This Starling has been trained to mimic words and phrases about its invasive introduction to the North American continent. It has also picked up some inadvertent mimicry along the way.
fun fact! the butcherbird (also known as loggerhead shrike), a predatory songbird, has a call that is theorized to do exactly this! its not mimicry but its been shown to attract other birds.
I find it extremely fascinating that this type of bird can do this, but I also find it a little bit disturbing. It kind of sounds like a robot and at the same time unnatural with a very eerie disconnected sounding tone
Starlings, like other birds who can perform mimicry, never cease to amaze me! I like what they taught this one to say. If I were to teach a bird to repeat a phrase, one would be, "Explain that to me again." I think it's worth a try. Then, invite people over and see what happens.
Although to be fair (and factual), their invasive presence here on this continent is through no fault of their own. You can thank the planet's most destructive & invasive species for that. I hate humans.
A lot of birds are named after the sounds that they make, for instance, the Chickadee. I like to imagine that the European starling was named because that was the bird call they heard in the wild
I'm sorry I cry everytime I watch this since I had bird named birb that died a month year old. We found him in the wild and took him in, He died at the 4 days we had him
He was a rescued baby who is unfortunately invasive in the area and couldn’t be returned to the wild, but he’s very cared for and isn’t in the cage all the time.
Lol it’s like a Pokémon when all he said at the beginning was what kind of animal he is! 😂
european starling 😂
Wonder what kind of attacks it knows? Or what kind of ability it has?
@WlakyMaster not funny
@WlakyMaster someone has to tell you that you're not funny, otherwise others might suffer from your horrendous sense of humor
@@Harbluia Obviously its ability would be to copy other pokemons.
This is adorable, but if I was at the park and the birds started labeling themselves I'd be kinda scared.
Also you will always know where you are now
they are Pokemon
Could u imagine! Now I totally get why my aunts feared Birds 😩😅
LOL
hahaha ;D
I guess it's a еuropean starling
That's a duck
I can't tell if it is.
I'm always blown away by how mechanical these birds can sound when they mimic voices and especially sounds
Dude it's mimicry is uncannily good, it's like the original voice but it sounds like coming from a cassette tape player
Imagine being in Central Park and a nearby bird says this so clearly this way...you would be shocked and disbelieving.
you should send him to work in the metro to announce the stops
*STAND CLEAR OF THE CLOSING DOORS, PLEASE*
What could possibly go wrong with that one.
But only in Central Park station...
"*Yuuuuur-uh-pee'in* STAR-ling!!!*"
Haha, sounds like my boy!
that is WILD!!!!!! it humbles the sht outta us arrogant so-called "smarter" humans.....i know this humbles the hell outta me.
When the noise started, he got scared and he started talking about Central Park New York City, even he scared of that place🤭
Starling darlings.
YES i love to call them this ❤️
Oh gosh, look at those patterns! How utterly gorgeous🥰 And that announcer voice😂😂😂
If I had a starling I’d train it to recall my address in case he gets loose and someone finds him
I've been trying to do that with my rescued starling!
@spitfireanimations4000 that’s actually a really clever idea!! 😃
Gorgeous little thing
Perhaps there were dinosaurs that could mimic and used it to lure prey
That makes it way more creepy and scary, and less cute and funny >_>
fun fact! the butcherbird (also known as loggerhead shrike), a predatory songbird, has a call that is theorized to do exactly this! its not mimicry but its been shown to attract other birds.
Birds are dinosaurs so yeah
Damn that's scary af! Imagine a T-Rex mimicking humans with a robotic voice!!!😳😳😵💫
The MOST accurate, exquisite little bird of mimicry I have ever seen🏆🇦🇮
Pokemon but it's animals instead of Pokemons
I find it extremely fascinating that this type of bird can do this, but I also find it a little bit disturbing. It kind of sounds like a robot and at the same time unnatural with a very eerie disconnected sounding tone
This bird is 100% a drone and you can't convince me otherwise!
Wonderful. Starlings are so adorable.
When he urinates, do you say "you're a peein' starling"?
It needs to 😂
Beautiful bird
Wow, incredible!!

I love that 😂
This is an amazing bird. I have seen them landing in my back yard for decades, never knowing they were capable of mimicking sounds.
That's a pokémon, he only says his name
I think I heard it say William Shakespeare and then say Shakespeare bird lol.😂
So sweet.
"Trained to mimic words and phrases about its invasive introduction" is so funny to me. Yes bro announce your shame and how you don't belong here
Although to be fair (and factual), their invasive presence here on this continent is through no fault of their own. You can thank the planet's most destructive & invasive species for that. I hate humans.
@@TheSunnydeni me and u both . humans genuinely suck and i think we were a mistake to existence
Beautiful and intelligent. You cannot fault it for living in a horrible place. Yes, that is sarcasm.
The Nietzche bird, questioning its own existence. Dreaming of better days in new york
Fabulous birds .
Imagine is all animals could only say what they are called! Poor Hippopotamuses and aardvarks with those mouths! 😂
A lot of birds are named after the sounds that they make, for instance, the Chickadee. I like to imagine that the European starling was named because that was the bird call they heard in the wild
Central Park , New York City was awesome.
He even has white noise 0:52
UNREAL
but he doesn't say "european starling" in a european accent, that's messed up
Which European accent? We have hundreds if not thousands
@@griffinbastion yeah we do lol

@@gangstarboy702 I’m going to hell for laughing at that

Real life Pokemon
I think this not a bird, but a ROBOT
Birds aren’t real
Real isn’t real
❤❤❤❤
Take into account that that little thing is a dinosaur.
Just take that in for a second... ... ...
no. It's a European Starling
@@CemetarysNeighbor Starlings are birds. And birds are dinosaurs. Yes, that little animal in this video is a dinosaur.
Blödsinn! Und wir stammen auch nicht vom Affen ab...
@@joshuastrittmatter4188 i think they were making a joke about how it kept repeating "european starling" in the video
It's not a starling, it's a whole star. Also I want fifteen😂💖
These birds are declining quite rapidly. I sometimes see them on wires and on my fatball feeders but there isn’t enough as there should be
Apparently they're invasive
@@tallic967 they are only invasive in some parts of North America.
They can come hang out at my house! That is so effing cool!
that's a pokemon
James Bond vibes :D
It sounds like Karen from spongebob
And you thought augurs were barking at the moon
0:59 R2D2
Who's that Pokémon?
Birds are robots
It has a much better English accent than most of the Indians!
Central park where?
/s
We have been invaded.
IS THIS REAL??
don't buy and sell wildlife
Also, don't lock the bird in a cage please
