In this edition of Tarikh, Nikhil talks about Ahmed Shah Abdali's attack on Harmandir Sahib. Ahmed Shah Abdali attacked India several times and won the third battle of Panipat against Marathas. While traversing Punjab, the Afghan army faced resistance from the Sikh Army. The Afghan army massacred the Sikhs, the incident also known as Wadda Ghalughara. Ahmed Shah Abdali also attacked the sikh shrine harmandir sahib and sikh rebuilt it each time.

Sikhs fought around 13 battles with abdali , 9 under the command of jassa singh ahluwalia, 2 under baba deep singh ji, 1 under charat singh, 1 under baba gurbaksh singh. Sikhs won 12 battles. 1 was major holocaust of sikhs when lakhs of non armed sikh men, women and children were attacked and martyred in attack. The handful armed sikh warriors including their head baba jassa singh ahluwalia,by forming a circle tried to defend the non armed. Jassa singh ahluwalia sustained more than 30 marks of cuts and bullets on his body. But as the man of such an excellent strength he was, he didnt care and pushed back his forces. Within a few months, jassa singh ahluwalia took a brutal revenge of this holocost by attacking lahore and killing the generals of abdali . Jassa singh ahluwalia and the sikhs captured lahore.

अब्दाली पर सिखो की जीत 1762 के बड़े घल्लू घारे के समय ही तय हो गई थी जब अब्दाली ने फतेह के बाद समझौते लिए सिखो पास संदेश भिजवाया जिस पर खालसा ने कहा था कि तुझे तेरे अल्लाह की कसम, मैदान ए जंग में अब तकड़ा होकर आना , समझौता अब तुझे पंजाब से बाहर करके ही करेगे और वही हुआ 1767 में ही सिखो ने अहमद शाह दुर्रानी को पंजाब से बाहर फैंक दिया

Introduction of Artillery render Afghan cavalry ineffective against Sikhs
But in the Ghoris times Punjabis were no match for the Afghan

Later in late 1759 Abdali conquered Panjab but in late 1761 Sikhs conquered Lahore . 1762 Abdali conquered again. 1764 was a turning point in history of Panjab. Sikhs killed Afghan Governor of Sirhind (Zain Khan Sirhindi ) in January 1764 at Sirhind . In February 1764 , At battle of Chenab , Sikhs defeated Ahmad Shah Abdali and Afghan Army ran away from battlefield along with Ahmad Shah Abdali. Abdali in 1765 came again but with Bilochi Nawab Nasir Khan Nuri but unable to crushed Sikhs. He returned back , Bhangi Misl (Dhillon Jats) conquered Lahore from Hindu Governor of Lahore. In 1767 Abdali came last time against Sikhs but Sikhs defeated his Army Commander Jahan Khan near Amritsar. This time again Abdali was helpless and returned Afghanistan. Sikhs conquered Panjab

Sikhs never ever surrendered to Abdali or any invaders. They fought again and again until liberated. British Invasion was driven by internal conspiracies supported by Indian kings. Eventually they were also exited.

Abdali ne jab darbar sahib par hamla kiya topo se, ton ek darbar sahib ki ek brick aakar abdali ke naak par itni zor se lagi ke wo apne ghore se neeche gir gya aur bohat gehra zakham uske naak par ho gya jo baad mein nasoor ban gya aur theek na ho saka aur isse infection fel gyi aur uski mout ho gyi. 80 saal ke Brahmgyani saint baba deep singh ji, jo guru gobind singh ji ke pyare sikh the, unko jab is beadbi ke bare mein pata chala ton wo sikh sena ko saath lekar taran taran se chale aur abdali ki sena ke khilaaf zabardast yudh huya baba deep singh ji ardaas kar ke chale the ki jitni der tak wo darbar sahib ki beadbi ka badla nhi lete, utni der tak wo shaheed nhi hoge. Wo apna sees ( head) darbar sahib guru ramdas ji ke dar mein bhent karege. Aisa hi huya. Baba ji ka saamna jahan khan se huya, saanjha waar huya. Dono ke sir dhadh se alag ho gye. Jahan khan ka dhadh zameen par padha tha lekin baba deep singh ji ke ek haath mein khanda aur dusre haath mein sees tha, tali par rakhke yudh ko jaari rakha . Ye nazara dekh kar abdali ki fouj maidaan chodhkar bhaagne lagi aur kehne lagi humko tankhah zinda se ladhne ki milti hai, murdo se nhi. Baba deep singh ji 18 meel chalkar darbar sahib pohanche aur apna sees guru ramdas ji ke dar par bhent kiya aur haath jodhkar apna sareer tyag diya aur anokhe amar shaheed kehlaye. In sabh cheezo ka zikar abdali ke jarnail tehmas khan ne apni autobiography mein kiya hai 🙏. Jisko maanna hai mane aur jisko nhi manna wo na maane.
