I have 13-inch mid-2012. It's have 4+4 8GB 1600 MHz DDR3 RAM. I want to change its RAM to make it work MORE efficient. Which RAM should I get? Many thanks
If your Macbook Pro won't power up remove the power connector for the Right I/O board to the logic board. It is a quick check and an uncommon, but frustratingly easy, fix that goes overlooked. And replacing the logic board and DC in board won't fix it.
in my case the SMC reset was just forced to function due to some liquid/gunk in the region of the SMC_ONOFF_L and SMC_MANUAL_RST_L pads. I cleaned it out and now it works like a charm

Yes, that is something every technician should be checking. The board should always be tested outside the enclosure to rule this out as well.

Great lesson! Thanks, Tim!
That little brown spot at the SMC was a flea from an animal, so there was a short caused by the tiny bit of fluid a critter has.
