The person she once knew and loved is her younger self. It makes sense...you hear throughout the game from other characters that she blames herself for her family's death and the destruction of Wonderland. The person she used to be was lost. Which lead to her madness. All due to Bumby's "treatment".
She might be addressing the Queen as Lizzie, but she also may be speaking to myself. "My Lizzie..." it could mean that she's figuring out what's happening, and then asking the Queen the trains destination...but who know's?
Did you know there's a "Kingdom Hearts" fanfic focused on Roxas, in which one of the worlds he visits is this one ? It's called "The Twilight Will". But there's more nostalgic yet dark worlds to explore in it. Give it a try. I was particularly proud of the Queen and the Cat in the fanfic.
but Alice addresses the queen as Lizzie (it was the train scene) she says : "My Lizzie, what is this trains destination?" ....well as far as I thought, The Queen is Lizzie ....well in Alice Madness Returns cause the Queen in American Mcgee is the one who is keeping Alice from being sane and being able to control her emotions. but this is just me ._.
The first time she went to Wonderland was when she was 7. Remember the book? Doubt it... The fire happened when she was 8. Beginning this video game's story. 10 years in the Asylum and left at 18, then the second game began when she is 19.
her voice is the best i've ever heard in villian characters!! sound efects make it sound so much more sinister too!! the actor who voiced her is just so talented!! it depicts perfectly her bossy, childish, cruel, sweet and selfish persona!! XD
I was appalled when the Queen begged Alice to leave. "Please... go away!" She had no right to beg for anything, not after the hell she put her through in the first game.
I dont know. The queen COULD be Lizzie because of what the caterpillar says (about the queen being someone you once loved), Alice calls her Lizzie on the train, and Alice says "I was expecting someone else!" when she first sees the queen. She met the queen in the first one, so why would she be surprised to see herself? BUT the queen does look like a young alice (but they're sisters so they could have looked similar or even the same younger) and the art book says it's alice (so ive heard)
love how she's speaking with the queen's english or maybe just conservative / traditional rp accent (i think?) and not alice's heavy southern / londoner accent 😲
@NinaRadix It's supposed to be, the caterpillar (I believe or someone else) said she was someone she once knew and loved, and plus she did call her lizzie, so yes, it is her.
Well, after the fire, when she was outside, she tohught she saw a centaur or something along those lines, but it was really dr.bumby escaping from his crime
@AshiAMV Lizzie was 18 when she was murdered yes, but Alice is about 23 by the time Madness Returns rolls around, which could explain why she seems younger.
I'm pretty sure you can hear her dialogue from the first game during the encounter part, I know they used the "off with her head" bits from the first game.
Yeah, Lizzie looked older than that too. But some people say it's Lizzie who died at a younger age and it's confusing in a way. Now I finally come to realize that it's the younger Alice. Like on the first Alice game when the Queen took a face of Alice at her present age. Now I remember that Cheshire cat said that the Queen is part of her. So what's left of the Queen is also what's left of Alice's memories on this one.
Honestly, and this is opinion, I think the story would have been more interesting and less confusing if American had the Queen be Alice's sister, but that's my opinion.
It IS Lizzie. Remember in the game when Caterpillar said at the end of Chapter 3 when he told Alice that the Queen has changed and said "She is someone you once knew and loved.", it's her sister, Lizzie. Also, Alice called The Queen, Lizzie on that train. Look in Wikipedia.
I believe Anni Long reprised her role as the Red Queen. Jo Whitefield voiced Nan Sharpe. Also it is interesting like Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland that the Queen of Hearts is mistook as the Red Queen. Her castle and Alice's Royal Suit dress proves likewise.
@MNHStudios Thank for much for The Red Queen Quotes. I love them. PLus sadly I was excepting a Boss Battle for her just for "ol' Time Sakes". Were you thinking the same thin too as well?
