I can understand her argument about the oversexualization of anime, and even her argument about it being escapism, but their conclusions about it being somehow linked to transgenderism holds absolutely zero weight.
Naw, anime is a medium. From the 80's when I started watching anime there was plenty of anime that was sexualized, and many that weren't. Just like today, find the shows that suit your taste.
Also genuine question, if anime fosters trans and lbgt stuff, why don't we see more of that in Japan than we do here? Anime is ingrained in their every day culture.

I think you're on to something with this, yes. I see it a lot in another fandom I'm part of too (furry fandom). It's a natural downside to a community being too open minded and welcoming. It's a problem with the community around it, not the medium itself.
@@Snow-Willowthis is a legitimate question, not sarcasm: What's the part of the furry fandom that's not the weird part? Cause I only ever hear about the weird part.
@@nocx4592 Hahahaha! Thank you for asking that, honestly the question itself is so genuine and understandable that it made me quite literally laugh out loud. XD Fair enough, I guess a vast majority of it depending on your perspective is pretty weird. Personally I find the part that just enjoys drawings of one's fursona or characters to be not that weird at all. So for example a friend of mine has a character that is a dragon-naga sorceress, and he pays for a lot of art of her doing sorcery things like testing out spells, reading books, ect. That kind of thing I don't find weird. Honestly I don't even find the fursuiting aspect weird. it just bleeds over into cosplay when you really think about it, but I get some people may find that kind of thing weird. For me the really weird stuff is when you get into the nsfw realm, FurAffinity can be really scary place sometimes if you don't filter that out. I'll grant there is a lot of that in the furry fandom, but it doesn't encompass all of it in the same way that h3ntai doesn't make up all anime.
This also comes across as her saying that being trans is a sexual thing, and that is just plain false. Being trans literally just means that you are not the gender you were assigned at birth. There is nothing at all sexual about it. Maybe instead of looking for things to blame for people being trans (or LGBTQ in any way), we should look to understand what they are going through, and show them kindness. I'm a Christian who happens to be trans, and it is frustrating how we get treated like problems to be solved, in stead of the actual human beings we are. Anyway, I love your videos, and God bless!
Yes and no, too much of "trans" identity these days is sexual and can be easily traced to autogynephilia. Dysmorphia suck though so I hope you find some solice in Jesus and reject the lie that you are anything other than what God made you.
Hey, I think this is a real problem for anime but not for the average viewer. Its kind of like peanuts for a peanut allergy situation; peanuta are safe to eat but deadly for select people.
And also not to mention the people in the left back then tried to generalizing everything and meanwhile the people in the right back then never try to generalize everything and yet today it became backwards or perhaps both sides are generalizing everything which is very concerning and also destroying the unity in the right.
It's both sides generalizing stuff as Western society keeps growing apart and adopting an "us vs. them" mentality which contains an idea of "our stuff vs their stuff".
@@nocx4592 agreed, and they think environmental policies coming from the left are considered woke and stupid and considering the fact, despite the facts that former american president Theodore Roosevelt has introduce ecoconservative & environmental friendly policies and laws during his term as president despite being a republican and not to mention being one of the epitome of american traditional masculine man and former British PM margaret thatcher literally introduced climate change as a global threat to UN and and yet she's literally one of the most conservatives in uk history. This sort of mindset hinders Christianity's reach in the culture. Instead of saying "All anime is bad and it's the reason for the West's downfall" We should instead be saying "Why is anime so popular, and what are redeeming qualities about anime that us as Christians should celebrate, and heck, what if we take all the good elements of Anime and give them a Christian moral grounding and make a Christian anime that can hold its own as a legitimately good piece of media that breaks down the stigma around anime?" It reminds me of the Satanic Panic and Christian Rock of the 70s and 80s. Christian Rock was started by Christians who were once hippie rock and rollers who wanted to redeem the genre of rock and roll by making rock music that honored God. Now, many of these bands and artists were incredibly talented (for instance Resurrection Band, Petra, Stryper, Daniel Band, Bride, etc.) and their music is actually good (instead of just being a "Christian" alternative) but because of the stigma around rock and roll that many Christians had, these bands were attacked and banned from many Christian radio stations. If they just got over their personal musical tastes and looked at the content of the music, they would've realized that Christian Rock is a tool for reaching lost souls. We shouldn't put God in a box, and we should realize that to reach the next generation, we should understand what reaches that generation. And this anime it seems is infatuated with anime, and the sooner we realize that, the sooner we can understand how to reach them on their level.
When you used Your Name as an example... The very beginning of that movie drives the point home that men and women are different and unique, despite the main plot device being two characters of the opposite sex swapping bodies. It clearly shows that being a woman is different from being a man, and vice versa. I would argue that there are some objectifying shots of Mitsuha though ("Hol up, why do I have breasts?" -Taki, probably), but so do many of the other examples for their female characters, and usually it's not too bad. Your Name is a movie that I'd like to have a long talk about with my wife... if I had one 😭 Are you planning to review Makoto Shinkai's movies soon by the way?

Litteraly the main reason I got into anime was because I was sick of the "Welcome to season 2!
