My girls were horrified, cried, and we soon left. The good that came out of it was that my girls grew up with a lot more compassion for the care and treatment of all living things. However, I must say that for the most part, the Salinas Rodeo treats the animals decently. But, would they, if not for the efforts of Shark, PETA, and other animal advocacy groups?
What's with the Apple bias at the rodeo? I'm going to guess these enforcers are stupid and don't realize iPhone is a brand of mobile phone. So mobile phone in general are fine? There are some great Android mobile phones with very nice camera optics.

Around 1985 the police stopped the colmo de rey parade because the police began to make the Salinas area a police state. Then the people of the Rodeo got sponsors like Granite and other companies and took over the rodeeo and since then they think it belongs to them. When they replaced the wood stands with metal, they wiped out that beautiful mural on the big wall facing North Main street and there’s been an ugly gaping hole for 25 year or so that is simply disgusting and horrible looking. The Rodeeo used to be so fun and there were no police state assholes like this around and no one would ever have been treated like this until the elite people with money took it out of the hands of the community. You are not the only one treated like this. I have not and will not take my family to another event at that place. It’s just lucky I have great memories before these controlling wanna be dictators got involved in the 1980’s. Nest time fly your drone. Most events do not want videos being produced for later distribution for possible profit, same as sporting events or concerts. I thought the staff was courteous and professional.
Funny, there's binoculars with built in camera, recorders and the man said OK , use your binocular! LOL! They think, mobile phones are OK, because the camera has only 3x-4x zooming, not much! But even those can have optical zoom lens attached. So, if some one really wants to record the show, they can, no one can stop it! Did I mention hidden cameras yet?

What you need to do is arrive at different times different vehicles & try not to look out of place. Dress in western wear. Now that said Lots of animal rights groups want to shut down all things animal related. If you ONLY focus on REAL animal cruelty like allowing injured animals to compete or injuring animals to make it easier to win then shut em down.

You should have turned off your camera, went to their office, and requested to see a copy of their policy. Then, in my humble opinion, you would have been able to go right back where you were and begin filming again.