@NinaRadix in the art book it is stated she is too look like a younger Alice, but I believe she is Alice's sister due to Alice later referring to her by her sister's name.
@Onefromthedarkness I was listening to it with headphones but the most creepiest thing was that there's a storm over my house at the moment and the lights flicker on and off every now and then... Try listening to it when that happens like three times xD Was scary
Of course she is Lizzie. The Queen is the impersonation of Alice's guilt - and in this case, doubtlessly the part of it directed towards her sister's suffering.
Actually....these are Queen of Hearts quotes...the Red Queen and the Queen of Hearts are two separate characters. One of them is the Chess queen and the other one is a Playing Cards Queen.
she is Lizzie, but the mixture between real life and fantasy make her forgot. CAtterpillar once said that the Queen of Heart is someone alice knew and loved. and the maker of amr said that they want to make The Queen Of Heart is like a little Alice.
@IceTehHedgehog The Queen is NOT Lizzie, it's actually young Alice and what Alice says on the Infernal Train is just a reaction of what Bumby did. I think this is confusing to many people but Mcgee has confirmed that the Queen is young Alice.
I'm probably going to have a bunch of people calling me an idiot for asking this, but when the Queen says "And there are no centaurs in Oxford..." when Alice confronts her on the train, what does whether or not there are centaurs in Oxford have to do with anything? Was there anything implying that Alice thought there were centaurs in Oxford before? All I know is that a centaur appeared in the opening cutscene, but that's it.
I'm rather getting tired of informing people that the Queen is NOT Lizzie but rather she is the state of mind of Alice which is currently her childhood hence she looks like Young Alice. Get the facts straight (read the artbook and Mcgee's words on his forum). Then again most people don't look for (& verify) facts and rather rely on speculations. How sad which shows that most people don't like read anymore.
No, American McGee has confirmed that no matter what happened in game, she is Alice's younger self and not Elizabeth.
Alice Liddell ???? That’s weird than why does Alice say “Lizzie”?
The red queen was Alice’s dark side in the first game
@@LiteralColbyExxxtras because its a nickname she called her sister
I thought that the red queen was alice sister in wonderland.
hi alice
The person she once knew and loved is her younger self.
It makes sense...you hear throughout the game from other characters that she blames herself for her family's death and the destruction of Wonderland. The person she used to be was lost. Which lead to her madness. All due to Bumby's "treatment".
“You shouldn’t ask questions you know the answer to it’s not polite” pure Alice in Wonderland right there lol
Authority must be obeyed, or it must be overthrown!
Is it weird that I find her voice extremely attractive?
Code951 yes, yes it is
How can you not? The acting is so superb!
Nope
Nope
The first 20 seconds with headphones is amazingly disturbing. It's like she's screaming and running around inside your skull.
No ones talking about how it could technically be BOTH Lizzie and Alice considering how similar they both look!
Am I the only one who loves her voice?
No. No you're not.
She might be addressing the Queen as Lizzie, but she also may be speaking to myself. "My Lizzie..." it could mean that she's figuring out what's happening, and then asking the Queen the trains destination...but who know's?
I love her vocabulary and accent. So regal yet villanous.
"Make your survival mean something or we are all DOOMED!"
You should totally play this along with the "Queensland" soundtrack in the background.
Well, the Queen herself seems madness incarnate.
That is actually exactly what she reprecents.
Did you know there's a "Kingdom Hearts" fanfic focused on Roxas, in which one of the worlds he visits is this one ? It's called "The Twilight Will". But there's more nostalgic yet dark worlds to explore in it. Give it a try.

"Find the queen, ignore her pledge to decapitate intruders at your own payroll"
"And that noise wasn't Lizzie talking in her sleep"
...
There's no method, in this madness
I can feel her go through one headphone, through my head, and out the other headphone...
Same here.
Same here.
Alice actuallycalls her "my dear lizzie" on the train
I love these quotes seriously xD the queen is my fav character in the game
She should really have had more text, she's epic!
