I agree. But, lol, I always thought that Baptists were against alcohol altogether. I'm glad to know that this seems to not always be the case. Before I became Catholic I attended some different sects. At a nondenomenational one, a preacher had said that it wasn't sinful to drink alcohol but that you would lose your testimony. That seemed ridiculous for several reasons. One, a testimony is constantly building throughout ones life and is not lost due to an alleged mistake. Two, clearly Jesus and his friends at the wedding of Cana did not lose their testimony when drinking.
Maybe it's becayse they don't take their faith seriously and as something that actually affects the world? 🤔 We Christians believe that our faith and religion has actual consequences in the real world. 😊

70% atheist according to a recent survey - but many cultural buddhist/shintoist. It's more they do the traditions, but don't actually believe in it.
