      @A V It's too bad the valves aren't adjustable, it's a great little car. I'm going to use 20-50 oil in the summer and see if there is any difference. Either way keep good oil in it.

    Snap-on makes an 11mm flare nut socket, that’s great for brake lines - especially lines in tight places. It’s one of those “save your butt tools” worth owning!
    I just checked Snap-on’s current price. Wow!!! $56.50!! I paid like $22.00, 18 years ago. I hate to say this, but look for a quality knock-off.

    Two compliments: excellent help on the Hyundai clutch hydraulics, and you got damn good taste in music :) oceandisco is awesome, really seasoned band and now have a fan in Maryland. I presume y'all are in Louisiana?
    I'm likely going to be doing the master cylinder today, but regarding clutch SLAVE cylinder.... I got from AutoZone part no. 10655 for 2003 Hyundai Accent 1.6. It appears it was cast backwards; the curve at the base where the bleeder screw hole is was backwards, the bleeder screw is at vertical rather than tilted toward front on original. I had to push coolant hose at engine block back, bleeder screw STILL too long/high to fit. So.....
    I removed spring, piston, valve plate and its spring and installed in original cylinder. Good fits on everything, but seeing the symptoms with the clutch fork motion in this video, and seeing dark fluid welling back into reservoir, master cylinder replacement is indicated. Your video's a huge help......
    I am curious about something I'd done as a quick fix couple months ago..... used mineral oil in lieu of being able to get Dot 4 fluid..... . The pedal was a bit stiffer, like driving on new tires. Slave cylinder had been leaking ONLY in cold weather. Above 45 degrees or so, no leaks, reservoir full. No intention of using the wrong stuff and expecting different results, just curious as to whether mineral oil could have eaten seals up. Baby oil's corrosive ?!?!

      Just from some quick reading it appears that the mineral oil could have caused the seals to swell more than they do with dot, which could make things temporarily better and later much worse, so maybe a cool emergency fix there. Ocean Disco is based around New Orleans, which is where the guitar and bass guys in that video are. My connection to the band is the leader/drummer is a friend from southern Illinois where I am. I used to play bass with him but I am not a road person and I already have a steady one person construction/electrician business. So, as is tradition in the business, he has different musicians now. They spent two weeks at our house this winter practicing in the garage before going out on tour for about 3 months. Now I have to replace both rusty fuel tanks in the RV before they go out again at the end of the month. I could go on forever but I'd better go to work. Thanks for your interest. Ask questions any time.

    Thanks for the video, was wondering how I'd get this damn master cylinder off with it being so close to the booster. I love my 2000 Accent, but damn why did Hyundai put that part there?
    Side note, I've disabled the door dinger on my car.

    Perfect video, my Clutch Pedal just died on me, Revisor is empty and keeps leaking out. Going to replace my Master and Slave Cylinder asap. Hopefully that's my only issue.

    • @streetguru9350
      @streetguru9350 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @danieldickson7812 it's a pretty easy fix. I just replaced both cylinders. Just have to bleed it like brakes.
      Only the cheap master cylinder I got only keeps fluid at the low level.

    Can I ask... my car has no clutch oil compartment? Is that normal????? Is sharing oil with the brake fluid... I have a 2008

    • @TheMechanicalPhilosopher
      @TheMechanicalPhilosopher  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, I'd never seen it before but it looks like that's what yours is doing. There should be a hose from the clutch master cylinder to the brake fluid reservoir.

    • @YalesykaBanks
      @YalesykaBanks 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes there is a line that goes out from the break fluid reservoir to where they clutch reservoir is supposed to be at… I was looking at your video trying to compare… I have same car but a 2008… the mechanic said I need a master torque clutch cylinder…