2:40 My most favourite one "... You shouldn't ask questions you know the answer to, it's not polite."
if i meet her in real life i would just respect her since i find very unsettling
Also I know all these by heart :D
By "Heart" XD
H. Martin-Sandoval I see what you did there ;D
It's only a flesh wound! 0:52
Get it? Flesh wound? Because the queen is all fleshy?
"Authority must be obeyed, or it must be overthrown" that's based as fuck
her voice is the best i've ever heard in villian characters!! sound efects make it sound so much more sinister too!! the actor who voiced her is just so talented!! it depicts perfectly her bossy, childish, cruel, sweet and selfish persona!! XD
But the Caterpillar told Alice at the end of Chapter 3 about the Queen, "She is someone you once knew and loved.".
Love her, love everything about her!
Wow... this gave me the chills O.O
2:46 :'(
What's Wrong ?
"And that noise wasn't lizzy, talking in her sleep" We all know now what it was -.-
I love how the "Off With her Head" was done. :D
I was appalled when the Queen begged Alice to leave. "Please... go away!"
She had no right to beg for anything, not after the hell she put her through in the first game.
She had a right to beg for the person who she made a victim and killed her to go away so the same thong wont happen.
1:51 > 2:57 - I'm not doomed but I'm not not doomed - So are you doomed?
I dont know. The queen COULD be Lizzie because of what the caterpillar says (about the queen being someone you once loved), Alice calls her Lizzie on the train, and Alice says "I was expecting someone else!" when she first sees the queen. BUT the queen does look like a young alice (but they're sisters so they could have looked similar or even the same younger) and the art book says it's alice (so ive heard)
This game is soooo deep.....I like it
love how she's speaking with the queen's english or maybe just conservative / traditional rp accent (i think?) and not alice's heavy southern / londoner accent 😲
The red Queen: off with her head
Dr Eggman: ok
People who say the Queen is Lizzie haven't played the first game.
in the artbook, it's said that it's alice younger self, because the key is her memories.
@NinaRadix It's supposed to be, the caterpillar (I believe or someone else) said she was someone she once knew and loved, and plus she did call her lizzie, so yes, it is her.
Yes. If you get this game, it comes with a download for the first one.
I have no idea why but I love both how she looked in AM's Alice and madness returns.
0:28
JOOOTAROOOOO
Well, after the fire, when she was outside, she tohught she saw a centaur or something along those lines, but it was really dr.bumby escaping from his crime
@VirtualRaindrop I think she said "I still reign", it makes more sense :)
Thank you very much for this video!)))
@DarkJokerOfAmuro She's 18 in American Mcgee's Alice, and 19 in Alice: Madness Returns.
0:59
When i went inside that thing i almost puked
its 7am and 8 years later what am i doing
@AshiAMV Lizzie was 18 when she was murdered yes, but Alice is about 23 by the time Madness Returns rolls around, which could explain why she seems younger.
I was brave enough to see this video with my headphones...
now I don't know my own mind!
I'm pretty sure you can hear her dialogue from the first game during the encounter part, I know they used the "off with her head" bits from the first game.
First game?
_American McGee's Alice_ was the first game. _Alice: Madness Returns_ was the second game.
Oh. Thanks for the clarification.
No prob.
+Vinrat Chotwattanasomboon you should'nt ask questions you know the answer to, its not polite
Yeah, Lizzie looked older than that too. But some people say it's Lizzie who died at a younger age and it's confusing in a way. Now I finally come to realize that it's the younger Alice. Yeah but the creator say she isn’t Lizzie, her appearance is a young Alice
Just because it doesn't make sense doesn't mean it isn't canon.
See the comment that replied to you by AerithStrife87 to see what I mean.
Actually American Mcgee himself has stated in his forum that the Queen is meant to resemble Alice when she younger.
