Today (10.06.2022) I ate Kiwi Berries for the first time. They are absolutely delicious. Why is it then that the Kiwis are so widely available to buy, but Kiwi Berries are virtually unheard of? What on earth would be the reason for it?
I have only a female plant in my yard and it flowers for a short period. Would love to have a male to produce some fruit! Great video, thank you!
Great info. Just noticed 2 little balls about to turn into flowers on my female. I had a literally bloody battle with the snow this year. Hoping it paid off as I don't see anything on the male yet. Hoping I'll see something over the next few weeks. This is really good info. I was pretty puzzled in determining which branches produce the flowers. Going to reference this video next time I'm outside. Fingers crossed that the male flowers. I don't care if it's only 2 berries at this point lol. The bloody part of the battle was me drilling into my thumb when a drill bit broke while trying to reinforce my trellis system and cover with tarps. Hopefully it's worth

I got a little confused because I noticed you would call it a kiwi 🥝 vine instead of a kiwi 🥝 Bine when describing the plant.
I learned the difference between the two just now but was confused why you would call it a vine instead of a Bine. Thanks for the video my hardy kiwi 🥝 Produce fruit in 2020 after having it for 3 1/2 years.

What do ppl mean when talking about ‘zones’? Titles like, ‘growing kiwi berries in zone 6.’ && I even see fruit plants for sale on Amazon as ‘whatever plant root zones 3,6’ … Totally new to trying to grow edible fruits, or anything really.. what are these zones ppl speak of? Parts of the country? Parts of the plant? Zones within your garden? I know it’s probably a silly question but I’d love it if anyone could shed some light on this for me! Thx!

These can get really big.. Best to put them in the ground, I have one that went wild and grew to the tops of a surrounding grove of trees 60'x60' squared and 80' high. They can survive down to 15-20° below 0 so cold won't hurt them.

I've heard it takes 3 or 4 yrs from seed
Buy plants. If they reproduce from seed, how will you know if you have male or female until many years later?
How do I know which plant is a female or male?
The seller should have themlabelled
@@garthwunsch You can only really tell by looking at the flowers (or labeling...). Male and female flowers should be distinguishable.
