@@stevenkambach man if you haven't yet tried firefly you just gotta if that's a word. Anyway to my opinion and many many others there are no better guitars for the 200 US dollar price tag. I have several of them and have tried many different budget friendly guitars and I'm always drawn back to my what was fflp. But are called ffsp now. I have a 5 year old double cut P90 from their first batch and a fairly new smokey burst LP style and both are my favorite instruments to play. PS. I'd love to hear your feedback on them.
@chucklee347 I pay around 360 cad after I get mine shipped up here in Canada and even at that price they are great guitars for me, I have 3 LPs and have a cobra burst elite coming pretty pumped!
Played one last night. Probably the nicest guitar I've played, and my guitarist friend has some seriously nice guitars. Sounds and feels fantastic straight out of the box.
Man, I've been watching videos from various LP guitars for a few months now. Absolutely none of them, even the higher grade ones seem to compare out of the box as well as these Fesleys... I mean, being in the market, and being a retired military guy that takes his time researching for the right equipment, and it's just amazing. Also I love your comparison in it's details. I love getting the clean sounds because cracking the rock can really be misleading, but clean is clean, and if it can't sound good there, it's likely that it will give you problems in other areas... And this guitar just seems so consistently good on all the reviews I've watched. Plus, I like the richer sounds it puts out over the other brands.
I agree with everything you said 👍 it is a solid guitar. Mine was setup nice out of the box. Solid, light, clean. For that price, it's a good deal imo 👌
I have a thing for budget guitars. And Well looks like great value. I’m a big fan of the aesthetic. The matte finish really does it for me. Particularly the neck. I’m not a fan of gloss/painted necks. I may have to pick this up.
@MsHashy420 I don't think I talked about the signal chain here. Just Neural Amp Modeler with a Marshall profiles and Fender profile for the cleans (I think). Just used the stock noise gate wherever it sits at default
I have a Taylor and Schecter, both acoustic/electric. Then I have an electric guitar that was built from scratch by my friend. I think I might get one of these soon. Looks nice, sound is good, and the price is amazing.
Hey man love this video and your “cinematography” if you will. Just curious of if that’s the sound clean in the beginning or added distortion. I’ve been an acoustic player for three years or so and thinking about getting an electric as I start to learn finger picking. I love this guitar but I tend to lean towards more of a clean John mayor type electric. (I do a lot of worship music)
Thank you 🙏 the first tone was the guitar into a Marshall amp sim. That is where the distortion comes from for that Tone. I ran it through a clean amp sim as well around 7:40. John Mayer more often uses strat type guitars so if you are aiming for that Tone, you will probably want something with single coils. Fesley has a couple strat models, but there are others in the price range. Squier, Donner, Firefly, Grote seem to be all decent options 👌 this one is a good option too, just has humbucker Pickups instead of single Coil Pickups. Good luck 👍
They tend to be cheap and old. Most players get a string preference (I use Diadario NYXLs) so playing cheap and old strings will be unpleasant. Guitar necks should be kept under string tension so it is good that the strings are there if they inspect, setup, and ship the guitars, but it is an easy thing to cheap out on. New strings will have have better tuning and intonation as well. You can absolutely use the strings it comes with, but your better off with new ones
Haven’t had a proper look yet but wanted one for a while. Also just wondering on the link in the description it’s a fair bit more expensive than on the short idk know if this cos of shipping(not from US) or if it was on discount
@RealRooney1 I see what you are saying. I guess the price has gone up since Monday. I am not sure about shipping expenses outside of the U.S. but I would assume if you are on Amazon in your region then those numbers would be accurate to your location. I have heard good things about Grote and Firefly guitars. Squiers and Epiphones are good choices as well. Plenty of options. I would just go with humbuckers because lower end single coils struggle to sound good imo. Good luck 👍
Thanks man and also just like to say that I was shocked to see the view count on this vid seriously this vid has such a high quality feel with the editing and camera quality👍definitely be subbing
That’s a nice guitar! I’m going to recommend this brand to my co-worker, he’s tryna get his feet wet on the guitar without busting the bank… seems like a decent guitar for the price 🤙🏽
Do you get to keep the guitar or do you have to send it back? Also what is the nut width and neck measurement at the nut? I hate baseball bat necks. Oh and FIRST!
I get to keep it. Nut width is about 41 mm (1 and 5/8 inches) and neck is about about 19 mm ( 3/4 inch) thick. Maybe slightly smaller than my Epiphone Les Paul's neck
I would say more red. The guitar is at my work so I cannot check it right now, but it is more red than brown. The neck is closer burgundy like a red wine
t looks good, but kinda plasticky to me, I thought it wasn't made of actual wood and I don't say think that's a bad thing at all, if the guitar is indeed sturdy, affordable, light and plays well, that's all it matters, again, I think the guitar looks beautiful.
Whatever you do if you buy a fesley buy it from amazon do not buy it from fesley directly. I bought a fesley fsg350 two weeks ago they use Amazon for partial shipping then it gets handed to the USPS tracking shows it left an amazon location in New Jersey 1.5 hours away from me on November the 8th and the USPS does not have it. It was for my 60th birthday which is on November 17th doesn’t look like I’ll have a happy birthday what bull shit I should have bought a Jackson from sweet water along with my orange crush 20rt and I’d have it two weeks ago
Pretty slick! I have a Firefly fflp almost the same finish, these budget guitars are getting better and better
No kidding! I haven't tried a FF yet, but I want to. I've only heard good things
@stevenkambach yea I'm in Canada so had to do a bit of finageling to get one, but really worth it! I highly recommend 👌

🤣 that's because I'm terrible at lead

Everyone hates the gifted cables until your $60 cable decides to crap out. Never look a gift cable in the mouth.
Yes! Never throw a cable out 😄
Isn't it "never lick a gift horse on the mouth"?
@@GuthrieDennis something like that 😄
A noise gate might be necessary because the pickups are a little hissy but boy is a gorgeous guitar 🥰
Maybe! I usually use a noise gate with high gain regardless of which guitar I use but if it is mid gain crunch I don't
@@stevenkambach fair point, you did point out when you used noise gate lol I'll stick around my dude.

Sounds perfect for a non guitar playing drummer like myself to get eventually 😁👍
😄 sounds great 👍
Yeah exactly. I'm a bass player but write on guitar and this just feels incredibly easy to play.
I may buy a few of these to try out I like the looks of this one and the black one
Seems like a lot of guitar for under 200 bucks! Killer looks too!
I agree!

Nice! I wouldn't cheap out on acoustics, but a lot of these low budget electrics hold up well
I've payed more for worse guitars. It seems like a really good deal.
I agree 👍

Newbie here to guitar gear and maintenance but why would you switch out the strings the axe coems with?

Strings is fully preference you might just like the way some strings feel over another
Just started getting pretty good on acoustic after a couple months, wondering if this would be a good choice for my first electric. Thoughts?
I think it is a good choice 👍 a lot of guitar for your dollar here. What other guitars were you look at?

Yeah..but they knew that you were gonna review it so they gave you the most up right best guitar on the QC tip.

Does anyone know if the frets are stainless steel? I can’t find it on the website

Dang! Sorry 🙏
You could look on they website. Maybe there ship it. Im in Germany and my friend bought one for his students on the website. Maybe that works!
Quick question about the finish, is the dark color a dark brown or dark red before the burst?
