dangerous because if you are euthyroid it may go undetected. Most of the time doctors check thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) w/ reflex T4 which means if the TSH is abnormal the lab will also check the thyroid hormone level in the body. When pts have normal thyroid hormone tests but still experience symptoms of thyroid imbalance then it might be due to the immunologic response he is explaining which is NOT checked in routine labs.
So...I need a new thyroid? The antigens are directly from/because of the thyroid? I recently was told my thyroid hormones are normal, but my antigens - thyroglobulin AND my thyroid peroxidase Ab are sky high!! If I don't have graves or hashimoto's in my regular thyroid hormone levels, I don't understand what the heck is actually wrong with me? It's pretty obvious I have (TED), but it only ever presents in my left eye. Is this some sort of abnormal form of TED??
i have hashimoto's and subclinical hypothyroidism. My myopia worsened over 2 3 month. Can hashimoto's be the cause? I also have pain on the superior part of the actual eye

I’ve had thyroid eye disease before, it was terrible. It felt like someone was taking a scalpel and cutting my eye in half.
