Jack Patera was the original MLB for Coach Landry and the 1960 Dallas Cowboys FLEX DEFENSE. Patera said he loved the FLEX coach Landry taught his systems. Sadly early in the season he broke his leg and it never truly healed. My Cowboys, America's Team, won the Division in a winner takes all game at Texas Stadium last game of the season and no doubt this GREAT defense certainly helped. Jerry Tubbs has to move to MLB from the Strong ILB spot. I hope Patera spoke to Landry that week. Love that pick in the end zone and then the garbage whiff tackle by #57 Mel Kauffman. WOW AND ANOTHER OLD DALL COWBOY JIM ZORN JUST LIKE YIS HERO IN 1971... SAME END ZONE.. CAPTAIN AMERICA rand for 21 yards for the only touchdown of the game back Nov 1971. Haul to the DEADSKINS
Theisman was rugged. This game he got decked, lay there in sever pain, missed one play before getting right back out. Heck, I am surprised that he didn't get up and deck L.T. even with a compound fracture of the fibula and tibia.
