Had so much fun making this with you, Ed 🍂 thank you to The Brothers Gwynne for having me join in for my favourite time of year. We missed you Will! Sadie
The vibes truly are immaculate in this video! The fire was clearly a paid actor. The Lord of the Rings is an absolute must when the weather starts to turn! I also loved If We Were Villains, it made me want to read loads of Shakespeare 😂 lots of other books here I still need to get to, especially this new mermaid Harry Potter rewrite
Great video! I’m 38, never read HP growing up and only saw the first movie, I’m currently bingeing them and am halfway through Goblet of Fire, loving it and somehow it’s still nostalgic for me! Prydain seems up my alley! Cheers from the USA and we say both Autumn and Fall interchangeably!
Wow, that's amazing! It really does have a timeless quality and appeals to all ages! Incredible how it does that. Prydain is similar in that respect in mu opinion :). Will
The vibes of this video 👌 Yessss ACOSF & Shadow of the Wind! Sooooo autumnal! Cemetery of Forgotten books are supposed to be companion novels but there’s a “recommended reading order” I believe. But Ed, we’re doing LOTR in December? You’ll have to read it before the 21st clearly! I really want to read Pydain at some point, maybe with my sprogs… 🤔 I was completely ambivalent about Secret History too, but I’ve heard amazing things about If We Were Villains. My dad has it so once he’s read it I’ll give it a go. Peanut holiday is quite unique I guess? 😂
I'm also reading The Chronicles of Prydain this year! Only have the fifth one left, have really enjoyed them so far. Fun characters and plots and some great themes are explored.
Yes!! On your suggestion, I’ve got Lloyd Alexander in my to read. And yes to All Creatures!! We loved the new Masterpiece show so much I wrote MY cozy! (Quaint Creatures: Magical & Mundane.) If you prefer audio, there is a version of All Creatures read by Nicholas Ralph, who plays James in the show. It’s SO cozy!!
Really hope you enjoy Prydain! All Creatures is such a heartwarming series of books :). Wow, amazing when a show/book can inspire you so much! I've listened to the audiobooks and they are truly wonderful. Thanks for watching! Will
@@thebrothersgwynne Absolutely! All Creatures was one of our comfort shows through Covid. We got caught up at the end of last year's season and I turned to my wife and said "Fantasy Vet. It's happening" and then wrote the book in a month. It was hurricane of inspiration.
I would recommend The Secret History by Donna Tartt, The Witcher books, The Picture of Dorian Grey, Still Life (Gamache book no.1), The Road, and anything by Edgar Allen Poe. Happy Reading!
My 6th grade teacher read to the class the Prydain series. I loved Gurgi. When they made the adaptation, The Black Cauldron, I was that nerdy kid all excited to see the little creature just as I'd pictured him in my imagination. A book I'd recommend as an Autumn read is A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness. Academia, Witches, and Vampires. 🍁🍂📚🥰📖🍂🍁
Great video guys! I loved We Were Villans and The Secret History. Harry Potter is the best cozy fall read I can think of. Runner up being All Creatures Great and Small. I have read all James Herriots books, they are great. I'm a big fan of the show too. Thanks guys!😊
Love you two together (although we miss Will). Shadow of the Wind and If We Were Villains were both on my radar but now that I know Sadie loved both, I’m gonna have to move them along the tbr. Thanks, Ed, for bringing that Welsh series to my attention, I will seek them out!
I locked myself into the Stormlight Archive, but I might squeeze in the horror manga Uzumaki by Junji Ito just for spooky season. Oh, and I’m listening to Theft of Swords by Michael J. Sullivan on Audible.

YES! The Shadow of the Wind is one of my favorites of all time
Love hearing this, It’s so good! Have you read any of the others?
Wonderful book with such as distinct, eerie feel! I really hope to travel to Barcelona one day. Such an incredible city.
Sadie has said I really need to read it… I need to get my act together!

Some great recommendations to add to my tbr. I love autumnal reading - especially rereading old favourites like Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter.
Love the Chronicles of Prydain. Can’t wait to reread this series

Oo yes I’d definitely add Dorian Gray! Personally I’d say The Road feels more like Winter, but another awesome read!

Happy birthday Sadie, I'm also born in November, but I think I'm older than you, I'll be 51 on the 2.
Thank you so much! Happy birthday to you too. Your birthday is much sooner than mine, I hope you have a fabulous time!

The Shadow of the Wind is a brilliant book - read it years ago, might read agin now you've reminded me of it..
Sadie keeps saying it’s a book she thinks I’ll love, so I need to get it together and pick it up! Glad you loved it :)

You must be burning popular. Bang! Pop! The Terror by Dan Simmons. One amazing Fall or Winter read.
I locked myself into the Stormlight Archive, but I might squeeze in the horror manga Uzumaki by Junji Ito just for spooky season. Oh, and I’m listening to Theft of Swords by Michael J. Sullivan on Audible.
Love James Harriot!
James Herriot is a great pick!
Hi, is there any way I can send my copies of Faithful and the Fallen and the Bloodsworn sagas to get signed?
Eubank 😂
Hahah, I know 🤣
