Love Michael Shannon! I actually met him in a restaurant, where I was sous chef at in Shreveport Louisiana. With the possibility of getting fired I still approached him at the bar to say thank you for his work and to let him know I'd cook him whatever he liked. He was very nice. I got in trouble but didn't get fired. So worth it! It takes a lot of guts to play and sing original music. So I love this! Keep going Michael!
Michael and his music is very important to me, and the slim possibility that I built that Supro amplifier (as I worked their for 5 years and was technically the first employee) brings me great joy. I am available if you need a guitarist and or amplifier tech. Call me.
Being introduced to him as General Zod robs me of being able to appreciate what he has to offer musically.. All I hear is what sounds like "Zod's lament".
have to say, after shape of water I disliked Shannon for not knowing him and just seeing this "evil" person he depicted and that in the end even had a family he cared for, so I guess Strickland wasn't that evil after all, but still evil enough. But I respected Shannon as hating him because a fictional character is really silly. He's an exceptional actor and if I hated Strickland so much, than only due to Shannon's professionality not because he's also an evil person. anyway... after hearing Shannon sing and listening to a couple of songs, he quickly and easily earned more of my respect than I ever had for him before.
@@MissKlaatu I like his guitar...and he's a more versatile actor than Keanu. A cup or two of tequila would have me clapping to this but I think I would enjoy it more if he simply recited it as it's lyrically very good.

I love him.
Rugged, weird and humble.
I’m here because I wanted to see what Nelson Van Alden was like in real life. I had no idea! He really played that character well!
Oh fuck love this man... but this made me love him more
I don’t care what ANYBODY says Michael Shannon is the nicest, sweetest, and most approachable person, he is BELOVED!❤ YOU GO HONEY!
I love this.... Thanks for the video!!😊
Dope
I'm the only one who think this is quite good?
Good? It' s kinda a "wake up call"!
No
why should it be a strange thought? just because he is an actor?
Yes
I love it, but the keyboard solo in this version is R O U G H
I just love him!!!
Love him!
Shannon, could write for They Might Be Giants. Nice work. Love his acting. :)
Open mic @ The Hollywoo Hills.
Love him ❤️
Kinda reminds me of David Berman! Kinda cool like that!
This sounds like a weird ted talk I fkin love michael shannon though
Wow hes phänomenal...

This has a bit of a Bob Dylan vibe, just a bit stranger. It also reminds of what Jon Lajoie does in Wolfies Just Fine
I will take 2 steam irons!
Turn the mic down a tad Jesus

General Zod!
you can hear the Arlo Guthrie and Bob Dylan influence. but still good
At first I thought this was a joke.
I came here because I just learned that Michael Shannon has a band.
Is this about marrying the wrong woman idk
I un ironically really like this. Normally famous actors make butt music, but this is great!

Love Michael Shannon, but jury's still out on this.
Great actor, but let's hope he doesn't quit his day job anytime soon.
You haven’t heard him on the series George and Tammy! He’s amazing, a ringer for George Jones voice and the unique inflections of his voice.
when acting just isn’t enough
This is what happens when people surround themselves with yes men
You totally hit the nail on the head
I like Michael Shannon a lot. He is a phenomenal actor hands down. Having said that, this song was a little hard to listen to.
But it was very easy to watch.
Or maybe hating you're boss
Global warming
I really like Michael Shannon, I do. But this sounds like that drunk guy at the bar singing karaoke.... not a fan of his music but love his acting!!!
This is truly terrible
Great actor - should stick to that. Keanu Reeves is one of the few contemporary actors who can actually sing very well.
Michael Shannon actually sings very well, just this song is not everybody's cup of tea. I prefer tequila myself.

Barry Baddams let’s ask him
