- Sorry for the shaky footage I was very scared filming this video.
'ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter' was a scary attraction at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World, Orlando. In 2003 it was reskinned as 'Stitch's Great Escape' an attraction for children, but closed was abandoned in 2018 after being panned with bad reviews. This footage was taken a few months after it had closed.
I have heard it has been demolished since this video was filmed.
Being a theme park employee myself (though not Disney), I've gotta tell ya you're pretty lucky they weren't using that space as an employee breakroom or something!
They actually are nowadays. This was filmed shortly after it closed but there’s some more modern photos leaked of it being a break room. The first intro room is still somewhat intact with the wall signs still up and exposed. Went to not so scary Halloween last year and they had the door open.
Imagine if everything started functioning while you're in there exploring.

I can understand why he was so shaky, this place looks creepy as hell, and plus, the fact that the stitch animatronic could be in there definitely does not help

I understand you were scared, but damn man, Stitch was right there. This could've been the best look we've gotten into the animatronic.

Are people allowed to just go in there? Or Probably another reason why he was afraid was because he shouldn’t be there and plus it’s scary?

Yeah, no, I would not be going in there by myself. I seen just how much the camera was shaking and just knew you had to be terrified.

the way that it goes from packed tomorrow land with the music blasting and everyone talking to this dimly lit hallway with a little buzz noise is so cool
The fact that you were so scared, the camera was very shaky and the attraction was abandoned was giving me chills. Even the abandoned stitch animatronic scares me.

Truly a depressing sight. I'm so fortunate I was able to see this ride back in 2016 before it closed.

@@elvingarcia3010no they never did since they barley made profit off the character after the second movie they only had the rights to make a movie on him but with sonic they had the rights to pht him in there because epcot had sega but no there will not be reckit ralph attraction not for the time being
I was unfortunate to have witness alian encounter when I was a child for the short time it was running. Seeing this video just brings me back lol that ride was seriously traumatizing as a kid
I rode Stitch’s great escape when I was like 8 or something it was kinda scary
This is such an incredible piece of footage, thank you. I went to this attraction long ago and I was so fascinated by the complexity and engineering put into Stitch. Your brave exploration was not only nostalgic, but also very satisfying for my curiosity. The only thing I wish is that you could've gotten closer to the stitch animatronic

Funny that there are still the out-of-order caps on at least one of the chairs. The one marked "Temporarily Seized" is a carryover from Alien Encounter. Miss this attraction and Skippy from the preshow. I'm a fan of Disney's animatronics and losing the epic 5 of them(plus the 4 Gun Arms) with the closure of this ride was tragic.

Being there after Alien, my home attraction, closed I was in there at 3 am in the opposite chamber, I mentioned how I didn’t want Stitch in there and the shoulder restraints moved like something was stepping on them down coming towards us. It was a few months after Alien closed. The stuff we seen over the time there and stories told, you are very right to be scared of the Stitch as that chamber was the most haunted.

I would do or pay anything to sit in that room again, it was and always will be my favorite attraction! I know it'll never return, but I'd give or do anything to do it one last time!

I got to experience this ride back in 2007, I was pretty young but still remember the effects of him spitting, the wind from him running around with the speaker effects, and the smell from his burp lol. Glad I still remember it to this day and sad to see it fall into such a state after so many years.
No it was in really good condition until disney skinned all the characters and shut the doors to the place

@@joeyfendrich7622you may be thinking of the second version. When it first came out, the original version was actually terrifying. So much they had to shut the ride and rework it before reopening under the same name to tone it down

Well.. this is the 2nd best footage we got of stitch’s great escape still no footage of the actual Animatronics :( we need footage of them for proof but this is probably the last best footage we’ve got it’s been 4 years since it closed and has been Demolished.
Although we got pictures of Stitch, skippy,skippy.2 and the pre show robot guy. Still sad I had never got a chance to go to the magic kingdom even once or even go on this ride. Rip stitch such a young fella turned into a endo skeleton of nightmares

The animatronic is in this video, it’s just very far away as the explorer was too scared to go near him. I’ve seen those skinless stitch pictures and don’t blame him

I'm glad i got to experience this ride many times before its unexpected closure. This ride was a part of my childhood and i would sometimes go for that to pass the time since it usually had short waits. I miss this so much. It was a mistake imo to close down something that at least had some historical value to it.
It’s kind of freaky because out in tomorrowland it’s so joyful and happy and then when you go in that abandoned building, it’s quiet and creepy. It’s so freaky.

I am AMAZED that DISNEY WORLD does not have locks on these back entrances to the attractions! Great video btw. I LOVED Alien Encounter, didn't care for the changes to Stitch. Eerie how some shoulder harnesses are raised in place one last time, and stuck there.

The sign that says “Temporarily Seized” at 5:08 is a leftover from the Alien Encounter ride. Note the “XS” logo, which was the company featured in that ride.

As much as I wanted you to go and get footage of the skinned stitch animatronic, I get it, I’d be pissing myself too if I was in your situation.

Not the version that closed but the original originallll sounds terrifying and i wasnt born to experience it. I would love Disney to stick their toes back into something like this.