0:06
That's the original recording from the original game. Before the final boss fight.
oh my goodness, it is! i can’t get the image of her face falling off out of my head.
listen to the first 20 seconds with headphones... its really creepy.
@AshiAMV No, she's Lizzie. Alice herself refers to her as 'My Lizzie' when she meets her on the Infernal Train.
@Onefromthedarkness
her voice looks like a blade passing thrhough my head from side to side, brilliant xD *heads falling over the floor*
@MNHStudios Thank for much for The Red Queen Quotes. I love them. PLus sadly I was excepting a Boss Battle for her just for "ol' Time Sakes". Were you thinking the same thin too as well?
heres a thing put surround sound speakers in a forest and listen to 15 seconds of this
I feel like they still should have put the White Queen in here...
This is so me on my period XD!!
Well that's an image.....oh sh*t I just realized how scary that is 😨
Code951 baha xD Well periods make girls scary so that's understandable. xD!
Same
@NinaRadix in the art book it is stated she is too look like a younger Alice, but I believe she is Alice's sister due to Alice later referring to her by her sister's name.
@IceTehHedgehog
Actually Mcgee said that the Queen has no connection to Lizzie it's actually young Alice and it's also confirmed by the Artbook.
The third off with her head is from the first Alice game
@Onefromthedarkness I was listening to it with headphones but the most creepiest thing was that there's a storm over my house at the moment and the lights flicker on and off every now and then... Try listening to it when that happens like three times xD Was scary
@MetalArmyXxx nope, The Queen is the young Alice. i thought shes Lizzie too, but check the alice wiki. it says the young, child Alice is the Queen.
Is it just me or does everyone in both the real world and Wonderland treat Alice the SAME WAY the Queen treats her?
Walking towards Jotaro be like 0:27
This is not the red queen, this is the queen of hearts
0:00-1:14 I was like 'OMG this so scary DX.' starting 2:15 O.O sudden voice change
To all - follow AskTheRedQueen on TUMBLR and you can ask her questions. Thumbs up so all can see!
Of course she is Lizzie. The Queen is the impersonation of Alice's guilt - and in this case, doubtlessly the part of it directed towards her sister's suffering.
@Natsuhi97 It's "I still reign" :D
@demon1023 So why when Alice met the catterpillar, he said that the queen she knew and loved? Was she a snob or something?
Actually....these are Queen of Hearts quotes...the Red Queen and the Queen of Hearts are two separate characters. One of them is the Chess queen and the other one is a Playing Cards Queen.
@thegr8estone Another possible boss could of been against the March Hare and Doormouse's giant mech.
is it just me or is she sitting on a giant thrown of flesh l: now i don't feel like eating
i’m not sure that’s a throne,, that might just be more of her
that was awesome
she is Lizzie, but the mixture between real life and fantasy make her forgot. CAtterpillar once said that the Queen of Heart is someone alice knew and loved. and the maker of amr said that they want to make The Queen Of Heart is like a little Alice.

00:11
Um...the last one is from Chapter 6, you got it wrong in the description
@thegr8estone yes i was thinking the same thing but it made me realized it wasnt the queen who was the villian in this game!! lol...
1: set up guitar amplifier as computer speaker
2: activate any echo effect
3: play this video
4: ????
5: profit.
Pity, I never got to play the 1st game. Do you recommend it?
and when do we see Alice sister to know if she resamble her or not? Just curious
I'm rather getting tired of informing people that the Queen is NOT Lizzie but rather she is the state of mind of Alice which is currently her childhood hence she looks like Young Alice. She looks far more scary in the first one then she does in the second game.
@Xr24manX to anyone that hasn't completed the game and decides to go through youtube video's should not complain that it was spoiled for them.
The Queen looks like Lizzie but resembles Alice's younger self
You’re wrong
You’re right about the younger Alice
oh ok. i haven't played the first one. Can't even purchase it online..
could you possibly upload the duchess's lines too?
