You have to go hard on reload for the mini gun to make it good. I really enjoy using it and would love to see you give it another go but stacking reload heavily ❤ If you don't manage the ammo, then you turn and burn while at say, 1/4 ammo left, you're going to effectively empty the mag 4x faster than you reload it. It's definitely a weapon that defies the normal keep time to empty the mag and time to reload about even wisdom. Also I enjoy your videos very much 🥰
Why do you want try and balance reload and fire rate. That creates a 50% uptime which cuts your potential dps in half. Why not continue pumping reload to get the uptime higher which then greatly increases dps? There are diminishing returns obviously, but that is with all stats, not just reload.
can you repeat the gatling gun run with fire and status build? i feel like treating the minigun as a status beam weapon makes it the actually better flamethrower
8:26 That firerate is bugged, if you keep watching for a moment, the reload is right but that firerate is actually more like 50 Edit: 24:12 even after all the legendarys etc. the clip still empties in the same 3 seconds (50 firerate)
Love how much piercing you had lol. It feels good for basically any gun imo. I'm a little confused about the fire rate and reload speed ratio you mentioned. So if reload is around 1.4 seconds you want fire rate to be 140 per second? Is it just for the numbers to be the same? I don't get it, sorry.
the idea is to invest in both reload and firerate somewhat evenly so that they don't limit each other, having enough firerate so that emptying the gun takes about as long as reloading it is a good benchmark, that's what he was talking about

@@alptugeray the effectiveness of reload speed depends solely on how fast you can empty the gun, that's why it scales so well with single shot weapons. If it takes you 30 seconds to empty the gun investing in further decreasing your 0'5s reload isn't going to be as effective, and same the other way around. High fire rate lets you reload more often, fast reload speed lets you get back to firing quicker. You want both
@@paxmen2264 you simply saying faster fire rate is better with faster reload time on some of the weapons. and nobody arguing with that. minimizing reload time while you have long life time with your dps ofc isnt the best optimization choice. but in this video idle speaks it like making fire rate and reload time identical is very good but it is irrevalant with you are telling here. so you dont need to make 1.4 sec fire rate and 1.4 reload time. you just need shorter reload time and sometimes it depends on your weapon type.
Just let you know, the +30crit+100crit dmg-30dmg drop pod is actually almost none-tiny upgrade. Almost equal to a normal +20 weapon dmg upgrade. And the electric gun strong is because you got the nitra+dmg mod. You hit like not more than 500 per shot without it.
That would be true on base stats but it's no longer true as long as the damage malus adds additively to the current damage bonus. If damage bonus is big enough, the -30% malus becomes negligible
I just did this run last night and died horribly. I didn't use drop on bosses tho. Also I cannot beat shock fence. I get super close everytime I killed the boss and died on my way to evac.
Fire rate must be bugged on this thing! you had around 200 fire rate/s and 150clip size and it took 4sec to empty the clip. It should empty the clip in less then 1sec !
GG. P.S. I died several times in this weapon mastery, the same with electric drone. If you don't get legendary bonuses and additional drones with E.D. you rip with bosses like me. So, I've just deleted this game.)) All finished meta upgrades and class masteries didn't save me with these weapon master-challengies.
for me when i did those really bad boss dps weapon masteries i just used the drop + exploders to deal 70-80% of the boss's hp, it takes some learning and practice to be able to group the exploders up around the boss but when they all go off at once and hit the boss for 30% of his hp its so worth it. also you can just reset for a good weapon from the weapon crate from the first stage drop if you want, though i think that is kind of cheap and so far I've only done that for the Incindiary Grenade because of how terrible it is (like it genuinely might be impossible without perfect rng 7+ legendaries and only getting the easy bosses.
Adding a weapon that can shoot only in front of you is literally the stupidest idea one could ever have when creating this kind of game. There's no reason why movement and shooting direction should be the same.
Stubby was easy for me too, and I didn't get any legendaries and only Nitra Powder for an offensive artifact. I just focused on Potency and Damage, only picking firerate or reload when they were epics. The Leadstorm was another matter, that was very difficult. I took the Weapon Specialist for the extra damage from the passive and the Fire OC to burn the boss (Dreadnought). It still took 9 attempts, but the lack of a movement speed debuff is almost essential to create space to get time shooting the boss. In the end I did as much damage with the weapon as I did damage over time from the burn. 🫤

People would complain about it no being in the game either way. I just wish it would auto fire all the time since ammo doesn't matter
