It is starting to get better, I moved here from Murrieta 4 years ago and SW area is booming, plus Winchester. We couldn’t afford a good retirement in Temecula or Murrieta, now we have a newer home, and are still close to every thing, wine country, cute mall in Menifee. We get tired of all the traffic in Temecula & Murrieta after visiting. Menifee can be busy too! Sure we would love to live in the OC or near the ocean-not affordable for retirement. Close to Sage a place called the Lodge, formerly the Diamond Valley golf course, where you can experience Bengal Tigers, the beautiful Diamond Valley reservoir, Museums, parks. We have the cool Historic Theatre in old town area, comedians, concerts, local entertainment, Smoke free Soboba Casino, Murrieta has a cute but boring “old town” Temecula has an adorable old town but try to find parking.
Murrieta schools were over populated when my kids went there. Now they have 3 high schools and yes a good education there. But the schools here are getting better every year. Plus I never had the beautiful views like we have here of the Mt. San Jacinto Mtns. Ramona theatre is a beautiful colorful experience.
It can be hotter here than the other SW Riverside area. But all in all happy about moving here. You have to be careful wherever you live 😊

@@niecek.6473 You must be insanely delusional and pretty damn screwed up in the head to think Hemet has gotten better in the last several years.
I finally moved away from Hemet this year and it was absolutely terrible when I left. I couldn't stand the constant crime or the high costs anymore. Their cops are all dirty & dangerous too. Those people are totally toxic and often highly addicted to meth.

One cannot go to downtown Hemet without witnessing the huge homeless and drug problem it has. Saying that those problems are everywhere is not being honest about the magnitude of those problems in Hemet. Maybe people there prefer to ignore the problems. Maybe the affordability isn’t bringing in enough tax revenue. Murrieta and Temecula are larger but safer.
